This is the PAL version distributed in Spain and in other European countries. At that time anime based games came first to France and that country used to modify (i do not know why) the names of the characters in these games according to the names given to them in the translations of the anime that were broadcasted on france television. Later the games were distributed to other European countries with those "names" modications.
Review (in english): Ranma ½: Hard Battle (Ranma ½: Bakuretsu Rantōhen?) is a 2-D fighting video game released by Masaya and DTMC for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is based on the anime and manga series Ranma ½. Hard Battle is the second Ranma ½ game to be translated into English, this time keeping the original graphics, music, and names of characters. However, they were using different voices for the International releases outside of Japan.
Hard Battle has three modes of play: the standard one-player tournament mode, a two-player competitive mode, and a two-player five-character team challenge mode. There are ten characters in the game (twelve if Ranma and Pantyhose Taro's cursed forms are counted). All twelve characters are available for the two-player modes. After completing tournament mode Pantyhose becomes a playable tournament character. Happosai is unlockable by entering a code. Play control is simpler than most fighting games. Each of the SNES controller's buttons (plus the up arrow) could be assigned to activate one of four moves: jump, block, normal attack, and power attack. Different normal and power attacks could be triggered depending of a variety of factors, such as how far the attacker is from the opponent, if he is ducking, or if a directional arrow is pressed along with the attack button.
Instead of entering a series of directional movements and pressing an attack button to activate a special attack, most moves were done by holding the left, right, or down arrow in conjunction with an attack button for a few seconds and then releasing the attack button. The longer the attack button was held the stronger the attack would be. For instance, one of Ryoga's special attacks is the bandana throw. If held for several seconds he throws three bandanas instead of one. Many moves could also be executed while holding the block button. Another feature of Hard Battle was the ability to recover from throws. By pressing an attack button after being thrown the character could attempt to land on his or her feet and take less damage. Unlike many fighting games, opponents never get stunned after being hit with powerful attacks or a combo. Each character had his or her own story. In any case, the character was manipulated into fighting the other characters by Principal Kuno.

Having Ryoga start the fight facing the wrong way is a really nice touch.
Juegazo
One of my favorite games growing up. Totally underrated. Used to play this for hours with my cousins. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks to you for watching the video.

France changed the names because at the time the anime was on a channel for children (big mistake) so they put French names to the characters so that children understand better. Yes, it's anything.
Wait....so different specials can be done by either distance or ducking? How come whenever I play as female Ranma she only one move regardless? Could it be different buttons for the attacks?
+Marcos Palma Saludos a ti. Gracias por pasarte.
My Childhood is back :'3✌👌👌👌👌
Thanks for watching!
La serie molaba muchísimo. Saludos y gracias por pasarte por aquí.
I remember finding this randomly while I was growing up in Hawaii. Played it a lot.
I remember finding the code to play as Happosai.
The names in this version are hilarious.

probably you are right...
The anime brought me here, one of my favorite animes and i foubd out it has a video game not so long ago, can't wait to play it :)
the game is cool!
RYOGA V.S. the ARCADE MOLE! Yes it is and there's another one called treasure of the red cat gang, an rpg! So awesome lol have you heard of it?
Yes, I know the game but I have not played it much.
Gran video tio.
When Panthyose wins, it writes かっこいい and it means "Cool" in Japanese.
thanks for the info.
@@ryoga_ Wow ! Your video dates from 10 years ago and you answer me, Gracias !

hehehe, thanks for watching!
Good point! thanks for watching!
Just for the record: this was the Euro version of Ranma 1/2, released by Ocean. Some of the character's names have been changed for the Euro version.

If this game was on the switch, I would play it in a heartbeat!
it is a good game.

Why is Ukkyo called "Frederic" in this game? In fact why are some of the other characters names changed?
the "fixed comment" has the response to your question...
saludos.
It's very stupid that they only release this game for the American snes. In the japanese version they have the complete series of ranma 1/2. Since I like this game a lot I'm gonna buy the Japanese copies to complete my collection of ranma 1/2 series.
You can play all the Ranma 1/2 games released for both SFC and SNES systems using emulators so there is no sense in buying all the physical copies.
Adeline, Bambou, Mathias y Frederick :v
Frederick😂 si ella es mujer
2 versions of them are pretty kickass
I know. Thanks for watching!
The gave Ukyo a guy's name...
Yes, thats a shame
It´s Coming.
they change it the names to french version of ranma 1/2 !
yes.
shampoo's name in spain was bambou? ...
Yes. Shampoo´s name both in Spain and France was "Bambou" ---> "This is the PAL version distributed in Spain and in other European countries. At that time anime based games came first to France and that country used to modify (i do not know why) the names of the characters in these games according to the names given to them in the translations of the anime that were broadcasted on france television. ...and Ukyo was Frederick...i am spanish and those traductions and names are a mess.

jejejeje. Gracias por pasarte juanoleitoxx.
Nah, tranki. Me había parecido que te habías ofendido amigo. Don´t Worry.
Now I want to dig out my SNES.
raydeen2k thanks for watching
+RYOGA V.S. the ARCADE MOLE! Shampoo was OP and I didn't care. :D
kids these days dont know what ranma is.. Killer Instict, and all the fighting games from the past that Super Nintendo and Nintendo NES had.

Who is Adeline? That looks like akane to me...
Yes. Akane´s name in France was "Adeline" -> "This is the PAL version distributed in Spain and in other European countries. At that time anime based games came first to France and that country used to modify (i do not know why) the names of the characters in these games according to the names given to them in the translations of the anime that were broadcasted on france television. Is there a reason the names are different?
the "fixed comment" has the response to your question...
I always had a hard time trying to beat ShamPoo(Bambou), that was the only figher hat kept from beating the game.
I agree qith you, Shampoo is one of the most difficult fighters in this game.
All of those musics still in my mind (and in my ipod XD)
hehehe.
Akane [Adeline] Playthrough: th-cam.com/video/o_3APs1DBWs/w-d-xo.html
who is adeline? that's akane not adeline, wrong name.

No te enfades.
