Actually, there’s a 7800 gave video that I did about two months ago. I don’t have a 7800+, but the 2600+ does the same thing and plays 7800 games, so I have a video with 12 games (so far) that I think are fantastic. Here’s the link: th-cam.com/video/gUwZ8gtnXTI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DFec1j4gSZ9fCWOV Thank you so much for the compliment and comment and for watching! I appreciate it greatly. I hope you got a good laugh too. 😁😎🙏🙏🙏
Here is where it gets FUNNY: when I was writing my VoiceOver for these games, I remembered 95% of the games' stories. I researched them and looked at some of the online manuals too if I knew I didn't own the manual (or it wasn't easily accessible). However, with Lock N Chase, I own the manual, it's in a closet 53 feet from my desk, and I never read it- ever. My best friend had this game first when we were kids and I "remembered" that when we played the game we were the cop and the blue guys were thieves. And perhaps this is the first game I ever played where I was the bad guy (and didn't know it). GTA from years ago HAHA! See how memory can switch things and all I had to do is read the manual in my closet? Lesson learned there right? Anyway, I thought I would share that. Have a great weekend!
@@GAMECLOSET Oh wow! Glad to set the story straight for you! Y'know, I have a similar story - after decades of playing tennis and saying 'ad-in' and 'ad-out', I'd always assumed it was 'add a point in/out' - but my wife set me straight last night and said it actually means 'advantage in/out'... mind... blown... :)
The mister would be a great way to relive those games! And if you miss the actual joystick, there are USB and wireless options available too. Heck, Atari even makes one! Thanks for your comment!
I 💯 agree! My video with 51 Atari games (Part 1) contains Q-bert. That video was comprised of 5 different videos where I featured 10+ games in each then put the video together for one big video with prices included. A couple of the videos were shot prior to the 2600+ release date in anticipation of the console so I could recommend some great games. Here’s the link for that video: th-cam.com/video/aq4oPDW9tb0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CYvDZ_suoa8lWcsQ I appreciate you watching and your comment! 💯😎😁
Aw man, you missed an opportunity! In Alien you said that it's not as good as Ripley's flamethrower, but the flamethrower is in the game! It makes the Aliens switch directions. :)
I just put a brand new label on my copy of Mousetrap too. It’s label feel off and disappeared 🤷😂. I think you got a good Christmas present that year! And you’re most welcome. I hope you had a good laugh too.
I definitely dig Surround. My childhood friend, Walt, & I used to pay the heck outta that game when we were kids. He had it then I got it. But, there are so many good Atari games (and plenty that aren't so good) that they all can't go on the list as "The Best". You just watched the follow-up video. Here is the link for the first 51 I did if you want to have a look at it. It was a 5 part video that I put into one, and was right before the 2600+ arrived at my home so the first 30 or so games were showing great games prior to getting the 2600+: th-cam.com/video/aq4oPDW9tb0/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching! Have a great weekend!
Although it pained me to watch Atari games this was fun, some of them didn’t look too bad honestly! Why do I want Quaker Oats all of a sudden 🤔 Crazy you crammed this many games in 31 min! Great Job Scott ❤️🎮
Thank you for watching, Rob! Yeah, there’s some great stuff here. Some are what I consider “must have” because of people’s nostalgia for the games and that they are memorable; but some are just stellar and very well made that are super fun and challenging even now. Like Jawbreaker and Omega Race, what great titles. Realsports Volleyball andPac-Man aren’t a stellar titles, but are fun and worth owning. And yes, I made this video for everyone- even Atari holdouts like yourself! 😂
The manual said “rifle”. I know, I know… Atari graphics don’t match reality most times. Look at Pac-Man: the four ghosts were supposed to be: Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplain, James Dean, and Buddy Holly, but the Atari graphics gave us unrecognizable yellow ghosts. Ugh- ATARI!!! 🤦🏼♀️😂
😂😂😂 Well, maybe not the only one. These two huge lists of 91 games I complied definitely have games for all attention spans. There are a TON of shovelware games (especially from the early days: Space War? Fun With Numbers? Codebreaker? Sssnake? Bugs? UGH!!!!). But these are definitely compelling. One that looks amazing but not even the manual can make sense is Pressure Cooker. WTF do you do? There’s no real rhyme or reason to its menu system and what you’re supposed to make. 🤷 But Jawbreaker is amazing. I have another Atari list video coming, but this will be a BEST of the BEST only. (And a much smaller list). Thanks, Jason!
@marccaselle8108 absolutely. There are a select few games that can keep one occupied for a longer period of time, but they exist for sure. These are the ones that were engineered well and their quality stood the test of time. There are a couple I didn’t mention in either video that are GREAT Games, but I didn’t feel were “must have” titles due to their difficulty. But that’s another video… 😁😎
If you liked this video, here is the first 51 carts we checked out! Enjoy!

You really have helped me a lot in the selection of games you've recommended. I hope you do more videos like this when the 7800+ comes out.

By the way, did you see the first video with 51 Atari 2600 games? Here’s that link too: th-cam.com/video/aq4oPDW9tb0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7Up2Ply4LVjTQpc7
@@GAMECLOSET that was the one that appeared on my TH-cam feed first. Thanks again!
@fireguyCO You’re most welcome.
Loved the romp through nostalgia land... at 11:38, I remember that Lock n' Chase, the PLAYER was the thief collecting loot and running from the cops?
YES!!! Omg! I think I got it backwards in the video!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 I might be getting old now! 😂😂😂

@juliushowlett7247 oh wow! That’s a good one too! 😂👍🏻💜
Had most of these on the 2600 in the day, now will go play them on my mister, wonderful games and memories.

Q*Bert for 2600 is a high recommend. Excellent port

I loved jaw breakers when i was a kid, aja gob stoppers. those flamin hot ones were brutal.
I could swear I had one that lasted 2 days once. Some flavors were really good without being cloying too!

Yeah, I realized that afterward. And two days later I watched Aliens again… during the eggs & Queen scene, I went D’oh!!!

Wow what a ride I forgot how many great 2600 games there are!!! Great vid scott!
Indeedio! Thanks, my friend!
I didn't even know some of these exist! Good picks and great video sir!
💜 Thank you, Sir!
No love for Surround? Probably one of my favorite 2600 games of the ones I owned back in the day.

There are lots of good games for the Atari 2600. Most Activision games are great and most I magic games are great too
