I met someone who would grow to be one of my closest friends 10 months ago and I have had a crush on that someone for 8 months. We're both shy as heck but since July we've been able to be dorky around each other and it's great. I told him that I had feelings for him about two weeks ago, and he reciprocated the same feelings but said he wanted to focus on school. His parents put a lot of pressure on him to do well and we're both honors and advanced placement students, so I understand why. Our relationship has only grown since then bc we can now openly state our feelings and give each other compliments with feeling scared of rejection. I'm just waiting for when he is ready to make things official. But tbh I'm comfortable with how things are now and like you said there is no need to rush

I hope get together with her around then but I also can’t help but think that we’d be going to university a few months after so it would maybe become long distance unfortunately

Yes, we've grown a lot closer and shared some of our deepest fears to each other and shared some tid bits of our childhood, but we've both come to a place to realize that though we like each other so much, we're both just not ready for a relationship. I have trauma from my childhood to get over and am learning how to love and have close relationships, and he is learning to face his fears and how to accept love and affection. And not saying it plays a significant role, but he is a grade younger than me, so at times it is a little bit hard to judge where are relationship is going because I'm about to graduate in less than a month, and he is finishing his junior year. We're on different places on our path to adulthood, and at times that age difference is noticeable. But at the same time, we both understand each other, and are learning every day how to understand the parts of ourselves and the parts of each other that we don't yet understand. At times I wish we were together already, but others I am grateful for how we've been going, because it's given me a chance to explore who I really am, and grow as a person. And I don't think I could have given him the love he deserved if I hadn't taken it slow with him and learned about love from familial and friend relationships first. But on the other hand, yes we've had a couple "dates" but we didn't call them that, we hung out, but I guess it does fall under that connotation of a date. The first one I met and had breakfast with his entire family -1 that lives locally, and he took me skating, paid and everything. He held my hand and we struggled together since neither of us had gone skating in a very long time 😂. He picked me up every time I fell (which was a lot), and he never fell (cause he's a stud, lol.) And for the second date, he came over to my apartment and we played video games. I surprised myself at how I still get butterflies around him and feel a bit nervous like a beginning crush does, yet feel so comfortable and unabashed at the same time. I feel now though we could actually start something, as I have learned how to give love to people, and how specifically he needs my love and attention. For one thing, I love how we know each other's boundaries, when one another needs their space or needs to be reminded of how supported they are. We have both made mistakes, but I'd say we have learned through them, instead of letting them separate us. While some people (such as society and family and even myself at first) would have liked a more picturesque and aesthetic relationship, I take pride in knowing that I will have more than "a high school boyfriend". I have a person who I trust with my best interest and am not afraid to share anything with, and him too. We are best friends first before anything else, and I am so beyond grateful for that.
Take it slow! Being young- it's okay to think ahead and plan a sort of roadmap of where you both want to go in the future but don't rush into it! This stuff takes time. Relax- you have all the time in the world being young! So enjoy it. Listen to each other. Don't be clingy and just trust them! Be patient and don't like anxiety control your feelings and actions. Respect each other and commit to it if that's what you both want. It mostly comes to finding the right person for you. If they don't do those things then they're not for you! Or if they don't- talk to them about it. Honesty is important.

To simply put it, if you are in a teen-relationship and this is your first time let it be a experience and take things lightly. Sometimes things dont end up working out and that's completely fine, you guys are after still young and still don't know the true meaning of love. Yea break ups suck and may hurt, but youll get over it in no time. Not everything is about cute puppies and roses type of shit fantasy. both you want to enjoy yourselves being in the relationship and discover new things everyday. Don't end up making it a schedule for eachother because that ruins all the fun. If something does happens dont create pitiness over that person just because they aren't interested in you anymore, if they know that your not the one but still a great person then just move on. It's just a phase and theres plenty of other fish in the sea waiting for you 😉

