I MOVED TO FORT WORTH,TEXAS EIGHT MONTHS AGO AND LOVE IT HERE! I TAKE PUBLIC TRANSIT EVERYWHERE.I'M 52 YEARS OLD AND WORK IN DOWNTOWN,FORT WORTH AS A HOUSEKEEPER AT A WONDERFUL HOTEL.THE HEAT WAVE ON THE OTHER HAND, IS DOWN RIGHT HORRIBLE IN THE SUMMER MONTHS! 😃😀😀😄😄😝😝😉😉😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😉
God bless you for discouraging more people from moving here! We've lived here for 21 years and believe me when I say the roads are about 10-15 years behind for the population growth.
@OP, yes people need to stop coming here. They need to stop coming to texas period 😂 Oh, and the census was wrong. Very wrong. We were low balled. Not that anything will happen of course...
I'm 52 years old. I live in Dallas for the last 16 years, but was born and raised on the north side of Funky Town Fort "Party" Worth. Prospect Ave & 31st. My family is on the 1910 U.S. Census at that same address for more than 100 years. Ft. Worth has more hoods than Dallas. Dallas is bad but Ft. Worth has more hoods.
I moved in the area years ago. I noticed she didn't mention all these awful Warehouses they are building everywhere. Amazon, JC Penney's, FedEx and a ton of food company warehouses the whole area is one big box. They are everywhere especially north of the city. Creating all this traffic and all the roads being beaten up by trucks. They are also adding toll roads everywhere that are very expensive and with digital signs the prices change constantly. All the sports teams being 30 miles away isn't a disadvantage, because the areas close to those stadiums are a circus during game time. .
There's nothing wrong with Ft. Worth. I've lived here for over 2 years. It is hot but you can stay inside. Crime is everywhere. There's lots of museum's, parks, gardens. There's a cool zoo. IV lived in Texas for years and years. None of the things she's talking about isn't a deal breaker.
Everyone can't stay inside, some have to get out. Some of her reason can be important to others that are thinking about moving here. Some people may not like heat at all. Fort Worth has increased, and it is now crowded, and can be very overwhelming for those that have to travel on the roads. Traffic is horrible, and people can not drive. HWY 35, is the worst.
*The TRE train takes you from downtown Fort Worth to downtown Dallas. When you get to Arlington you can connect with Via for rides. TEXRail train goes from downtown Fort Worth to Terminal B at DFW airport*
@@livinginfortworth Im 35 and remember what life was like in the early 90s and it was dangerous, things kinda died down some but now the trend seems to be a consistent spike in crime lately
Been living in Fort Worth for over ten years now and I love it. The Funk is a nice place to live especially the far north area, which is steadily growing. There are good school districts outside of Fort Worth ISD.
The bad: 1. Weather, yup agree, it’s hot and sucks in summer. 2. Crime, every city has problem areas. 3. Population, yup it’s getting crowded on the roads. 4. Schools, yup they are not great. 5. Electricity, eh, issues are rare. 6. No pro sports? They are only a 30 min drive away.
I moved here from Tampa FL 5 years ago and have been doing well since. The only thing I miss from there is the frequent rain. It's definitely more dry here. As for traffic, it's waaaay better here than big cities in Florida. I would be stuck in traffic for hours, while here there are plenty of other routes to take to avoid it. Never really had an issue with it. And housing/apartments are cheaper here than over there, with a LOT more job opportunities. You definitely have more room to grow here in Fort Worth vs other cities of similar size.
Thats so crazy im planning on moving from Tampa as well i was anxious I thought about more opportunities cheaper rent n u validated everything for me thanks ❤
I’ve lived here almost all my life. Yes, if you’re from California or New York, don’t come. We don’t want you. We have plenty of air conditioning plus storm shelters. Every city has a rough side. We ❤ Texas and wouldn’t live anywhere else.
Look at the front doors and windows when shopping online for a place to live. If you see house photos and there is Cage doors on the doors and bars on windows. Run the other way.
The part of K-12 education is stark, but higher education also I think is a pro. We have the UNTHSC Med school and TCU med school, TCU, Texas Wesleyan, Texas A&M law school etc. I think there are many higher education opportunities in Fort Worth!
Moved Fort Worth October 2020. Infrastructure is really lagging behind the huge population in flux. North and northwest inundated with commercial structures, distribution warehouses and the like. The newer southwest portion of FW isn't as bad if you don't mind utilizing a toll road. I'm all over FW working in Emergency Services and it's surprisingly huge.
