IDK why people assume that Christianity doesn't have deep tree symbolism of its own. The Tree of Life and the Cross itself are heavily linked symbolically. If the biggest symbol in Christianity is the Cross, which signifies the crucifixion, it makes perfect sense that Jesus's birth would be signified by the Tree of Life.
And using an evergreen tree to represent the Tree of Life is just a no-brainer.

    • @orangeedo

The Christmas tree represents the yew tree. It can live forever and has male and female trees. It's the symbol of reincarnation, it's Pagan. There yew trees in every ancient site all over euro'

Hmm. The cross is not commanded to us as a symbol by Christ or the Apostles. It is a religious tradition of man that has become an icon and an idol. Paul says to avoid idols. Many genuine believers were burnt because they refused to kiss the crucifix of the Catholics. The only observance we are commanded to do is the Lord's Table. Anything else is adding to the Word of God.

@@chrisponsano4378 just because its not commanded doesnt mean its wrong. The cross nor crucifix is an idol. No Christian believes that God is in their cross or in any object. Yes avoid idols, not avoid all images. Images are ok as long as they are not worshipped. Now idk about catholic history too much. Its very possible what you said is true but that doesnt mean its because those catholics believed that God was in the crucifix. Its against catholic teaching to believe that God is in an image such as a crucifix.

    • @chrisponsano4378

@@beansenpai18 It would sound as if you are looking for acceptable loopholes. Paul says to bring every thought to subjection to Christ. If we are betrothed to Christ, would we not be absolutely true to Him as a faithful bride instead of looking for ways to hang out with our old boyfriends? Satan always seeks ways to distract us from our one true love.
In the Kingdom Age, there will be only one thing to eat, one thing to drink, one thing to breathe, one thing to do, and one thing to enjoy -- that is Christ who in all in all.

St. Nick is based on a real catholic saint from the country we now call Turkey. Instead of presents to children he gave dowery gifts to a family with that daughters that were too poor to marry which in that time was a very bad thing financially for both the daughter’s and the parents. Later European celebrations come from venerations of him as a saint mixed with legends rumours and myth turning the Saint Nicholas into Santa ‘klaus. Not pagan. Removed from the original story and not oozing Christ sure but that doesn’t make it pagan, especially not in the sense that neo pagans have reclaimed the term today.

Celebrating Jesus birth is NOT pagan.
Celebrating it in Dezember, with a Christmas tree and with santa Clause, who is a mixture of saint Nicholas (who is NOT in the bible) and the Coca- Cola's Company colors to bring more revenue to Atlanta.
    Is 100% pure paganism.
Santa Clause even if he supposed to represent Saint Nicholas ist still 100% pagan.
*You shall NOT worship others gods besides me.*
God even got angry when the people of moses created the golden calf to worship *HIM* .
So giving children the impression Santa Clause is someone you should like, because he gives you presents, by pretenting you do that because of Jesus is definitely breaking that commandment again.
Memorizing Jesus crucifixion and his resurrection is NOT pagan.
Celebrating it with a egg laying easter bunny at the wrong date for the wrong amount of time
    Is 100% pure paganism again.
Jesus was born during Sukkot also called Booths --> סוכות
    and he was crucified during passover/pessach --> חַג הַפֶּסַח‎
That are the correct dates where it happened.
And those are the correct names for those celebrations.
And god let that happen during his feasts for a reason.
The god of the Israelites and the jews is also our god.
    God doesn't change.
The holy day for the lord is Sabbath NOT sunday.
Sabbath is the 7th day of the week. NOT the day of the romans where they worshiped sol invictus (their god of the sun)
It Doesn't matter if they changed the day to worshipping god. God said when the 7th day is:
And that day is Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. That is sabbath the 7th day.
It doesn't matter the the UN wated to change sunday into the 7th day of the week and transform monday into the first day of the week.
Sabbath will remain the correct 7th day of the week as it is written in the bible.
    God's word doesn't change.
    God doesn't change.
Humans changed the dates and names of those important celebrations because they will always try to build themselves their golden calf again.
So we are once again valuing humans laws higher than gods laws. We are creating again the golden calf to worship to. Thinking we are worshipping god, which we are not doing. We are worshipping the calf again.
This time with a tree, a egg laying bunny and an obese old man with a white beard.
The feasts and festivals written in the bible are HIS feasts and that's why the most important things for us concerning Jesus happend exactly during that time.

Actually, in ancient Roman, December 25th was the time to celebrate Sol Invictus, the Unconquered Sun. The Sun God was venerated under different names all over the enormous territory of the Roman Empire and became the most important god during the 3rd century AD. The emperor Aurelianus built a big temple for the Sun God in Rome and inaugurated it right on December 25th, 274 AD. It is no wonder that the biggest celebration of the Sun God fell on this date at the beginning of winter time: on December 21st in fact, with the winter solstice, the sun “wins” his battle against the darkness, and the daylight hours slowly increase.
So the answer is yes, December 25th is pagan day.

Non-Christians seem to forget that the quintessential Christian celebration is not Christmas but Easter. To my understanding, the date of Christmas was actually based on that of the Crucifixion. Early Church fathers had calculated the date of the original Good Friday as March 25. They also supposed that Jesus’ life ended a perfect cycle, on the same day of the year as it began, that is, his conception (a.k.a. the Annunciation). As Jesus would then have been born 9 months later, the Nativity was put at December 25.

The Christmas custom of kissing under a sprig of mistletoe is a throwback to the Middle Ages. The Druids of ancient Britain believed that the mistletoe held magical powers; hence, it was used as protection against demons, spells, and other kinds of evil. It was used in strange worship relating to occult powers. (Church Christmas Tab)
According to PAGAN traditions it was a divine branch that had come from heaven and represented the Savior. It was claimed that the god Loki in envy killed the handsome god Balder with a dart made from the mistletoe; all other plants having vowed not to harm Balder-the mistletoe having been overlooked, was therefore used.
According to this PAGAN tradition, the mistletoe dart was plucked out of Balder’s fatal wound and given to the goddess of love, Freya, whence the custom that a lad may kiss a lass if he sees her under the mistletoe!

The New Encyclopedia Britannica says: “Tree worship, common among the PAGAN Europeans, survived after their conversion to Christianity in the Scandinavian customs of decorating the house and barn with evergreens at the New Year to scare away the Devil and of setting up a tree for the birds during Christmastime.”
Christmas tree decorations go back to PRE-CHRISTIAN Teutons who decorated their evergreens with coiled strings of fruit and grain in honor of the sacred dragon Nitthager. Glittering balls of gold were used to pay homage to Balder, god of the ever mystical sun.
The European Christmas custom of burning a huge log in the fireplace can be traced back to the Scandinavians who kindled enormous bonfires in honor of their god of thunder, Thor!
Dr. Alexander Hislop’s The Two Babylons states: “Now the Yule Log is dead stock of NIMROD, deified as the sun-god, but cut down by enemies; the Christmas tree is Nimrod ‘redivivus’-the slain god come to life again.”