I’m currently talking to someone and we’ve been talking for a while. My greatest fear when it comes to relationships is my overthinking. I’ve been hurt way too many times in my last relationship to the point where I told my ex that I’m gonna move on alone and it took every bit of me to say that. With this new girl, I just want it to go right and not be paranoid when In a new relationship. Overthinking is so common in relationships, so you're definitely not alone in this. It's been awhile since you dropped this comment so I truly hope things worked out for you. But regardless, my biggest piece of advice is that if your level of physical intimacy is higher than you're level of trust, then there will most likely be insecurity in your relationship. Trust takes time to build 💙
The best advice I can think of that I wish i'd thought of when young is to take an accredited basic psychology course. It will help you to understand yourself and what YOU need first, and also help you pick out those who are putting on an act - which most men and women do at first, and some can keep it up until after marriage a couple of years along the line. Still, there will be tells and a basic psychology course will help you spot important things you might otherwise not notice or may dismiss. It will also help you in many other areas of your life.

I'm 17 and my entire love/relationship background goes like this: - Had my first girlfriend when I was like 11/12 and the closest we got were like kisses on the mouth/cheeks - From 13 until like 15/16 I had some crushes (like on my best female friend, some cute girls etc.) but it never worked out and the closest I got was like hugging/cuddeling them - When I was 16 I had my first tongue kiss with a female friend (she was a bit drunk though). During the summer our group used to get drunk/high and this female friend kissed me a lot on the mouth/face - During this "drunk" times I also meet new girls and we cuddled together while drunk - Now I'm 17 and stopped doing this much alcohol and I'm trying to get in a relationship with a 18 year old girl, the normal and sober way, without being drunk. In a relationship there is different opinions, different beliefs and each will be comfortable with different things. I have got to agree with you personally though, hugs, holding hands, kissing or talking about about it is a bit soon for the first week of a new relationship but I have got friends (girls and guys) that would agree differently or not at all. I’ve been in a relationship with my boyfriend for 3 months now and we have only hugged once and it was saying good bye before nz when in to full lockdown, instead we have talked gotten to know each other and comfortable round each other. I don’t know if he loves me or not (i don’t mind at the moment at least) but I do know that he likes me a lot and if for any reason I was uncomfortable with what he was doing, how close he was to me ecta he would respect that stop what ever that was. I have friend who dated her now ex for nearly 2 years straight and started kissing very early on in the relationship and spend every spear minutes with each other ( sleep over, movies, ditching school, mall, shops, scate parks). I'm 15, I have a girl I like quite alot, and she likes me back. She's almost 14 and I'm 15. The catch here is, we aren't dating, we both really like each other but we are staying friends to avoid any possible issues or changes. She said she wanted to wait until she was 16 to date me, originally I was confused but as I go I start to realize that it's a smart idea. Me and her talk literally everyday, there hasn't been a single day where we haven't atleast said hello to each other. We also voice call and play games online. Sometimes we get into little arguments but they resolve in less than a day typically. We've talked for about 9-10 months now and I enjoy her presence. However, I always worry about the outcome, I really really want to date her, but it's a decently long wait, especially because of the age gap and the fact that she lives 2 states away. I have a problem, like a REALLY big problem... I love a people, i really love... but there is something that is making me feel quite suffocated. When someone see me and say like "Oh hi Adrian! How are the girfriends? Haha" (this is like a expression on my language, it's like "como vai as namoradinhas?" So dont worry it seems weird), the say "He has a girlfriend?" and my mom says something like "If i know it he will catch haha"(this is just another expression, dont worry). But with this lines i feel very confused, i love this people A LOT, is the first person who i felt something more, but the way people talk about, makes me think things like, "i think i as a tennager, it's wrong to love someone" "But, if is wrong... why i feel that?". You are maybe asking, "Why dont you try to talk to them" i just cant... i dont know, they are a little bit too critic(it's more my mom and my brother, my dad is more friendly), so i dont talk about me for them, that fear of being critisiced. Because of that, there's 2 years or more that i like this person, and considering the way my family are, i dont think they will have the sensibility to hear me, i have the felling that if i talk to them, they gonna say things do like "i am more older than you, this automatically makes me right" or "you are too young for that". The second one is undertandable, i know i have to foccus in the school, know to how handle things, but i dont think the "you are young" argument it's too valid, not valid but, i think i can learn how to have a good relationship. My first relationship is last year and I have some wrong doings, I needed allloooott of attention but our classes cross each other (after my whole classes are done he would take over the classes at afternoon.) Trust yourself!! There's a reason you said no all those times. It can be hard to be honest with yourself about if you're ready to date or not, so you should be proud of yourself for not settling!! You still got plenty of time to figure out the whole dating thing and if he really likes you and respects you, then he should respect that fact that you weren't ready for a relationship at the time, but maybe in the future :)

