    A nieche point I will accept, but I particularly liked using Bristol to Blackpool as a benchmark for range. Admittedly, this is because I grew up near Bristol and now live near Blackpool and use that journey, which I make fairly often without needing to stop as my "range test" when considering EVs so I enjoyed that.

      Terrible name. Why the Japanese have decided electric cars are best named a series of letters and numbers I don't know. It really takes away from the relatability of a car. Even 'anyone' is a terrible car name, and 'Ian-y-one' just makes it sound like it's a bit Ian-y (no offence to any Ians, but it doesn't fill me with excitement). When people talk about their Kona's or Niro's with affection it's missing a trick..

    LOOOOOOVE the measuring of the boot. Dimensions of boot and vehicle matter greatly to family buyers. That should be a standard review feature but no channel/site I've found does this as standard. Also would be even better to also check under the (often) fake boot floor and measure the loading height in the boot since manufacturers tend to measure only about seat height for stating their volume in L; and does the car have a frunk? Thanks for adding these more often in future!

    • @kiddwong4186

    Good job, Imogen.
    My Model 3 is 3 years old and I still get a little frustrated at the screen. If your finger found a real button, you'd know when it was pressed but its easy (for whatever reason) not to make things work when you really need to keep your eyes on the road. Not sure if the Honda might end up the same.
    The Model 3 comes with a lot of piano black surfaces which are easy to get finger prints and scratches on. Makes it look very "second hand" easily. The solution was to buy a custom stick on wood effect (other effects were available) cover for the big areas of piano black. Surfaces are protected. Maybe they will come up with the same for the Honda.
    Not sure about the front charge port. I can see there could be issues with that depending on where you are charging. (its less safe to reverse out of parking bays for example).
    Overall I'd say this was a better effort from Honda.

    It would be amazing to have Imogen test cars for shorter people. Battery Life sometimes gets his wife to test cars and Cindy offers a nice perspective on if it suits someone who would normally have to sit on a cushion. Speaking as someone with a 5’ tall wife.

    That was a fun watch indeed, as usual Imogen knocks the ball out of the park with her unique presenting style ... a few surprises though:
    - What, no mention of frunk/froot? Is this like a BMW?
    - Loved the gag at the end but shouldn't there be a way to open the boot from inside the car?
    Regarding naming, there must be a competition running among manufacturers (started by Audi a few years back) to make model numbers as difficult as possible. Especially with forced matches like "N for New" when was the last time a car was named "O for Old?" (Oldsmobile doesn't count)

    Shock horror it has a rear wiper!!! Good looking car & a good review but once again, like all EV's, it's going to be too expensive. BYD Atto3 is under £40k & that's too much for a car that sells for £10k less in Australia. Can't help feeling us Brits are getting ripped off big time. Missing the fish tank though 🐟

      It's why they refer to the UK as the "Treasure Island". 🙂 Does seem we're being ripped off (even the Chinese cars seem very expensive) sadly only way to get the prices cheaper is for everyone to not buy them. Guess it's pretty complicated

    • @colingoode3702
      @colingoode3702 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mrpugster Agreed. Problem is that the vast majority of EV drivers in the UK don't own their cars. They drive company lease cars or they are private PCP / HP. Anyone looking to actually spend their own cash & trade in an existing car is priced out of the market, at least for a new car. Which is why our first EV will be a used model later this year.

    Imogen says she grew up with a Honda Jazz. Great. Kids now grow up with a big SUV taking them to school, when a small hatchback would do the job much better. (Or maybe a bike or walking would do even better).

      @jordan177606 ปีที่แล้ว

      what, the early 2000's Jazzs were tiny, only 150 inches long. And children only a few years earlier were transported in massive station wagons 230in long making 15mpg highway.

    • @christill
      @christill ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jordan177606 Well, growing up in the 90s, there were lots of families in the UK and Europe going on vacation (I assume you’re American) in small cars. They did the job. Now, we’ve convinced ourselves that we need big SUVs to do the same job, which we don’t.
      It makes way more sense to have a small car that can be easy to park in daily driving, and then have the ability to go on long trips, than having a bigger car that is impractical in daily life in tight urban streets.

    Nice review of Honda's new EV. Looks similar to a lot of other SUV EV's on the market, but Honda do make reliable & well put together cars! Just one observation on the interior - what is it with manufactures using BLACK headlining these days, with alot more black on the dash/doors, it makes the interior very dark & a sombre place to be! Why the change after many, many years of them using "light" headlinnings?

    At last an effort from Honda that has usable range. Not convinced that £45,000 is a good starting price. Skoda Enyaq is better value and the VRS version is only just over £50k. Also the Tesla Model Y will out perform this in every single aspect. Still..... Well done Honda as it is miles better than Toyota's inefficient expensive disaster!
