Glad Fort Worth is my hometown. Grew up on west side, Arlington Heights, enlisted in Marines from here, 1954. after traveling the world -including being a radio deejay in the 1960s in NYC- my wife (Houston native) and I retired back here in 2002.

As someone who has spent his whole life in most parts of Texas, I can say that Fort Worth is easily the nicest TOWN to grow up and raise a family....as long as you never travel east of Six Flags....LOL.

Jimmy Stewart "got lucky" discovering Ft. Worth because of Strategic Air Command and the Carswell AFB, I'm sure of it. Sweet surprise to find his voice narrating.

I will always love Fort Worth. It's my hometown. Because of work, we had to move to Austin after living here for our first 53 years. As any city, Fort Worth has its great points and not-so-great points. But all in all it's a great city to raise a family and if you're into the arts. Fort Worth's cultural district is 2nd to none. But, it's vastly different from this 1974 video. The demographics have changed. The population is becoming younger. The people are highly educated, more inclusive, more forward-thinking. It's changed. Some think for the better; some think for the worse.

My boss in Denton (TX) mentioned Van Cliburn and I think my boss was more into easy listing music than Classical.

Born and raised here. Now I am sadly seeing the city becoming ruined with outsiders, lack of values, crime, overinflated property values, trash, etc.

This is what happens when you are not mindful of who is moving in and the changing demographics

Born and raised here. Skyrocketing increases of property appraisals valves causing higher taxes, increased insurance premiums, etc.❤🇺🇸❤
