Bobby has done so well in his life. Hugely successful in his chosen career. A beautiful loving wife and family and an incredible home. Plus the love of millions of fans. Great man 👍
Bobby dug holes and laid floors. Then he took up darts......6 months later he’d won The News of the World Darts Championship in 1979, receiving the cup from Diana Dors.
There are a lot of great dart players that are not great teachers of the game. Taking dart lessons from Mr. George would be very helpful and educational. Nobody knows more about the game and I really like his style of teaching. Very engaging. definitely gonna watch the rest of the vids in this series.
The best bit of advice in this, if you're going to start playing pub darts, is the last bit about timing and pacing yourself. It's not until you play a really slow player, that you find out just how frustrating it is.
I think it’s all about good practise. But as you rightfully mention about Jocky, even Lorraine Winstanley, who probably has the worst ‘follow through’ in the ladies game but she throws superb darts on her day.
He is then able to propel the dart and his hand in an upwards direction. Only then can he concentrate on using the same force to throw with each time and to ensure that he follows through with his hand on each throw! Following through keeps the dart following a straight line! To be able to do what I have described above, every player has to find a position to throw his dart from and this may be unique, so copying other players may be misleading! Players do these things to make money- not to help
This is a brilliant demonstration of how to teach - not only a natural gift for darts, but a natural gift on how to explain something clearly and patiently.
I'm late to the party but this man is an absolute legend. He gets his point across like only a champion could. Hope the other parts are online as well.
at 7:29 George gets irritated with this guy. I'm a body language expert, and watch George as he scratches his head in one spot very aggressively. It's a dead-giveaway.
This guy should have been an army sniper. When I was in a London hackney taxi the driver leaned back and said ....wot was that guvner? As a Scotsman I thought it was pure class .Love this accent .What you see is what you get with good old Bobby. In Scotland it's the same when you are in Glasgow and head up the west coast. Real people.
I really like the tip of walking past the oche as if you are waiting for another player to throw! Will try this as its a mistake I have been doing in practice!
@QuickQuickSlowSlow55 lmao Bobby was a Nightclub Bouncer, but he also worked as a floor layer and a builder before he took up darts professionally at the age of 30. He even built his own 18 bedroom mansion, George hall.
when the darts shit hit the fan,Bobby stayed loyal to the BDO, and did not go after the big bucks,he was a gentleman and did what he thought was the right thing.
He made big bucks from sponsors and exhibitions.he made more money than the guys winning tournaments. Thats basically why the wdc was formed because the players were losing thr livelihoods because the bdo wasnt pushing tv tournaments/ prize money etc. And pdc has only been big bucks recently
I enjoyed this but one thing I disagree with is when you have a practice board at home is getting the lighting, distance, positioning spot on. Reason is when you play in darts leagues you sometimes have to be versatile. Sometimes the lighting's bad (they aren't gonna change it for you), sometimes the measurements aren't spot on ( they won't get the screwdriver out just for you) sometimes they have a mat that keeps moving, and some places have a board in a corner so you can only throw from one side. Better to have a rough old board and bad lighting for practice so if you go to a venue that's well set up it's a bonus.
Blimey! I thought my mate Emmo was the only with CLOTH EARS, didn't you hear him, from the BULL to the OCHE at an ANGLE is 115 inches...he's absolutely correct
@@straighteight9154 and Bobby have hit 3 bulls for the money. 5' 8'' from the floot to the center of the bullseye. 7' 9.25'' is the throwing distance from the face of the dartboard. 115.5'' is the measuring distance from the center of the bullseye to the correct throwing distance 'line'. Note:- The 3rd measurement is the best way to make sure that you have the correct throwing distance, since alot of people make the mistake of measuring 7' 9.25'' throw line from the wall that the dartboard is mounted on, instead of measuring from the face of the dartboard for the right distance.
two times news of the world winner!!! winning a best of 3 legs defunct paper championship 20 years ago, does not make u a master. bobby is the king of bottlers, and thats all. phil Taylor is a master, pencil neck.
Wen its best of 3 legs you cant make any mistakes . The news of the world will always be prestigious it was basically the first world championship. What a legend 👍
Love the sound of his voice, what a great guy full of wisdom
Bobby George, you’re a diamond.
Bobby's voice is really cool, like some guy from Lock, Stock and Two Smokin' Barrels!!!
KRAZEEIZATION Yeah, like the tough Alan Ford!
It's a smokers voice
Bobby should do video game voice overs.
a.k.a just someone from London

Bobby George is on point with his logic👍
that living space is beautiful, full bar, pool table and nice darts setup, things dreams are made of.

