Hi there any issues with buying the Japanese models ? I’m also looking to buy a Calcutta conquest from Japan. Everyone at the fishing stores told me to stay away from Japanese models.
I've bought 6+ reels from Japan and never had any issues. They tell me that the reels can't be serviced in the US, but I've never had any problems requiring me to ship the reel back to Japan. If you go with a reputable retailer you shouldn't have any problems.

Is the brake easy to get too on the Calcutta conquest 400?
yes very easy but i hardly use it on mine i just adjust the tension for my lures weight
