Looks like a nice straight body on this example. Interior suffers from the typical heat stroke of a southern car. The M62tU 99-03 sees more torque off the line and better mileage. Exhaust wise the the M62TU has 4 cats, 2 manifold primaries and two secondary mid body cats. The Vanos gears do not rebuild all that well so the added cost of $650 x2 vanos gears hurts compared to the M62/M60. The car you are driving there spares you these two gears with the M62 non vanos; exhaust wise the car only has the mid body cats and uses the manifold headers that are used in the M5 E39. Great looking car! Keep it factory just say no to cheap mods :)
A friend has one of these but an early 1995 model with the M60B40 and the non-steptronic 5HP. They're phenomenally comfortable and surprisingly good handling! There's a sense of subdued luxury in these, it's very hard to put into words.
@@lightning5273 His own labor. It would have been a lot more had he paid people. Which is where these older luxury cars can start to eat away at your life savings.
Owner here! Thanks for reviewing the ole girl. So much fun! 🤍💙🤍💙
It was a lot of fun!
Dope video! This thing was nice to drive. Old school vibes and crazy quiet on the highway
@rightminddrive Big old-school luxury vibes.
Beautiful Machine 😊 I own same year same body 117K and absolutely love it 😊

Awesome info! +1 on no to cheap mods. They always ruin the cars.

@@nvl2691 I think you worded it perfectly. It's nice in a lot of hard to quantify ways.
E39 and E38, the best ever to come out of Munich ❤
@gertstolk 2 of the best looking cars ever made imo.
Curious if the 4 grand was with his labor or someone elses.

You should try and find an X5 4.8is, I'd be very curious as to what you think of these
@nvl2691 That would be a fun drive! I heard some of those have 6 speed manuals too.
