I just want to say how much I appreciate Matt's videos explaining about chickens and showing details of the coops. They are beautiful but out of our price range, so I used Matt's generous educational videos on TH-cam to build one. We wouldn't have been able to have one like this without him providing his knowledge and experience in these great videos.

Could I throw mulched leaves in the run on occasion?
Absolutely! We recommend that, and the chickens love it.
I want to get 4 hens for my backyard. It's a small backyard (50' x 30') and fenced. I plan free range about 4 days a week. I want a coop that is comfortable for 4 hens even on days I can't free range them. Some days I work 12 hr shifts and then there is bad weather some days too. I am an older lady who wants a coop that is easy to maintain as well. They will mostly be pets, so I want good predator protection. (I want 4 very happy hens!) I live in Tennessee. What would you recommend?