Fort Worth, it is worth it to live here. I come from up close by New York way and there are tons of people from the North and California moving here to get away from REAL crime. Yeah, the cost of living is going up and rent and such as people move here but this is at least a town where people tend to help each other, and I love the cowboys I see walking around downtown because they are so polite as well as this being a God loving town. I like it here. So it's hot. The weather stinks wherever you go these days.
Moved here 16 yrs ago, from California. I loved that I lived near cows and pastures down the street, and felt like the city in the other directions. Now, the pastures are replaced by houses and apartments, shopping centers. Sadly, in my area, electricity always goes out...especially during a storm. I have also noticed that crime is becoming more prevalent near us. But area is mostly quiet though.
I lived most of my 66 yrs. in the DFW area; mostly FW. I agree with all those drawbacks. It's a little sad really. Though I do prefer it to any other city in the metroplex, including the smaller ones. But that may just be a reflection of my familiarity with the town. The only other places I've lived for an extended period, was Portland, OR (86-96), and Rio Vista, CA for a couple years. Portland was beautiful, and had great mass transit, but the homeless situation has just exploded there. Also, cost of living is out of reach. Rio Vista was too small, so I had to commute 1.5 hours for work. I'm trying nomad life now - staying on BLM and Natl. Forest land away from big cities and most people. It suits me.
I moved here 6 months ago after living in Idaho and Utah my whole life. I have to be honest, I don’t love it. In the summer, you can’t go outside, you can’t drive to mountains to cool off, etc. I miss the outdoor activities and want to move back west one day. But it’s cheap and the jobs pay well! You won’t enjoy it here though if your hobbies are mostly outdoors
I lived in Fort Worth from the time I was 14 til I was 27 yrs old. I attended Meacham Middle School then Diamond Hill Jarvis High school. I worked at Tandy Wire & Cable. Yes it is Hot as hell. The weather was intense at times. ( I don't know why you'll don't have storm cellars ). I hated the bugs. Yeah the crime. However I love the people. I miss my friends. I love the Fort Worth Zoo, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, The Botanical Gardens and Water Gardens. Also The Stockyards and I remember the Isis Theater. Not to mention the authentic Mexican Restaurants. I really miss living there. Now the weather extremes and affordability keep me from moving back. #FortWorthRocks
I'm moving out of the Ft.Worth area because of everything seen on this video. I'm glad she is letting people know about the crime and road congestion. It's terrible. Been here 38 yrs.But I need a more peaceful place to live.
I live on the high plains of Texas, peaceful other than wind. People are great. I will never understand why people want to live in highly populated cities.
@@westcoastgerm we're trying to retreat too. Fort worth is old dallas now and well, dallas, is mini Chicago IL/Detroit MI . Austin is BEYOND terrible, Houston's EVEN worse. Homeless and their fecal matter and trash everywhere. Homeless dressed nicer than I, banging their cups on my window at almost every exit in ftw off of 35, 20 and 121. Its terrible here. Definitely not the same streets I grew up on.
I'm moving to Texas, but unsure which part. I would like to live close to a big city, but want that country feel. I'm moving from Phoenix. I can't stand this city any longer. It's gotten so huge and congested and 10 times hotter than before. I want to go horse riding, camping, and enjoy all the outdoorsy stuff Texas offers. Also, my experience with Texans have always been great. They aren't MEAN at all. They are unusually nice compared to AZ where someone will roll down their window and threaten to cap you for "cutting them off". Everything is becoming overpriced. It's hot as hell here. There are to many angry people everywhere. I'm so ready to leave. FYI: I'm not a fan of the big metropolitan cities. I like more of a mid size town with upscale amenities and bigger lots. Any suggestions from actual TEXANS would be great. I'm getting my Cowboy hats and boots all ready! Texas ain't ready for this outlaw lol
Wow that's a huge question given how large the state is. Each region has what you are describing. Shoot us a note here and let's see if we can help mcgrawtx.com/email
As someone who grew up in Fort Worth and lived in EVERY neighborhood and side of town. For out of Towners, DO NOT MOVE HERE, you can get a luxury apartment and you’ll see me arguing with dopefiends in the parking lot, across the street, drinking a 40. Occasionally there’ll be a half naked man walking next to your 2020 model car. Mind you, the projects or “hood”, low income neighborhoods are less than 1,000 feet away from your $2,000 a month apartment
The northern suburbs tend to be higher quality in schools and amenities, however the home prices and rents are higher. It's the old axiom you get what you pay for. I am happy that I left California several years ago to live in the Fort Worth area.
