  • Hello Everyone,
This video is meant for those applicants who are getting married while their Canada PR application is still in progress.
While this is very common situation , the answer is complicated. In this video, I have tried to explain it with different scenarios which would help you understand how this change impacts your application & CRS Score.

Hi thanks for the video. Hope you can help me in my little situation here. I got my Ready For Visa mail today . I am residing in Abudhabi and will leave to India the day after tomorrow for my marriage . Now I am confused whether to submit the docs today in Abu Dhabi and then later apply for change in Marital status. Or wait till my marriage 23 March to update my application ( raise webform) .
The major concern is the 30 days deadline. I will be back to Abu Dhabi after this 30 days deadline.

Please clarify my below doubt :
I am planning to marry my fiance who is a primary applicant after eAPR is done. So, I will be added as a secondary applicant.
I have enough money in my account to show as POF for both of us but my fiance doesn't . So, in that case, if I marry my fiance after eAPR is done, can he show money in my account (secondary applicant account) as Proof of Funds. Will IRCC accepts this?

Amazing Video. One question: I will be following scenario 2 from your video and I am planning to do a court marriage. Will this impact my process? Will they consider this as genuine? Hello,
In my case, I am in New Zealand. I got married in 2019 December and stayed with her for only a few days. I came back to NZ and applied for a visa for her. Unfortunately, Immigration NZ has stopped overseas applications and still now, it's not open. I am very frustrated and planning to go to Canada via Express Entry PR. So just to clarify... I have to inform OINP via email that my marital status is changed and I wish to add my spouse as accompanying. And also go for case specific enquiry in CIC for change in marital/ family status and submit additional documents (Marriage certificate, proof of fund, proof of relationship)

I am planning to get married in December, and during that same time, I will be applying for my PR.
This is my scenario. My fiancé lives and work in Canada 8 months out of each year for 10 years so he can easily get a work permit and apply for himself and get through with his PR in 6 months.
Could it be a case where I can apply for my PR, add him to application and not pay the processing fee etc for him?

    Hi,
Thank you for your video, I am in the same boat. I got married 3 months after the submission of my e-Apr. I have made submissions for my spouse but my lawyer told me that the CRS points are recalculated but my application won’t be going back to the pool. I am not sure of this anymore.
Anyway, we made the submissions for my husband by last week of July. I have following questions:
    1. My lawyer is insisting that I should be in Canada ASAP. He says it might delay the processing of my PR. I am not able to fly due to the current restrictions from Canada on Indian commercial flights. I have been in India since mar 2021. Although, I am working remote.
    2. If we get a PPR, is it okay if I submit when I am in Canada and my husband is in India?
    3. Is there a generic timeline for how long the processing takes. I submitted my e-APR as a single applicant in January 2021. My husband’s documents and documents related to proof of marriage, all was done on July 27.

Your lawyer doesn’t know the law then 😆
He/she must be a consultant, not immigration lawyer
Once you land you are PR, then if you want to invite your husband it’s only via the spousal sponsorship route which takes about an year
No fixed processing times specially during situation around COVID, they are short staffed