At times I wish we were together already, but others I am grateful for how we've been going, because it's given me a chance to explore who I really am, and grow as a person. And I don't think I could have given him the love he deserved if I hadn't taken it slow with him and learned about love from familial and friend relationships first. But on the other hand, yes we've had a couple "dates" but we didn't call them that, we hung out, but I guess it does fall under that connotation of a date. The first one I met and had breakfast with his entire family -1 that lives locally, and he took me skating, paid and everything. He held my hand and we struggled together since neither of us had gone skating in a very long time 😂. He picked me up every time I fell (which was a lot), and he never fell (cause he's a stud, lol.) And for the second date, he came over to my apartment and we played video games. I surprised myself at how I still get butterflies around him and feel a bit nervous like a beginning crush does, yet feel so comfortable and unabashed at the same time. I feel now though we could actually start something, as I have learned how to give love to people, and how specifically he needs my love and attention. For one thing, I love how we know each other's boundaries, when one another needs their space or needs to be reminded of how supported they are. We have both made mistakes, but I'd say we have learned through them, instead of letting them separate us. While some people (such as society and family and even myself at first) would have liked a more picturesque and aesthetic relationship, I take pride in knowing that I will have more than "a high school boyfriend". I have a person who I trust with my best interest and am not afraid to share anything with, and him too. We are best friends first before anything else, and I am so beyond grateful for that.

Take it slow! Being young- it's okay to think ahead and plan a sort of roadmap of where you both want to go in the future but don't rush into it! This stuff takes time. Relax- you have all the time in the world being young! So enjoy it. Listen to each other. Don't be clingy and just trust them! Be patient and don't like anxiety control your feelings and actions. Respect each other and commit to it if that's what you both want. It mostly comes to finding the right person for you.

Sometimes things dont end up working out and that's completely fine, you guys are after still young and still don't know the true meaning of love. Yea break ups suck and may hurt, but youll get over it in no time. Not everything is about cute puppies and roses type of shit fantasy. both you want to enjoy yourselves being in the relationship and discover new things everyday. Don't end up making it a schedule for eachother because that ruins all the fun. If something does happens dont create pitiness over that person just because they aren't interested in you anymore, if they know that your not the one but still a great person then just move on. It's just a phase and theres plenty of other fish in the sea waiting for you 😉

I’m currently talking to someone and we’ve been talking for a while. My greatest fear when it comes to relationships is my overthinking. I’ve been hurt way too many times in my last relationship to the point where I told my ex that I’m gonna move on alone and it took every bit of me to say that. With this new girl, I just want it to go right and not be paranoid when In a new relationship. The best advice I can think of that I wish i'd thought of when young is to take an accredited basic psychology course. It will help you to understand yourself and what YOU need first, and also help you pick out those who are putting on an act - which most men and women do at first, and some can keep it up until after marriage a couple of years along the line. Still, there will be tells and a basic psychology course will help you spot important things you might otherwise not notice or may dismiss.
It will also help you in many other areas of your life.

- Had my first girlfriend when I was like 11/12 and the closest we got were like kisses on the mouth/cheeks
- From 13 until like 15/16 I had some crushes (like on my best female friend, some cute girls etc.) but it never worked out and the closest I got was like hugging/cuddeling them
- When I was 16 I had my first tongue kiss with a female friend (she was a bit drunk though). During the summer our group used to get drunk/high and this female friend kissed me a lot on the mouth/face
- During this "drunk" times I also meet new girls and we cuddled together while drunk
- Now I'm 17 and stopped doing this much alcohol and I'm trying to get in a relationship with a 18 year old girl, the normal and sober way, without being drunk.

