I want to replace my windshield with a new one. How do I uninstall just the windshield? I'm unable to just unscrew the screw fasteners for an easy replacement. Do I have to uninstall the whole Ferring's/straps to just replace the windshield? If so, how do I do so?
To replace just the screen on the fairing you would need to fully remove the fairing from the crossbars. To do so, you can follow the steps to install/assemble in this video in reverse order.
Hi Gabriel. You would likely need to use the 40" fairing for your Corolla, but that ultimately depends on what crossbar system you have. The best way to confirm what size you need is to measure the inner distance between the mounting bases on your roof rack in inches, and pick the fairing size that is closest to this measurement. If you can't find one that is the exact measurement, you'll want to size down to the next closest size. Hope this helps!
You may need to adjust the position of certain accessories mounted on the bar slightly, however in most cases the fairing can work alongside the accessories.
Yes, these fairings will fit the factory crossbars on your Highlander. You'll just want to measure the bar space within the towers to determine the proper length needed.
The car in the video is a Toyota Corolla. Typically the wind fairing sits farther forward on the roof line allowing full use of the sunroof in most cases.
On my civic I installed my roof rack as per manual. If i use the wind fairing the part will sit on the glass. I will have to move my rack forward from what the manual says but thats no big deal
Road noise can come from a number of other factors besides the roof rack which vary vehicle to vehicle, so it can be tricky to accurately depict the road noise level. It will certainly be quieter with a fairing however.
It does reduce wind noise, however the amount it reduces ultimately depends on your vehicle as there are many more factors than just your crossbars when taking into account wind noise. From solely a crossbar standpoint, these are helpful in minimizing wind noise on a round or square style crossbar, but on aerodynamic style crossbars the difference is slim.

It seems like this would get in the way of accessories like j bars or a bike rack

Does the fairing fit on stock crossbars? I was looking to get one for my 03 Toyota highlander

@@rackwarehouse OK thank you
What is the car in the video? Can the wind fairing work with a sunroof?

Doesnt work with 2018 cx-5 sunroof sits directly on top
Where can I separately buy the clips
If you are looking for spare parts for the fairing, you can purchase them from Yakima directly.
@@rackwarehouse you can’t buy the adjustable zip-tie style clips from them but I found them on another site 👍
Why doesn't anyone review the actual road noise?

40" is on longest side of windshield? practically at the bottom?
Can you provide the killing for the bracket please? Can’t find them on the website. Thanks
So this probably doesn't reduce wind nosie since nobody makes that claim ot reviews wind noise. So not worth buying other than looks.
