Lili Reinhart (Betty) did amazing in this episode, i'm pretty sure she used to sing covers on TH-cam when she was a teenager. the last note she sung at the very end of the episode "liiiight" was so beautiful

also, Riverdale just did it’s last musical episode called Archie the Musical and it’s definitely one of the best musical episodes the show has done (tho i’ve enjoyed all of them bc they are fun lol) so i definitely recommend that one if you wanna react to more Riverdale.
Casey Cott (Kevin) is actually a classically trained broadway performer I wish the producers gave him for chances to sing songs that play to his talents.

fun fact: the people who are singing for Polly & Charles are not actually the actor and actress, they brought in Jacquie for Tiera (Polly) and Tyson Ritter for Wyatt (Charles). i’m assuming there wasn’t enough time for Tiera and Wyatt to go into the recording studio for the episode.

Well, there are at least 3 more musical episodes (Heather's, carrie, and hedwig...and maybe one more.) Also Casey Cott (the guy with Betty with the "now" line,) is actually on broadway
To sum this up basically Betty’s sister dies and her mum goes crazy and starts having hallucinations of her dead children and thinking Betty is a bad person and she goes on a downward spiral and goes crazy and imagining they have a perfect family when their dad and brother were both serial killers and Betty’s sister got mixed up in drugs and shot goes down so riverdale just has some weird shit going on
Also the look of horror when Cole Sprouse (Jughead) started singing was hilarious

Jughead is just a nickname(I don't remember if the show ever explained why). His real name is Forsythe Pendleton Jones III.
Fun fact the girl who is singing with jughead was on glee and she played bree

Dont worry about Polly, even though shes dead she comes back to life a season later via supernatural means! Also rhe son is alive hes just a psycho who they lcoked in prison lol. She does have contact with him and visits him in jail sometimes.

Big Riverdale fan and Musical Theatre College Grad here! The thing that disappoints me most about their musical episodes is not the singing but the mixing. Like this is a huge show don’t they have money for a good music producer and team? The end of Light is sooo wonky and I’ve definitely noticed this trend since they did Carrie is season 2.
I think the song from Jesus Christ Superstar is"Everthing's Alright", which is sung by Mary Magdalene and Judas. Also, Next to Normal is my favourite musical " of the 21st century". (I can't believe I'm old enough to make that qualification!😪)
They also sang that song in the same season of Riverdale haha

Alice/Madchen might not be the strongest singer but she is one hell of an actor I could hear and feel her emotions in her voice

Cole isn't really rubatoing. He's swinging a lot but is still very strictly on beat, it feels very artificial
As a fan of the original this is so disrespectful to the original show. You not only switch the lyrics but switch the whole theme of the show. There are certain vocal Subtleties that are lost in doing what the riverdae did. I loathed the version of I'm alive and even more how they switched the vocal lines and ruined the melodies. I have less pleasant language for the writers of Riverdale

They need to leave my favourite shows alone that’s 3 now. A couple of the actors are fantastic but some are just not and the auto tune us awful
Casey Cott, Lilli and Madison were good but my god the men sucked and so did the mom. I will never forgive how they butchered I'm alive and Just Another day. Also the framing of Superboy and The Invisible girl having who ever that girl is sing Natalie's Harmony line instead of Gabe's line. I hate the writers so much for this