In a relationship there is different opinions, different beliefs and each will be comfortable with different things. I have got to agree with you personally though, hugs, holding hands, kissing or talking about about it is a bit soon for the first week of a new relationship but I have got friends (girls and guys) that would agree differently or not at all. I’ve been in a relationship with my boyfriend for 3 months now and we have only hugged once and it was saying good bye before nz when in to full lockdown, instead we have talked gotten to know each other and comfortable round each other. I don’t know if he loves me or not (i don’t mind at the moment at least) but I do know that he likes me a lot and if for any reason I was uncomfortable with what he was doing, how close he was to me ecta he would respect that stop what ever that was. I have friend who dated her now ex for nearly 2 years straight and started kissing very early on in the relationship and spend every spear minutes with each other ( sleep over, movies, ditching school, mall, shops, scate parks). It’s just finding that common ground you both shear and are comfortable with, every relationship is different. Talk to him (dsorry you didn’t mention his name), talk and talk, have conversations that take up the whole lunch with out relising it. Talk about these things comfortable with him, why does he was to do those thing, is case that what reackions couples do or how you show you love/comintment to him, idk but find that out it may explain why he wants to go so fast in your relationship or not but trying better than not.

I'm 15, I have a girl I like quite alot, and she likes me back. She's almost 14 and I'm 15. The catch here is, we aren't dating, we both really like each other but we are staying friends to avoid any possible issues or changes. She said she wanted to wait until she was 16 to date me, originally I was confused but as I go I start to realize that it's a smart idea. Me and her talk literally everyday, there hasn't been a single day where we haven't atleast said hello to each other. We also voice call and play games online. Sometimes we get into little arguments but they resolve in less than a day typically. We've talked for about 9-10 months now and I enjoy her presence. I have a problem, like a REALLY big problem...
I love a people, i really love... but there is something that is making me feel quite suffocated. When someone see me and say like "Oh hi Adrian! How are the girfriends? Haha" (this is like a expression on my language, it's like "como vai as namoradinhas?" So dont worry it seems weird), the say "He has a girlfriend?" and my mom says something like "If i know it he will catch haha"(this is just another expression, dont worry). But with this lines i feel very confused, i love this people A LOT, is the first person who i felt something more, but the way people talk about, makes me think things like, "i think i as a tennager, it's wrong to love someone" "But, if is wrong... why i feel that?".
You are maybe asking, "Why dont you try to talk to them" i just cant... i dont know, they are a little bit too critic(it's more my mom and my brother, my dad is more friendly), so i dont talk about me for them, that fear of being critisiced. Because of that, there's 2 years or more that i like this person, and considering the way my family are, i dont think they will have the sensibility to hear me, i have the felling that if i talk to them, they gonna say things do like "i am more older than you, this automatically makes me right" or "you are too young for that". The second one is undertandable, i know i have to foccus in the school, know to how handle things, but i dont think the "you are young" argument it's too valid, not valid but, i think i can learn how to have a good relationship.
I know, all this can be solved by just have a conversation, but i am very afraid for it... But i need to do something, the people that i am loving have serious problems with family and etc, and i think "officialize" our relationship, i can help him more direcly.

My first relationship is last year and I have some wrong doings, I needed allloooott of attention but our classes cross each other (after my whole classes are done he would take over the classes at afternoon.) Trust yourself!! There's a reason you said no all those times. It can be hard to be honest with yourself about if you're ready to date or not, so you should be proud of yourself for not settling!! You still got plenty of time to figure out the whole dating thing and if he really likes you and respects you, then he should respect that fact that you weren't ready for a relationship at the time, but maybe in the future :)

See, I’m 14, I have a girlfriend and she is my first, I’m not her first and I have no clue if my relationship is a good one, I think we both are good enough people and up to around 4 months we were doing really good, but now it’s 5 months and it just feels kinda weird sometimes