The city I’m in now has so much crime there are killings, and robberies every day.And they say don’t come out at night here. Crime is everywhere you have to be careful wherever you go.
There IS a professional team in Fort Worth, Panther City (box) Lacrosse team that had their inaugural season last year,, and there's the rodeo. There isn't public transportation to Arlington, but there is the TRE train that takes you from Fort Worth directly to the American Airlines Center.
Haha! I will be moving from Oklahoma and I'm sure the tornadoes aren't as bad as Oklahoma's. And, after living in Houston for six years (& loving it), I'm sure that the traffic and crime are also not as bad as Houston's. And, while Pastor Joel will always be my Pastor, you have some amazing ministries in Fort Worth--and it's a short drive to Potter's house in Dallas too❣️
We just moved to Fort Worth over the summer from NY. Complete culture shock. Eventually we did get settled in. The biggest disappointment however is that I moved to suburban Fort Worth, Haslet specifically. I did my due diligence and as much research as I could. I could barely find anything about it good or bad. So far everything seemed great. There are things I knew and expected and things I didn't foresee and couldn't have known without actually living here. I have children. Northwest ISD is supposed to be in the top 15 percent of the state. My son's middle school was great for the most part but it was overcrowded with twice the capacity of children, there was tons of fighting which I didn't expect in a place like this it was pretty much like a glammed up school in the hood. The school itself was good but many of the children that were attending clearly didn't come from good homes. Even where I live apparently it's "low income" housing in the suburbs and the kids are very ghetto and violent. They keep trying to start trouble with mine and pretty much if I wanted to be around extra hood people I'm sorry I could have stayed in the Bronx and had better transportation and been near my family I'm happy with my apartment but not the people I live around or the fact that they didn't even know us despite us minding our business and they kept bullying my son who was not even in their grade and literally twerking by the pool in this gated community. It's literally a high end hood rat habitat and I could have stayed up north in a smaller apartment but with more mobility and transportation options. If I was gonna live in the suburban "hood," I could have stayed in a real one and had a better chance with my kids going to a private school like I did Fortunately there are lots of options here for school that was the saving grace. Where I moved is great if you don't have kids but if you do apparently Haslet is still Fort Worth and it brings in kids from Denton county too I'm so thankful I don't have to send my son to school every day coming home every day to tell me kids want to fight him and upload to TH-cam. I did not move all the way to TX from NY for this! Virtual school is ok but we might homeschool. Saving grace too is it's homeschool friendly which we really need. I'm glad i rent because if I paid property tax to live in even the nice part of Fort Worth I'd be super upset to send my son to schools like where I just removed him We stay inside all the time because we don't want to run in to any trouble with our neighbors. I'm always in constant worry mode they may try to assault us and I'll call the cops in a quick minute If this is the "nice part" of Fort Worth thankfully I didn't move to the actual city. This really concerns me especially for people looking to buy homes here that are sold a dream and delivered a nightmare!
This really seems like a you problem. If your son uses the vernacular you do, I'm not surprised other children are upset with him. Please learn to be a better person so he can be also. I'm sure you'll get offended by this instead going "huh, maybe I should think about how I treat people and I should choose my words more carefully."
@@ashleymason9290 we literally mind our business and don't bother anyone. My son is autistic. You don't even know what happened or us from a can of beans and you're jumping to conclusions My son was perceived as weak due to his clear differences as a special needs child He was failed by NY and after doing a little research before coming here I had higher hopes which were shot down rather quickly. These "fine young ladies" with no supervision who aren't even in high school were at our complex unabashedly twerking at the pool on social media in front of FAMILIES trying to enjoy the pool. Not only did these two same young ladies in particular do that but they also literally fought each other in a big BRAWL with at least 10 other teenagers on this property which had me in utter disbelief and that's an understatement. Based on their behavior I thought they were much older than my child so I figured we wouldn't interact any further but they were also in the middle school. As a parent with kids in this age range I would never allow my kids to be so