I agree with you on the crab being better than the armadillo (at least given the information that we have so far, that's still subject to change, of course). If they wanted to add wolf armor, they could just make it craftable with leather or other materials. Introducing a whole new mob just for that makes the armadillo look like a "secondary" thing. New mobs should feel unique and have value in and of themselves, not just enhance other mobs
In defense of the armadillo, it does give a unique mob to the savannah and possibly the mesa/badlands biome while the crab would be the second unique mob in the mangrove.
I am a builder who build mostly farms but I think the armadillo is still better and I think the third one might been better than the crab and armadillo but we just had to wait until tomorrow
Honestly the fact the armadillo can lead to wolf armour. I feel like that’s the expected winner. The other mobs won’t be able to compete with dog armour. Anything to keep the loyal companions safe

I feel like the Armadillo would also bring the possibility of other armors for wolves too, not just the armadillo scute. So maybe we could combine the armor with the various ingots to make tougher armor, and then maybe even have them available to use the trims on as well.

I would love to have Crabs to call them Caramejos instead of Crabs and better building abilities, but i would love to have Armadillos because savanna biomes are so empty and I always spawn near one in literally every new world I create...
the crabs don't do anything, just being able to place blocks a little higher just saves you the 2 secondes you have to spend putting dirt under you, and it's a rare mob in a rare biom and you'll need to farm it multiple times to get a claw. Meaning that the time spent on getting it won't even be worth the effort as putting a dirt block will still be faster armadillo bring a new usefull feature, potentially making wolves finally viable as combat partners as they'll stop dying for getting sneezed at. Give something usefull in the bare and Boring savana biom. Are cute. And if we're lucky we might be able to enchant it, making wolves even better with things like thorns
If the armadillo will spawn in the badlands/mesa biome, then it gets my vote. I think the mesa biome is so pretty, but it's so bereft of life, I'd love there to be passive/neutral mobs native to that biome.
While I do like the idea of the crab being able to build a little further away maybe they could also make it so that you can also fight from farther away as well but I think the wolf armor is what we need because I'm pretty sure people have been wanting this for years and countless mods have been made with wolf armor so it's clearly a popular idea. While at the same time adding a brand new mob so of course that would be a better choice. However I would not be against the crab winning because I'm like it's still useful. Much prefer the armadillo though it also gives more life to Savannahs

the armadilo is cute and all but what about a storage overhaul/lupdate that adds actual bags for storing items inside that you can carry with you at all times(think of it as a predecessor to barrels& shulker boxes, enderchest), with each stage of progression increasing the bag capacity and giving unique effects for each one, this is an early game craft made from leather at its starting point going up to diamond tier in normal progression the extra tiers such as neterite tier& ender tier + another feature: the ability to bind 3 potions of same type together by using a item crafted with string reinforced string, this binding would not only work with normal consumable potions but probable and lingering potions as well, following the same criteria of the above (there would be a configuration in the menu about if the last 2 should be able to be tied together) this would make preparing to fight stronger mobs simpler due to less inventory management on the fly
I kinda wish Mojang would add/create more fantasy-like creatures vs real animals. Or at least, make them creatively interesting, like the 🐝 or 🕷️. I still do like the real animals like the 🐏 and 🦙. Although, I do like the design of these new contenders; especially the 🦀.

My prediction for mob 3 is a seal / walrus kind of mob, and I'll explain why: 1) it has to be an aquatic mob. Mojang decided to sail for a reason, and we've had 1 land based mob already, it wouldn't make sense for this to be a land based mob. 2) the warm ocean biomes already have a ton of mobs, dolphins, tropical fish and pufferfish. Frozen oceans just have salmon and polar bears. They need more content anyway. 3) the theme is cute, and what is cuter than sea puppies? Also they're playful, so they would literally be the cold water mirror to dolphins. 4) the other theme is mobs in niche biomes, frozen ocean and ice spikes would fit that niche, like how crabs are "beaches" and armadillos are "warm, dry but not too dry biomes" My only issue is I can't think of a unique item they would drop or what it would do. Also the other way to interpret this is mojang are offering biome exclusive mobs to biomes that don't already have an exclusive mob yet, and obviously frozen ocean has the polar bear., whereas beach and savannah don't have exclusive mobs.
Tbh I think Mojang are trying to add location specific mobs to the game, so I'm not expecting any new mobs that can spawn in a wide variety of places, and I think the 2 mob vote candidates support that. However if we're going by previous mob vote candidates, then let's face it, the third candidate will be a golem that fits with the update. I mean copper golem then tuff golem. What now, the boat golem? You could call it the boatem for short, and then put them in a hole called the boatem hole. That's it, we need mojang to add a mob called boatem to Minecraft.
I genuinely hate mob votes more than anything else in this entire game. Mojang has known that the community has been begging for wolf armor for years and years now and instead of just doing what the community has been begging for, they put it to a vote just to make people angry at each other. Minecraft is the biggest game of all time and there is seriously no reason why they just can't release three mobs per content update.
I think they would let us upgrade the wolf armor by putting any armor -crafting material all around the shell. So iron wolf armor, gold wolf armor, diamond wolf armor, ect. This would put more people at ease and make server wars with horses and dogs more fun and long-lasting.

