I am SAP BI/BW4 Hana consultant and learning POWER BI. For Power BI- SSIS, SSAS also required. Background concepts of all the Data warehouse tools are similar specially like the Surrogate key for the Dimension table and the same key used in the Fact table. Very well explained all these topics.

I enjoyed this video from start to 1:24:00, but for those who are absolute beginners to SSIS, please be aware that after 1:25, the video does not provide a complete SSIS package to populate data in the stage. If you are new to SSIS, I recommend gaining a basic understanding of SSIS first before proceeding with this video. There are other tutorials available that can help you get started with SSIS from scratch. Once you have a foundation, this video will be much more beneficial. And I also recommend to the Creator please pin this message and provide all links needed to follow your video otherwise lot of people devastated and there is no point of creating these kind of amazing tutorials.

Slowly Changing Dimension wizard bugged in VS 2022 perhaps? I'm also not getting any values in StartDate or EndDate drop downs. I found no solution, having tried changing from date to datetime, datetime2, changing null vs not null, replacing the view with a table. No solution works. I haven't tried an older version of Visual Studio yet.
Thank you for the great video. the question is that when loading data from source to staging do we include all attributes of source table in the staging? and what if the source tables are denormalized and in staging we want to have all related deformalized tables in one table?
It depend on the datawarehouse architect who design the solution , for future use and other considerations also plays a part in it , you can consult your arch in the project.

As you highlighted, one of the purpose of Direct query is meant for large data models, If this direct query slowing down the performance, you need to go for SSAS tabular / Azure Analysis services. This is what most of the Enterprise Level BI solution will follow
