  • Known as a transportation appliance within the automotive world. Toyota claims their 7th generation 2012 Camry is their best one yet. We think they are right in that regard, however is it the best in the class? Not in our eyes, if you want nothing but safe, reliable transportation that blends into the crowd, this will satisfy you. If you want something more fun, we'd suggest checking out the freshly redesigned competition.

I've actually owned and daily driven a 2012 Camry for well over 5 years and I should say, I've put the car through all driving conditions, the good and the bad. I've travelled with the car alot, drove it in the city, very hot weather, even drove it uphills sometimes. I should say impressive! The car literally proved itself. I'd choose it over any other brand anyday! Ofcourse you don't expect it to be the most luxurious, the best looking, the fastest and and and.... But driving this car and having the satisfaction that it will get me reliably and safely from point A to point B and give me a very good mpg, plus extra comfort and roomy interior with the best AC system is all I am looking for. Plus in my personal opinion, it is better looking than accords, fusions, altimas, sonatas etc... There is absolutely no reason to hate on this car. Interior made of plastic? So what? Is that what matters the most in cars? If you are looking for high quality interiors, then go and spend millions to buy Bentleys, Rolls Royces, Maybachs etc. This is a poor review honestly. Instead of fetching for all negative features, maybe focus more about the positives?

Exactly, I don’t get why many people chase silly numbers such as high horsepower or whatever. All I care about is a car that can get me from point A to B and a car that can last me for a long time. It’s not like they have the room to push a fast luxurious car to it’s limits to begin with or have the skills to do so. Best thing they can do in public is floor it and brake if there’s a red light, swerve in and out of traffic, and repeat. You’re literally racing no one and what’s even more cringe is there is no podium and reward in the end. - Coming from a car guy

I recently rented a 2014 Camry SE for about a week and I was thoroughly impressed. The interior was large and roomy, the cabin was quiet, the four cylinder performed at least like a six cylinder, it felt luxurious and sporty, and best of all, I got 27 mpg in the city. I am considering purchasing one myself. If you're in the market, you should definitely give the Camry SE a very close look.

I think it’s criticized so harshly because it’s been on the market so long and has such an advantage because of its name and yet there are Hyundai sonatas that offer more features for the money and arguably better styling. Same reason the 2012 Honda Civic was criticized so harshly; even though it still had better materials than an Elantra, Honda should’ve known better and people expect more from it

He has a very strong negative bias towards any Toyota cars and loves the Honda/Mazda products. I have both driven 2012 Camry and Accord, in terms of quietness and ride quality, 2012 Accord is much worse than the 2012 Camry.

I love this gen Camry and the new 2018 one.
On my 2012 4cyl SE with only Nav gets 32.1mpg. And the stock 6 speakers sound amazing especially with HD radio on, and the speakers get boomy at the highest bass setting which I like. Plus it surprisingly handles well. I can attack freeway on-ramp loops at 35-40mph and the car stays stable, and I only have the standard 17 inch SE rims.

The biggest reason these cars are amazing is that your average DIY'er can do everything with these tanks, the 2AR-FE engine will easily get to 300k+ miles with regular maintenance and also the U760E transmission will get the job done for the same amount of miles without any trouble with regular maintenance. An overall gem in the current vehicle market because of its durability and overall looks. My current 2011 Camry with the same specs is at 250k miles with absolutely no issues whatsoever. I do my own routine maintenance and she drives like new!

I currently drive a 2007 Nissan Altima that I've had for 3 years now, fun & sporty car, but its had a few big problems such as the CVT being replaced with only 54k miles! I had a 2012 Camry LE 4 cylinder as a loaner for a couple of days. Loved it and did not want to give it back! I found it responsive in steering and acceleration. And it felt like I was driving a smaller car and NOT the boat-like feeling of some midsize cars. The only drawbacks were the zero steering feedback and more road noise than one would expect. Toyota does tend to equip their new cars with less than stellar tires, so I don't know if a set of quieter tires would alleviate the road noise issue.

My father has exactly the same car. Same colour, same trim level. The only difference is that his has the entune navigation. It's a company car, so it's not really what he wanted, but it's decent. I have to say that it feels a little cheaper than the 2003 model I drove for a while

I remember my 06 Rav 4 sport jbl audio upgrade power sunroof it was red I had the chrome side steps not really useable lol but it gave it the look I was aiming for had 20 inch racing rims everyone loved it and thought it was brand new 🤷🏽‍♂️ brought it with 77k I let it go with about 108k still ran brand new and looked and smell brand new inside !

wow, that's a ton of mileage for a 2012. I work for a rental agency and the highest mileage i've seen on our 2012 Camry's is like 27 or 28K. They still drive like new at that point, but the road noise after 15K is disappointingly un-Camry-like. Drove a 2011 last year, and on the highway it was a vault!

why i bought a 2012 camry se v6: amazing engine, acceleration feels effortless. i got a car that goes 0-60 in 5.8 seconds for 26k brand new. simple easy to use entune system that works great. great looking 18 inch wheels, toyota reliability (im sorry but this car will outlast any korean or ford car) car holds the road great. although the new accord probably beats this car and if i could i would get the 2013 accord v6 with 6mt, it wasn't out yet when i got the camry.

A Motroweek/Cars test of Family Sedans put the Toyota Camry in 4th Place and the winner as the 2013 Honda Accord. The Toyota Camry is not quite as boring as it used to be; they’ve made it a bit more entertaining to drive and the interior is refreshingly simple, but it’s not quite as comfortable as it used to be. Also, the 2013 Honda Accord did better IIHS's crash test than the 2012 Toyota Camry.

I checked out a 2012 Camry at an auto show quite awhile ago and wasn't impressed. Some guy hopped in the passenger seat and said that he thought the Malibu even was nicer. I quite agree that the 2012 Malibu has a far nicer looking interior. Further more, the Camry has that horrible chime and to me it now looks bloated and overweight. Unless a cushy ride is desired I can think of far better choices.
