Interested to hear how you're getting on with Sky after a few months Paul? I'm currently on Virgin, but looking at switching to Sky to bundle Stream and 500M fibre, but I've heard a lot of sketchy things about Sky's internet.
Hi Paul, it is amazing, I have it too and the speeds can be bonkers, I don't have a family like you but at least a dozen devices, main reason I got it was to make sure I got all the 4k and Dolby Vision stuff without any lag on all the TV apps and the Sky Q box, I hope you are all well pal 👍🏻
I'm doing good thanks mate. How are you keeping? Yeah the speeds are good for the higher quality stuff. But the Mrs had it installed at her place so it would be quicker for me to upload videos to TH-cam, as it was super slow before, and could take several hours to upload a short 4k video.
@@TheTechGiantTH-cam Yes it's definitely good for that, I use my channel as a way to upload videos too big to send any other way so I can share with family etc, I am not too bad pal, Glad you are all good.
I upgraded from sky basic broadband to ultra fast plus when chatting to sky they tried to offer the speed I already have but for more money eventually I got what I was asking for the sky Facebook messenger can’t read 🙈
Superfast fibre in the UK is still not fully rolled out, they have until the end of 2025 when the copper system is switched off. My first day of fibre was a disaster, it didn't work, all due to a 12 core cable with only one working core that fed next door, that took a week to be replaced then it worked for 3 days they had upgraded the exchange server and it failed to work, 3 days later it was back on then Plusnet had an outage and have had two more since. If you are going to go for fibre, don't use Plusnet their speed is lower than BT is, so since my contract was due in May i switched to BT, it was cheaper and at last i had the speed that i was paying for. Good luck with Sky, since BT own the network it shouldn't make any differece who you use but it does.
Plusnet use BT/openreach lines that they rent from them to provide their customers broadband. They do not own their own infrastructure. I'm with plusnet and have had no problems.
@@Tass... My last sentance states that BT own the network, BT also own Plusnet . When i switched to BT they told me that Plusnet are reknown for withholding bandwidth for anyone they class as a light user. I have not had any speed issues with BT, unlike Plusnet with slow speeds and far too many outages. Plusnet outages affected the whole country, so you must have been affected by them.
@thepenetrator2006 That's what I'm on at my place (this is at my fiancées house), and I also get 1.3gb on the download. What you getting on the upload mate?
Glad you're getting the advertised speeds, we got 900mb from EE installed 3 weeks ago and have had nothing but problems. Speed tests haven't gone above 11mbps and seeing 8-10% packet loss constantly which makes gaming impossible, had 2 openreach engineers out on repair jobs, 2 ONT boxes, 2 replacement Smart Hub+ routers from EE and no change at all. Have had to cancel as EE refuse to escalate it to bt wholesale and don't offer any technical support other than "have you rebooted your router" or "make sure you plug an ethernet cable in". Moving to Sky, hopefully that sorts the issue but have a feeling as they use the same openreach lines this is going to be a problem which isn't going away. Also when they install FTTP they cut the copper line and refuse to let you go back to it... not very helpful when there's issues on the line!
@@ukgaragemusic how come you’re having problems with the Eden? Who would you prefer to go with? Who do you think so much faster? I’ve got 250 MB with Virgin Media .

I get 1gig up and down with Litfibre and pay £35 a month with 6 months free