out of control for many reasons. It's actually quite a shame. I do pity them because yes they are children and they can't help it because clearly they don't come from good homes and that only invites trouble when you intermingle or allow your kids to intermingle with people like that which is completely neglectful honestly. So frankly, as a reasonably minded person and a caring parent after a month I had to pull my kids out of the schools for their own safety because these same two girls who aren't even in my son's grade but literally bully all the other kids at the complex especially my son the new kid who has clear differences These "fine young ladies" thought it was a good idea to bully an autistic kid at school not even in their grade, gang up with their friends and beat him up because he is "ugly" and "stupid" to them. What kind of parent would I be to tolerate this or tell my kid this CLASSLESS yes HOODRAT behavior is ok! You are straight TRIPPING lady! You don't have to understand or agree with me. We are just strangers to each other or the internet but you aren't me or my kid you haven't walked a mile in our shoes or been tortured by these kind of people which we were trying to avoid!! What upset me the most is after all the work and effort I put in before coming here is I felt deceived! I'm just going to continue to mind my business, take care of my kids and not bother anyone and if that's "disgusting," sounds like a YOU problem. FYI, just look at the reviews of this place and literally other people experienced the same thing. In the meantime, I'm just going to peacefully finish my lease and stay away from the riff raff it's a free country I can express my opinion. Just because you don't understand or agree doesn't mean I'll keep quiet for you No more mixed income apartments that takes HUD. I'm not on it and not judging anyone that is it's the poor behavior regardless of class I have an issue with my love. Sorry this is just not my cup of tea. Have a nice day!
Fort Worth has had such a drastic increase in the cost of housing that being a landlord here has became a very dangerous living. 3 landlords murdered last year by tenants and 1 tenant murdered by a landlord. House flippers are hated here as well
I moved to another state where I am a property owner. I own property in Fort Worth too..Fort Worth is good. You must be willing to work with the councils to bring change in that city. That is for any place one take up residence.
I wish everybody in the comments that said that they have moved to Fort Worth would move out. we all miss Fort Worth the way it used to be years ago. it's just too many dang people these days living here. when you go to the store and you can't help but bump into people every time we turn around.
Girl I feel you! I moved here in July 2020 and it was no traffic! I loved it! I felt blessed. A year later there is 3x the amount of traffic and people at every turn. I love people, but I moved to Fort Worth to get away from the hustle and bustle and not run into it as soon as I step outside my front door. I thought I was a people person but I realized that is only when I feel like being one. Haha 😂
@@392scatpack3 That’s where all the homeless shelters are. The surrounding suburbs send their homeless to downtown just like how they use our County hospital without paying any taxes to help fund it. Our mayor just said on the news, that the suburbs need to help in the homeless crisis. They use our city as a dumping ground for their uninsured residents and the homeless. The suburbs don’t want to pay for homeless resources or public healthcare. The vast majority of the homeless aren’t even from Dallas.
@@214dude2 well we don't have that problem. With them coming downtown and we try to help him. Anyway we can. My sisters lived in Dallas and I don't like no parts of it. Too much going on.
I moved here 2004 from Louisiana and I loved it I’m glad I moved here vs Dallas no regrets But I can agree the crime has went up and the schools are not the best but overall I love it and definitely No Regrets here it’s the South it’s hot period
Fort Worth does seem a little behind in development. They only build roads but never build anything for the youth or family activities. There’s nothing to do here, Just restaurants and the food isn’t that great.
Agree, all they restaurants serve the same. I do say they got good ass Loaded Cheesefries tho. But fort worth really don’t have much to offer but enslavement opportunities (warehouse jobs).
I lived there for 55 years and go back often. Lived in the hard of the Hood in Southside (Fish Bowl). Was a community organizer that brought a tremendous change in the neighborhood housing..God called my parents to Fort Worth in the 60's. Fort Worth is good but it is not for the foolish or the weak at heart. I graduated from college attending from TCU and TCCCD South. Graduated with excellence in academic s. If God have not called you there then do not go.
