I was thinking the same thing! As these units are the last of br engineering made in UK trains in the late 70s early 80s they had a good innings as usually at 30 years old they're off to the bone yard! Our railways sadly are a joke when we have to rely on foreign crap why can't we make our own again and create some decent job's for our own people!!!
The eurphenix is probably one of the best liveries on uk railways as there loco's are always looking clean and fresh! They must get washed regularly to stay this clean looking!!!
Its amazing a tractor 60 years young dragging a young pup to be scrapped. Not built today like they were in the old days

@@justinobrien3593 i agree look at the failure of the Romamian built 56s. Do we actually have the capacity anymore????

see you 508 140, you did an amazing job serving the UK
Agreed
Rest In piece 508140!
Going up to train heaven to join the southeastern 508's
Farewell 140, You did us proud here in merseyside.
Good video. First for me seeing the buckeye coupling on the 37.
I've seen buckeye when 37800 and 37884 did the southeastern 375 overhaul
Exellent
Love it 😌
Were they built at York? The unit, that is, not the 37?
Interesting route for the unit to have arrived at Crewe from the south if it was on its way to simms in south wales?
The unit and loco had been in Crewe South Yard for 2 nights. The tractor collected the unit from Birkenhead on Sunday night. 👍
Why was it scrapped? I thought they used the 508s
They’re being phased out now due to age and replaced by the class 777 units.
@@trainsplanes ah right, I thought the 777s haven’t entered service yet.
NOOOO the class 508s were my CHILDHOOD
Catch them whilst you can 👍
I swear if none get preserved or put in a train museum I will be sad
And yes catch them while you can
Was this multiple unit in a crash ? At 3:22 it looks like the front is pushed in a bit & the front right section from the front looks incomplete
No that train was not in crash its the side of the train all 507 & 508 are like that. Train what crash was 507006 & 507021 at Kirby
No Way there is two trains together
