Thx WD. Going to do some background testing on what mode/multi combo possibly will have a better tell for the big iron. Ill make a video if i find a better solution to telling big iron. I can tell the Legend has a very low Bias. This is good for some but will be very annoying for others.

I have a simplex and wanting to upgrade to the legend I live in Florida so I hunt all types of sites. I do like the tones on the legend wasn’t sure at first. I can’t wait to see more testing you do such a good job. Keep ‘em coming. Thanks!!

For me. I wish NM had kept a lower profile with their sales pitches, and simply hit the shelves with the machine you now hold in your hand, and let the performance of the finished article do the talking. I hope NM learn from this. Notwithstanding, however, I believe this SMF will 'rattle the roost' massively, just like it's smaller sibling the ultra-impressive Simplex has, and does. Superb performance, exceptional durability, plus excellent after-sales back-up, is the only way forward in a highly competitive industry. The sheer 'value for the money' of Simplex and Legend, respectively, blows the competition to smithereens. The Legend seems to be a 'no-brainer' way to go. nb: I do not own any NM metal detectors, so no brand-bias bigotry. "Long live the Legend".

Great informative vid iffy. Keep them coming. Be nice setting actual recovery speed instead of having to go with what. Nokta set for the modes with the simplex (park 1 fast recovery, park 2 faster recovery) Being able to adjust depending on how lively the ground is is great. Maybe recovery 10 for those lightening fast swinging detectorists lol

I always treated the Simplex as if it has 3 recovery speeds - field, park 1 & park 2 (slow, medium & fast) Comparable to 3, 5 & 7 on the Legend.

Hey Joey, your getting a full multi machine/waterproof machine with many options.. you see all those audio options, recovery speed, vibrate, flashlight ect.. for $600. The Equinox handles iron better (for me) due to having an adjustable iron bias.. but that is for my style of woods/old home sites hunting. With depth they are very close and recovery speed both are very fast.

Ty for this... IM A MASSIVE ENDORSER OF THE SIMPLEX... IT'S MY DREAM DETECTOR... started with the Garrett 350 then 400 and now I own 2 SIMPLEX. Hey UFO, i would just leave it at 5 or 6. Lower it for very clean sites or the beach and raise it up for trashy sites. Everyones soil/conditions will be different.

Hello, i'd like you to do these tests for real so slow down the swing when hitting something interesting, do the side by side swing 90 degrees apart and finally use the pinpoint option (eventhough you know what's beneath each marker). Thanks djkam/Fryslan/the Netherlands.

I think recovery 1 and 2 are more for cache hunting big targets. Atleast the nox is like that

Yea Jon, for really clean sites where you want to punch deep. The tone gets longer as well.

You will find your sweet spot in recovery speed for your given hunting style and chosen machine. Mine is without a doubt 5 for relics on the Equinox 800. 6 in real heavy iron, but 5 all around. I run 5 even in pretty clean fields as 3 or 4 just sound weird to me after 3 years using 5 on the Nox.

Don't forget your swing speed has a lot to do with the recovery speed you set

Hey iffy, is the legend better at canceling EMI than the Deus 2? So far I have some really tough places surrounded by overhead power lines, I can’t use any SMF programs. Sadly, these are the sites I have that are easily accessible. Thanks

Hey Jerry, I really have not been in a really tough emi situation to be able to answer that. I have found the Legend to be very stable in my yard (maybe 25 feet from the house and powerlines) and able to max it out.