My aim in life is for Bob to watch me play and say “good boy” 👴🏻
Lol
Bobby's a pure gentleman
especially if you have checked the lovely shows when he's in India, Japan and China
Great lecture.
Also: I wanna see Paul Whitehouse as Bobby George.
I swear this guy gave me a quest when I joined the dark brotherhood
which character are you talking about?
Very successful business man as well as a top dart player
I did not know how his voice sounds before i watched the video and the moment he starts talking he sounded exactly the way i thought he sounds xD
Bobby George is a legend
He's won tournaments and he got to two world finals.
I suspect that's not a bad CV for a darts teacher.
Looks like they are in a Wetherspoons lookin’ at that carpet.
He's a good teacher.\m/
That guy is not a novice!
defeat gravity?
Right heittfff. Nice one bobby
Bellissimo video,Grazie
this is so funny but great
I like frowing darts too!
I like how he was so adamant about no snatching the darts yet Jocky Wilson won 2 world championships doing exactly that
Jocky is legendary for his action being completely "wrong". Clearly, it worked for him, but you wouldn't teach anyone to throw like that.
@@paulie-g I dont think you can teach anyone how to throw atall, it's something you've gotta work out yourself
Have you not seen Dave Chisnall lol

You’d think he could hit one 20
68 inches doesn't seem right. That's only 5'. 6".
68 inches is correct. 5 feet 8 inches!
ted101010 Yeah my mistake. I divided 68 by 12.
This is a brilliant demonstration of how to teach - not only a natural gift for darts, but a natural gift on how to explain something clearly and patiently.
This is one of the most helpful instructions I have watched on TH-cam. Thank you!
Agree that was i was thinking
Bobby George is such a class bloke, not only does he know the game exceptionally well, he explains it such that anyone can make sense of it.
I'm late to the party but this man is an absolute legend. He gets his point across like only a champion could. Hope the other parts are online as well.

His voice is beautiful! The white Barry white 😇
Good teacher as well. Fully aware of the importance of conditioned response.
Bobby is also perfectly balanced with all that gold on his neck and left wrist😂
The interviewer bloke is such a nerd
Mr. George is not a fan of him either. Read my post up above.
"Righ' eyet-th" 😂
Love Bobby!
I love Bobby George and miss Jocky and Eric.Even if we count different these days, we allways can learn a lot of those Veterans.
I feel as though if I asked Bobby to lend me a few quid the repayments would be unreasonably high
I met Bobby when he was doing a signing in my local, found him to be a really nice, warm and genuine guy. Great masterclass!
Great!!
I fish at bobbies digging ponds from time to time, generally nice bloke
Look where you're throwing and get a dartboard. That's why he gets the big bucks.
Bobby used to be a bouncer. You can see that in him..i could imagine him as a nice guy till someone gets on the wrong side of him..
gav hinds builder he used to be
@QuickQuickSlowSlow55 lmao
Bobby was a Nightclub Bouncer, but he also worked as a floor layer and a builder before he took up darts professionally at the age of 30.

Is the 115 1/2" distance from the wall or front of the dartboard; and is that to the front of the tapeline or the back where your feet are?
yes, here's a link with the details for you.

He was a builder
He's got more necklesses and bracelets on than my 3 grannys put together lol
😂
The King of Bling
What a fucking nice guy 👌
That intros a piss-take! 😂😂😂
cracking video for newbies.
Seems like a nice bloke, but he seems to have the majority of the argos jewellery selection on his left arm and neck.
This is decent advice for beginners. As he says you must be comfortable.
Yes
Very well done. I just started not too long ago and I learned alot with this video. Thanks !
You are a lucky man !
7ft 9 and a quarter inches is the correct length
yeah, thats wrong!
He says that ?
Simon Mallett you’ve commented on your own comment saying you are wrong
I never knew Bobby was a big fan of Bangladesh?
115 inches is over 9ft?
bobby george is a legend but ive been playing at 115 in for years thinking why is this game so hard. i can just bout see the tatget
