Val is basically an idol for Riley. It’s like if you meet your idol, it’s not that you have a crush on them you are just a big fan and obviously want to be liked.
And it makes sense why Riley is nervous around her, because she is her hero and she’s popular and never wanted to make herself look like an idiot.
But everything has to be sexual for those ppl, even a KIDS MOVIE.
Production said she was gay but straight people would get made so they changed the movie and made her straight so people wouldn't hate her
Pixar made a whole short about Riley going out with a boy, there was a Mount Rushmore scene where instead of the president, it was Riley’s 4 favorite boys (including the boy from the Pixar short)

She's not gay. All of her crushes have been guys thus far. Also, she just looks up to Val because Val is the "cool popular girl." She's trying to impress Val because she wants Val to like her and include her. And Envy likes Val because Envy means to want what someone else has, just like Riley wants to be like Val. Believe me. As a teenage girl myself I know what this is like. If she was Les or Bi there would be more signs of a crush, such as daydreaming about Val, always glancing at her from the corner of her eye, or more crush-like things.

If she "burnt a hole in a rug," that doesn't sound like a particularly dark secret, so it could be a cover for something else. This doesn't for sure mean that the real secret is bisexcality, but it potentially could.

Is not a massive crush, it's a girl who is not popular and wishes to be popular like Val. She just wants to be her and wishes to be seen and known like her. We all at some point went through this in middle school and high school in the 80s and 90s and some still do. Now what was teen peer pressure and wanting to fit in is considered gay 🙄 no, not EVERYTHING is gay.
If you watch Inside out.1 and Inside out.2 back to back, you can clearly see that Riley's romantic intrest is boys.

I didn't admit that I liked guys until I was like 20 years old. I liked girls only until I was 16 because I knew I was supposed to like them and truly I thought I liked those girls but I was wrong and that caused me to never have a relationship until I was 22 years old because it still took some time before I accepted it to be my truth and to act on my feeling due to the fear that people would judge me.
Sure I'm not saying she can be lesbian in upcoming movies, I actually thought she was going to turn lesbian in inside out 2.
I do think that Riley might be bisexual, but none of her actions except really liking how Val looks can be considered as hints to that. Your reasoning is a bit far fetched, especially the panick attack being partially caused by letting Val down
This part of Inside Out was about puberty, frienship, and goals in life, not about the sexuality stuff yet. While I would love for the Inside Out 3 to be about that, this part is just not, and it doesn't make it any worse

She’s not gay. There are many reasons where it proves she’s straight. She may be gender-fluid or non binary (I believe that too). She may be bi just prefers boys more. Also she likes Val as a friend. I saw it today, i think that the theory of her different emotions genders i think this is Pixar telling us that she is different from others all around her, meaning either non-binary or liking both, and the blushing with Val and trying to impress seems does like a crush. This film was very relatable for me, so i really enjoyed it, made me realise stuff about myself.

As a lesbian who is now in her 50s, it just warmed my heart to see a childhood movie that I can relate to. It would have made such a difference for me if this was something I saw as teenager.