Wolfs are really underpowered and just need a buff in general, the crab seems like the better option because this would make building easier and might also affect pvp which would make it essential to have
Actually there are some Species that live in Rainforests. For Example the Giant Armadillo. I guess though that they'll probably be limited to Savanna, Desert and Badlands in the Game

I CANNOT CHOOSE AAAAA. I love the crab, I think the extra reach would be useful, especially since I like building. But the armadillo is soooo cute, and I would love armor for my puppers. I personally right now am on Team Armadillo, but I'll have to see the third mob to finally choose. Why can't they just add them all
In my opinion, the crab will win (unless the third mob is amazing) in a landslide. I would also vote the crab, because of the PvP opportunities. Because, if the claw is going to be put in your off hand slot, then you have to choose between a shield and the claw.
They should just add the armadillo whether or not it wins. We'll have to wait and see what the third is going to be like though before I can really cement armadillo as my choice
You gotta see the big picture, the armor may ONLY be for pet wolf, not anything else. If that's the case, then we're limiting ourselves. If we do crab, we could use its claws to build farther, which would be so much more useful.. just keep that in mind!
The only problem with the crab is what affects does this have on the game as a whole how would bedrock use the item would it take the place of a piece of armor sense bedrock has the pocket edition which doesn’t even have offhand yet as well as the fact that we on bedrock have a further reach will mojang increase Java and then give them the extension or will it lock a block people on bedrock have till you get the claw

The crab claw is useless. While with the dog armor now you can be more confident on taking your wolf everywhere instead of just sitting there in your house, especially if you can enchant it.
I think not many players use dogs for fighting or defense. Most often it is an decoration or a friend sitting in the corner of the house. Crab claw is much more useful to me, but if the armadillo wins, I won't be too mad, only a bit sad
@@amiramir-bp9uq its more useless in creative, you are already flying. how useful is going to be to have 1 or 2 more blocks of range. it wouldn't replace scaffolding and is only taking one more slot of your inventory even if it's on the second slot where you can have pickaxe or axe to remove fast. it would be better to have armadillo and request increased range in creative without the need of items if that's what you want.

Savanna biome isn’t really useful now. It needs more unique mobs like armadillo, while crab will add more for already good swamp biome I’ll choose armadillo

Wolves with armor would likely still be useless. Horses with armor still die pretty fast.

Better building abilities seems like an infinitely more useful addition to the game than a mob that can give you wolf armour

The bedrock edition speed bridging will be simple as water in minecraft i will take the crab
while extended reach is useful I don't think its as desireable as dog armor. still dog armor can be added anyway as regular loot
The armadillo doesn’t affect much of the game just scroll through chats and you’ll see very good augments for the crab.
The armadillo adds to the savanna and gives dogs a purpose the crab just makes it so you don’t have to place two dirt blocks every now and then

why doesn't mojang just add a bunch of new, interesting things to the game without telling everyone what they are? that way people can actually explore and enjoy it rather than read about it in an article update.

Wolfs are really underpowered and just need a buff in general, the crab seems like the better option because this would make building easier and might also affect pvp which would make it essential to have

Actually there are some Species that live in Rainforests. For Example the Giant Armadillo. I guess though that they'll probably be limited to Savanna, Desert and Badlands in the Game
This one is more like a tatú ball that lives only in savannas, even if I'm not mistaken
I’d be okay with armadillos as long as we get to see Mighty the Armadillo

How hard is it to just add all the mobs since people like them all?
So far, we have either the crab or the armadillo to choose from. I think the latter would be much more fun to have in-game. I wonder what the third mob could be 😮
I CANNOT CHOOSE AAAAA. I love the crab, I think the extra reach would be useful, especially since I like building. But the armadillo is soooo cute, and I would love armor for my puppers. I personally right now am on Team Armadillo, but I'll have to see the third mob to finally choose. Why can't they just add them all

In my opinion, the crab will win (unless the third mob is amazing) in a landslide. I would also vote the crab, because of the PvP opportunities. Because, if the claw is going to be put in your off hand slot, then you have to choose between a shield and the claw.
The claw might not Change pvp because they specificity say building blocks

IRL Armadillos are FAST! They arent tortoises. They are mammals with long legs.
You gotta see the big picture, the armor may ONLY be for pet wolf,

The only problem with the crab is what affects does this have on the game as a whole how would bedrock use the item would it take the place of a piece of armor sense bedrock has the pocket edition which doesn’t even have offhand yet as well as the fact that we on bedrock have a further reach will mojang increase Java and then give them the extension or will it lock a block people on bedrock have till you get the claw
But with a whole army of wolves with basically prot 4 (I hope) you'll be able to bring your wolf to help in tough battles, especially early game.

nope. I bring my wolves out even in the current version. (Even if it gets them killed lmao). Wolf armor would make it hella fun to massacre mobs at night while listening to music.
I only use wolfs for PvP because of their breed ability and adding armor would make it so much better

The crab claw is useless. While with the dog armor now you can be more confident on taking your wolf everywhere instead of just sitting there in your house, especially if you can enchant it.

I think not many players use dogs for fighting or defense. Most often it is an decoration or a friend sitting in the corner of the house. Crab claw is much more useful to me, but if the armadillo wins, I won't be too mad, only a bit sad

@@amiramir-bp9uq its more useless in creative, you are already flying. how useful is going to be to have 1 or 2 more blocks of range. it wouldn't replace scaffolding and is only taking one more slot of your inventory even if it's on the second slot where you can have pickaxe or axe to remove fast. it would be better to have armadillo and request increased range in creative without the need of items if that's what you want.