I lived at the Berkeley by TCU and the golf course. The pool was awesome. Plus I got my own private staircase in private garage. Definitely cheaper and larger than what I get living in Milwaukee Wisconsin WI Edit I also increased my line of auto insurance in case I hit a really fancy car. And fun fact, the official song of fort Worth is,"won't you take me down, to funky Town". I grew up in Stephenville, an hour away. Our public school and athletics beat any private lame school. Also you expect fort Worth to have a separate pro sports team, hello the cowboys and the rangers are both based in the middle. In Irving / Arlington. If it travels you too much to get in the car and gas it for 1 hour to go out somewhere for fun, then you moved to the wrong state. Maybe ATL is calling your name. Texans drive faster than Atlanta. How does anyone live w no access roads? Major architect fail on that one.
population growth in TX isn't slowing down anytime soon either. This will force growth in rural areas outside of the major cities (like Frisco, TX was back in the day).
Okay, NO PROFESSIONAL SPORTS TEAMS is kind of bogus - Ft. Worth is plenty close enough to see the Rangers and Cowboys, and Dallas isn't really all that far or tough to get to. I agree with the weather and with the electricity issue, as well as traffic. All of that sucks. Crime...yeah, there are parts of town where crime is bad, but - I cycle all over this city, and I've NEVER experienced a personal safety issue. So, there's that. The Trinity Trails are reason enough for anyone who likes to ride or run to come to Fort Worth - soon, this will be a 65 mile loop from Benbrook (near Southwest side) to Dallas and back. So - forget public transportation! Get on a bike and ride from Fort Worth to Dallas and back! Fort Worth Schools are not great...but NO school system in Texas is great! I think they're poised to get better, but there are too many nutty school boards to deal with now. It'll be better in the future. I have faith in that. Fort Worth is fine! This whole area is really fine. The only complaints I really have are the electricity and the weather. Cheers!
People in FWD complaining about hot weather. HA! Come to phoenix AZ! The reason why our city is so clean is because no one can walk outside without being incinerated by the laser beams emitting from the AZ Sun. Do you not see our flag?
Fort Worth's education system is not that bad, especially compared to other districts that are doing way worse. If you don't take the time to do your research with ANY school than your child will suffer in the end. And as for crime goes, look on the news its BAD everywhere you can go.
I was moving to Fort Worth with my brother but some things happened with his job. I still want to move but I really need a job at the moment. I tried finding a remote position that pays well so I can be employed and still have a a job when I move but I can’t seem to find a good one. Any advice?
@@livinginfortworth Everything I can think of. Indeed, zip recruiter, linked in, career builder all major job boards. I’m hoping I can find a remote job that I can work in Lubbock Texas and Dallas. Or a company that would help me relocate to Fort Worth
The thing that's wrong with fort Worth is the mentality they're still stuck in the discriminatory stages of the past. And I believe that's what stops for worth from being the great City it could be their mentality they're still stuck in that discriminatory racist mentality.
You can take public transportation to the AAC in Dallas for Stars and Mavs games. Arlington is the largest city in the country with no public transportation. And that's a sin. Especially since so much of our entertainment happens there.
Too late, I've lived here since the early 90's. It is nice to have 70° days in January, though. But I've also learned how to ride a bicycle in 100°+ temps. One good thing you didn't mention is the great trail system along the Trinity River, which is regularly getting upgraded and expanded.
Fort Worth native so take it from me and none of them I’ve been here for a year. 1)weather yes it sucks in the summers. 2)crime I mean I haven’t noticed it though I’ve noticed people moving into area that they should have checked out first. 3) yeah yall quite moving to Texas it’s super crowded. I’ve noticed the dream of owning a home has left the area hardly any and if so pay attention to the area probably most like there is a problem, not reasonably priced, or renting. 4)high electric rates ever since 2021 Ercot has raised rates and to my knowledge has not done much to upgrade. They have rolling blackouts during extreme weather conditions in certain neighborhoods. They also been approved tax payer money for upgrades in 2023 and still charging extra lol. In short retro spec the infrastructure needs some major upgrades. Lastly FWISD schools do suck. Graduated from FWISD and I missed so much on stuff compared to my sister who graduated from KISD and they were way ahead of us. So there you have it.
I've wanted to relocate to fort Worth Texas but still undecided I've never lived a tornado or a hail storm and living alone might be a worry because of larger crime rates .
