I was here yesterday Saturday 9th March 2024 I seen the virgin class 87 and the Apt/ class 37108 the class 91 and seen the hst power car plus the 1st type metro-link Manchester tram from the 1990s I attended the toy fair it was good nice day out well worth it! good video as always 👍 👌 👏
Thinking of visiting Crewe Heritage Centre same day as non event day visit to Nantwich; need to avoid Crewe / Nantwich during the Crewe station rebuilding in advance of HS2 though!
I was there yesterday, had a great day with some lovely layouts inside. Saw 91120 being stripped while I was there. Perhaps back to IC livery? Would love to see the 87 on the mainline again with a rake of virgin Mk2s! Maybe one day
Enjoyed your presentation. Will be there in June, Rail Riders event. The Bachmann versions of 37401 and 47712 are in their respective Class presentation display cases.
I was going to go yesterday, but i forgot. I think i saw you on the railcam though, shame they don’t let you into the cabs of the locos and the coaches.
@@trainsplanes Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking that a loco that was only seven years old probably had a few miles left on the clock. Nice to see some classic British Diesel and Electric traction being well looked after. I have spent most of my life in South Wales (born in the early 60s), son of a railwayman so class 37s and 47s were bread and butter locos to me. I must say that I have enjoyed your drone videos over various railway yards etc. Keep up the good work.
I believe the 87 gave up some parts to get 87002 in main line service. If it can be justified to get it in running order, surely class 90 parts would be more suitable than those from a 91? There are some of those stored for spares nearby, although 87002, 86101, 90001 & 90002 spend most of their time just waiting to be used now, so why bother getting another running so it can just sit there? But it is just having a re-paint anyway.
I can't find much aside from it being on 12 month loan due to Europhoenix having no use for it atm. I guess they're allowing the repaint as part of that.

Super footage. That 87 in virgin livery looks beaut 👍
Is that a different 87 from the Inter City livery one owned by Locomotive Services Ltd?

Hi Nate, The 91 is being repainted in original IC colours. Agreed ref a Virgin rake - It would be nice to see at some point 🙏🤞👍
@@trainsplanes very nice! Would be nice if they repainted the MK4 and the DVT as well and have a ‘mini’ 225 set!

Was there a few years ago. Better stuff there now. A nice few hours looking around. Nice you can get in the APT
Great video, I really must get down the the HC and day on Crewe station
Thanks Chris - It’s well worth a visit 👍
37401 had yellow headcode panels when it arrived, someone has been busy with a paint brush, but not a cleaning brush !

I was surprised to see a class 88 in the collection. I think the date on the manufacturers plate was 2016.
It’s there on a temporary basis for the weekend on loan from DRS. 👍

I'm assuming that 91120 will be going into InterCity Swallow livery?
Yes - That’s the one 👌👍
@@trainsplanes Great stuff.
fantastic a place i'd love to go but a bit far and i'm old...lol
Hi David, It’s worth a visit if you can arrange it 👍
@@trainsplanes see how the weather holds, i need to see the apt, never saw it when it ran it always broke down lol
i wonder why they are stirpping the 91? Could it be to use parts to restor the 87 and get it running on the mainline perhaps?
It’s being repainted if you read the description…

Wonder if 91120 still belongs to EURO PHOENIX or if they’ve sold it already? Was it still running when it came to Crewe?

@@zacm.2342 hey if someone borrowed my car for a year and offered to put a nice new paint job on it then I think I’d say yes too xD

Was this today? I have a friend who went on Saturday so I was just wondering if you were there on Saturday.
It was yesterday - I was there around lunchtime. 👍
