*WHERE* do you find out about these programs to help revitalize the community? After seeing an abandoned building in Como today spent a large part of my morning trying to find information on such programs without luck. I went down to city hall and got some information but I'm still very green to investing and real estate. I was redirected across the street to Neighborhood Services and was given a lot of helpful information by one of the administrators there. She informed me about some of the requirements needed to rehabilitate property and also on the historical significance of Como. That inspired me to get on TH-cam to see what else I can find. I was today years old when I found out about the literal wall built to separate the blacks and whites in the Como area back in the day. 🤯 I have to be honest though, when I see some of the deterioration and possible signs of gang activity in the area it scares me away from wanting to invest even though I would love to be part of the revitalization of such a historically significant area. There's only a handful of videos on TH-cam about the history of Como, but a lot more about the crime and gang violence. Am I the only one who's both optimistic but intimidated about the idea of investing in "the hood"?
And people are barely realizing this, como will be what it once was soon. My mom lives there and I grew up there, I always tell my mom to buy a house and invest, it won't be long until they increase mortgages and do people away with new developments with things staying the way they are