I love fort worth I've thought about moving there I'm now living on the east coast I've never heard so many bad things since I've wanted to move there I'm so disappointed I never thought I d have to stay where I am ❤😢
You can commute from fort worth to dallas by bus and train, you get on tge tbus to downtown train station and get on the TRE to dallas, or Arlington, ticket is 7 bucks for tre, and i think bus went up 2.50, but for about 10 bucks u can get to dallas, and another 10 bucks back
Born and raised in Texas. I'm 78 years old and moved to Fort Worth from Mineral Wells, Fort Worth is definitely not what it used to be, roads are so, so congested. Not good
Perhaps it is not well known, but the TRE train travels From Fort Worth every day, and in fact stops in front of the American Airlines Center where the Dallas Mavericks play,
I loved living there, but I hate how the culture has been ruined. Texas is a no state income tax state and it many large companies have moved their HQ’s or opened plants / warehouses etc…into the state. As a result, people from all over the country traveled with their jobs and are now implants in Texas. I always felt like the Yankees and Californians that came, looked down on us and our love or our culture, slow pace and way of life and have bastardized Texas culture.
Totally agree. A lot of them want to move to Texas to get away from their culture/taxes/problems but they just bring that stuff with them and don't assimilate well.
No offense ma'am but that's damn near through all of Texas not just Fort Worth so don't get your high Mighty ass on here and start putting down cities and you know you're a realtor cuz you could be dismissed and canceled talking about other people's cities that they love
Laughs in south florida. 20 days of 100+ we have 100+ days of 100+. Hurricanes daily thunderstorms and crime. Like all places it has its ups and down. Besides nobody moves to ftw they live in ftw but travel to dallas
Dallas is losing its luster and Fort Worth is growing much faster than Dallas. The population is starting to even out between the two cities however all the suburbs are growing rapidly.
@@r.pres.4121 im in DFW like twice a month and i have to agree ft worth is definitely growing quick. I just hope that texas stays texas and doesnt become like that austin place 🤮
Whether you like it or not, Fort Worth is a major city that is going to keep growing. Dallas is losing its luster and Fort Worth is growing way faster than that city. Fort Worth is in the exact same boat as Austin, both are growing too fast but there is no stopping it. So get used to it.
Why haven't you moved? First of all Every city has it's advantage's and disadvantage's I was born and raised in Fort Worth and I am so glad that's it's growing if this city is that horrible why are people moving here I love my city and to anyone that see this that is her experience because again if Fort Worth is that horrible she still live's here this is crazy to tell people this stuff but her azz is still here!
Austin is horrendously overrated and very expensive. I lived in the Texas capital city for almost ten years and hated the damned place. Most unfriendly city I have ever lived in.
I agree with some of the comments.I've been back here since January 1981 and Ft Worth was better then...eaiser to get around. 1980 census population was only 385,000. I don't mind growth. But the way some of the transplants drive they act as though they own Texas and the southern plains they often tailgate like they're telling you ..get outta my way Ft Worth is not that big by car if they reasonably drive they'll get there. I drove around LA in the early to mid 1970s when city population was 3 million and back then LA county was 7.5 million and assure you people didn't drive crazy unfortunately I suppose the world is getting too crazy in some aspects
THERE ARE PLENTY OF SIDE WALKS IN FORT WORTH,TEXAS AS WELL AS THRIFT STORES AND INCOME BASED APTS.MY ONE BEDROOM APT.IS ONLY $715.00 WITH NO UTILITIES! MY DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND LIVE IN FORT WORTH.😊😃😀😄😄😝😝☺☺
I can see most the points you made applying to all the DFW area. You make it sound like FW is isolated like San Antonio or something. FW is part of DFW. The schools are the only issue, there is do agree. But all those other issues people will experience as well if they move to Arlington, HEB, Dallas, Irving, etc. Even up in Plano and Frisco. And Arlington is right there next to FW, just a drive down 30 to watch a game. Plano and all those other areas up north don't have sports teams either. And lastly, I am a single woman living in a house alone in FW, I feel perfectly safe.
This is extremely negative about Fort Worth. The Texas Rangers (World Series Champions) and Dallas Cowboys are right next door in Arlington and yes you can get public transportation to and from Arlington. Remember TRE?
Inerstate 35 is horrible. Crime is too and weather . I had o fix 4 times a fence and a roof after living here for 6 yes. Yes, electricity does go out a lot.

