    I believe this video is mirrored no? What looks like the right hand in the vídeos is the left and vice-versa, no? Anyway, very inspiring video, amazing rendition and nice “trip”.
    Do you use an extra tanpura sound as drone or only the shruti box? And what strings are in the tanpura part? Seem higher pitched than the stock strings on a sur tanpura. Thanks!!

    That was an experience I won’t forget in a hurry. I’m not even going to comment on the music other than to say it took me on a journey to a very peaceful place within. Thank you. I never knew I needed this. ❤

      I doubt it's silicone as it would need to be a material that sustains the sound, solid like glass metal or porcelain, I suspect it's a crystal, possibly rose quartz!

      I am taking the instrument to new places, but its a lot like Indian slide guitar, mohan veena, i like the way the slide sounds on the strings with the jiwari bridge, the buzzing harmonics is a lot like a sitar but the advantage of the sliding notes freedom. Did you like it? Also do you se the talk back effect speaker into rubber tube then chape
      the sound with your mouth to form words with the notes.

      Also... I'd like to know what's the measurement of the space between the strings of the tanpura.. and what kind of strings you are using to be able to "slide"?

    • @michaelleone7863
      @michaelleone7863 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@arizonasbanda3063 The slide i am using is a Crystal Massage Wand, Look for low price of Esty. I have like 6 different kinds of crystals they all have different tone quality, only slightly different. The spacing is much like a bass guitar much wider then a guitar. A bass pickup spacing would be very close to the same width between strings. i am using a guitar pickup from Bill Laurence very warn tone low distortion even at full volume. Bill Larance acrostic guitar pickup the kind you put in the sound hole they are not cheap but they have a great tone warm and very clean tone and will push preamps and effects well. I approach the finger style playing like a bass player, like Jako would finger his bass back by the bridge. DeAdario bronze acrostic guitar strings. Medium gauge. Let me know how else I can help.

      @@GreenGlobalCom First of all, thank you for your quick answer.
      It doesn't seem that easy to find the right pickup because there are different models. Would it be easier if we could communicate via email? I still have a few questions. Also to the instrument maker Briken Aliu.

      @@GreenGlobalCom - I've built cigar box guitars for over 25 years and play lap steel as well, I mess around with a lot of Blues tuning's, but am not familiar with Indian Tuning's ( especially the swarmandal ) . I got interested in this instrument last year when I was looking at shruti boxes online and started searching things out about it, somehow your video came up and it captured my attention - your video inspired me to buy a Tanpura Swarmandal ... I really enjoy your playing and have watched this post a number of times - just wanted to let you know you inspired someone over here - and I'm grateful that you posted and shared this...... I'm curious what things you did to improve the instruments ( I'm guessing tuning machines were first ? ) ... also whats your opinion on what types of pickups to use - Ive been wanting to amplify mine -- any other suggestions or directions you may have regarding tunings please feel free to share
