this is either not true or at a minimum was fixed very early on. you literally wouldn't get match wins or rank up if you tried matchmaking with a friend who was too high ranked compared to you or someone who was severely outcompeting you (not sure which but definitely 1 of the 2). i tried this many times as a kid on the original halo 3 for xbox 360 inviting my older brothers friends or crazy good people i met in custom lobbies to ranked doubles, the people who was trying to carry me would rank up whereas i would receive nothing for my 'wins'. it was literally complete waste of time @@TripleKmafia

Wins ranked you up. The more in a row the better, and if you were playing with a teammate higher ranked than you, the more you leveled up. That’s why he is playing with a level 50 and skipping some levels. If you were playing by yourself it would have been slow af.

OG h3 ranking system worked a lil bit like this - If u win with good team mates (team mates who have been consistently winning games), u might be alright, could’ve gotten carried, yeah you’ll rank up, or maybe not If you win with shitty team mates (team mates who have been consistently losing games) then you were probably the reason you won, & therefore will rank up much faster. So basically ppl would make “booster” accounts which they’d just go in & lose game after game after game & then when they played w someone they actually wanted to rank up they’d win & the person they were playing with would jump ranks fast af

Then I got a 50 in TS the next day haha I ended up playing a game of ranked double xp and made my record look perfect. Like he coulda just played randoms in doubles and carried his teammate every game until he got a 50. Most 50's were trash anyways, including a lot of MLG 50's. BTW to the guy who made this video...there was a bunch of people back in the day that had a 50 with a legit perfect record, I think technically the fastest you could get a 50 was in like 12 games. I saw a few like that, they probably boosted tho