Come to Colorado. Your road infrastructure is good. The yield signs and frontage roads mess with me. I'd prefer yield over stop signs
All the sports teams being 30 miles away isn't a disadvantage, because the areas close to those stadiums are a circus during game time. .

Oooppss I'll be adding to the Rig increase if u come🤣🤣🚛🚛🚛
Fort Worth was a happier place before all those warehouses were up 😢

There's nothing wrong with Ft. Worth. I've lived here for over 2 years. It is hot but you can stay inside. Crime is everywhere. There's lots of museum's, parks, gardens. There's a cool zoo. IV lived in Texas for years and years. None of the things she's talking about isn't a deal breaker.
Thanks for sharing Joni! Totally agree with you.
Lots of traffic now.
I've been here 8 years & every point she's mentioned is valid.

Rare to find folks born & raised in FW these days that haven’t moved.

Been living in Fort Worth for over ten years now and I love it. The Funk is a nice place to live especially the far north area, which is steadily growing. There are good school districts outside of Fort Worth ISD.

Where?
@chantel woods I live off Marine Creek Pkwy, but anywhere north of I-820 is nice.
In regard to public transportation, I use the TRE train everyday from Fort Worth to Dallas and it’s extremely convenient.

The bad:
Thanks Kevin
I moved here from Tampa FL 5 years ago and have been doing well since. The only thing I miss from there is the frequent rain. It's definitely more dry here. As for traffic, it's waaaay better here than big cities in Florida. I would be stuck in traffic for hours, while here there are plenty of other routes to take to avoid it. Never really had an issue with it. And housing/apartments are cheaper here than over there, with a LOT more job opportunities. You definitely have more room to grow here in Fort Worth vs other cities of similar size.
Glad you love living here!
Thats so crazy im planning on moving from Tampa as well i was anxious I thought about more opportunities cheaper rent n u validated everything for me thanks ❤

The part of K-12 education is stark, but higher education also I think is a pro. We have the UNTHSC Med school and TCU med school, TCU, Texas Wesleyan, Texas A&M law school etc. I think there are many higher education opportunities in Fort Worth!
Yes higher ed has a lot of great options in FW

So glad you love the area. Where’d you relocate from?
@@livinginfortworth I lived in Dallas for a couple years until I found my house in ft worth. I’m originally from Memphis,TN. I moved here in 2015
Moved Fort Worth October 2020.
The Alliance area is growing with a ton of commercial & residential
Fort Worth, it is worth it to live here. I come from up close by New York way and there are tons of people from the North and California moving here to get away from REAL crime. Yeah, the cost of living is going up and rent and such as people move here but this is at least a town where people tend to help each other, and I love the cowboys I see walking around downtown because they are so polite as well as this being a God loving town. I like it here. So it's hot. The weather stinks wherever you go these days.
So many ppl love FW. Totally depends on what you're looking for and FW has lots of great areas/neighborhoods
Any day GOD has made, is never a bad day. Regardless of the heat.
Oddly enough, the warm hearts of Texans make it that much cooler.

So many Californians relocating to the area as well
Go back
I prefer anywhere than Commifornia
Ok

You won’t enjoy it here though if your hobbies are mostly outdoors
depends on what you like for sure

Fort Worth is about 33 miles west of a major city. For some people, that's a little too far away.
Had a client that love the Rangers so much he didn’t want to live in FW. He wanted Arlington so he could Uber to the games. Bought season tickets
Fort Worth is a major city, what are you talking about.
I'm moving out of the Ft.Worth area because of everything seen on this video. I'm glad she is letting people know about the crime and road congestion. It's terrible. Been here 38 yrs.But I need a more peaceful place to live.
Every city has these problems. It's not a escapeable problem. 😐

I live on the high plains of Texas, peaceful other than wind. People are great. I will never understand why people want to live in highly populated cities.

Thanks for sharing.
They keep trying to start trouble with mine and pretty much if I wanted to be around extra hood people I'm sorry I could have stayed in the Bronx and had better transportation and been near my family
I'm happy with my apartment but not the people I live around or the fact that they didn't even know us despite us minding our business and they kept bullying my son who was not even in their grade and literally twerking by the pool in this gated community.
It's literally a high end hood rat habitat and I could have stayed up north in a smaller apartment but with more mobility and transportation options. If I was gonna live in the suburban "hood," I could have stayed in a real one and had a better chance with my kids going to a private school like I did
Fortunately there are lots of options here for school that was the saving grace. Where I moved is great if you don't have kids but if you do apparently Haslet is still Fort Worth and it brings in kids from Denton county too
I'm so thankful I don't have to send my son to school every day coming home every day to tell me kids want to fight him and upload to TH-cam. I did not move all the way to TX from NY for this!
Virtual school is ok but we might homeschool. Saving grace too is it's homeschool friendly which we really need. I'm glad i rent because if I paid property tax to live in even the nice part of Fort Worth I'd be super upset to send my son to schools like where I just removed him
We stay inside all the time because we don't want to run in to any trouble with our neighbors. I'm always in constant worry mode they may try to assault us and I'll call the cops in a quick minute
If this is the "nice part" of Fort Worth thankfully I didn't move to the actual city. This really concerns me especially for people looking to buy homes here that are sold a dream and delivered a nightmare!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
This really seems like a you problem. If your son uses the vernacular you do, I'm not surprised other children are upset with him. Please learn to be a better person so he can be also. I'm sure you'll get offended by this instead going "huh, maybe I should think about how I treat people and I should choose my words more carefully."
Calling children "hood rats" and "ghetto " is just gross.
@@livinginfortworth Please don't thank her. This is disgusting.
@@ashleymason9290 we literally mind our business and don't bother anyone. My son is autistic. You don't even know what happened or us from a can of beans and you're jumping to conclusions
My son was perceived as weak due to his clear differences as a special needs child
He was failed by NY and after doing a little research before coming here I had higher hopes which were shot down rather quickly.
So frankly, as a reasonably minded person and a caring parent after a month I had to pull my kids out of the schools for their own safety because these same two girls who aren't even in my son's grade but literally bully all the other kids at the complex especially my son the new kid who has clear differences
These "fine young ladies" thought it was a good idea to bully an autistic kid at school not even in their grade, gang up with their friends and beat him up because he is "ugly" and "stupid" to them.
Just because you don't understand or agree doesn't mean I'll keep quiet for you
No more mixed income apartments that takes HUD. I'm not on it and not judging anyone that is it's the poor behavior regardless of class I have an issue with my love. Sorry this is just not my cup of tea. Have a nice day!

Honestly fort Worth is not going to be everybody's cup of tea. For me it's just average.
Which metroplex cities would you recommend?
Fort Worth does seem a little behind in development. They only build roads but never build anything for the youth or family activities. There’s nothing to do here, Just restaurants and the food isn’t that great.
Depends on the area. 🙂
If God have not called you there then do not go.
thanks
I lived at the Berkeley by TCU and the golf course. The pool was awesome. Plus I got my own private staircase in private garage. Definitely cheaper and larger than what I get living in Milwaukee Wisconsin WI
Edit I also increased my line of auto insurance in case I hit a really fancy car.
What pro team is in Irving?
Got a feeling Texas might have to start plans to build another major city with the new crowds coming often
population growth in TX isn't slowing down anytime soon either.

Thanks!
You can ride the TRE train from downtown Fort Worth to downtown Dallas
Thanks for sharing.
I like Fort Worth. The crime not bad compare to Atlanta.
Facts
If you want real bad crime than check out either St Louis, Memphis, or New Orleans. Those three cities are far more violent than any Texas cities.
Fort Worth is the best place I ever lived ! Don't let her discourage you. She is wrong.
😀
Born and raised in Texas. I'm 78 years old and moved to Fort Worth from Mineral Wells, Fort Worth is definitely not what it used to be, roads are so, so congested. Not good
Thanks for watching
Perhaps it is not well known, but the TRE train travels From Fort Worth every day, and in fact stops in front of the American Airlines Center where the Dallas Mavericks play,
Great point!
Charleston white put forth worth on the map
🤔
I loved living there, but I hate how the culture has been ruined. Texas is a no state income tax state and it many large companies have moved their HQ’s or opened plants / warehouses etc…into the state. As a result, people from all over the country traveled with their jobs and are now implants in Texas. I always felt like the Yankees and Californians that came, looked down on us and our love or our culture, slow pace and way of life and have bastardized Texas culture.
Lots of relocations heading our way
Totally agree.
Lol @ “No offense”
It’s the high mighty for me😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Property crime, mainly. The population growth has been overwhelming. Property taxes are terribly high.

Ft worth is a scary place. It’s gross
What city would you recommend people relocating to DFW move to?
Laughs in south florida. 20 days of 100+ we have 100+ days of 100+. Hurricanes daily thunderstorms and crime. Like all places it has its ups and down. Besides nobody moves to ftw they live in ftw but travel to dallas
Interesting.
Not me. Dallas is awful. I stay in ft worth
Did you do any research?
Thanks for asking.
Ft worth is nice!!! Moved here 4 years ago love it more than Dallas
Glad you like it!
Yes. Please do not move here. Move to Dallas. We have enough people in Fort Worth. Go somewhere else. Please!
FW will be 1M population soon
Sorry you took it personally. thanks for the in-depth comment. 👍
Crime stats shouldn't be used. Each municipality use different crime stat parameters for their reporting. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

A lot of unhappy people live here and a lot of pot smokers. It's awful. Very aggressive drivers and rude. Texas ranks a 2 out a scale of one to ten.
Appreciate your comment
Texas is an awful state. Don’t move here. If you do move here go to Austin or Dallas or Houston. Beautiful cities
What is it about Texas you don’t like?
I agree

Yes plenty of sidewalks around town!
Turn off the caps baby!!! NOW
I can see most the points you made applying to all the DFW area. And lastly, I am a single woman living in a house alone in FW, I feel perfectly safe.
thanks for the comment
This is extremely negative about Fort Worth. The Texas Rangers (World Series Champions) and Dallas Cowboys are right next door in Arlington and yes you can get public transportation to and from Arlington. Remember TRE?
Your comment is appreciated
Inerstate 35 is horrible. Crime is too and weather . I had o fix 4 times a fence and a roof after living here for 6 yes. Yes, electricity does go out a lot.
