Thanks for simple and best tip to a pretty basic setting what was turned out to be secret mystery by Apple. I mean they could have simply included this part to use tripod for 30s exposure on their tips. I was till now thinking that 30s exposure is ONLY possible on pro models with ProRAW format. Just tried and it works fine on regular models as well 👍👍
can you please make another video where you put the phone on a tripod set it to 30 sec exposure and then before clicking the shutter you press to focus and drag the exposure slider up to the maximum and then clikc the shutter and check what is the difference? Thanks
@@valentinkirqnski It will focus on the area you click and base exposure will be calculated based on the spot you clicked and then boost it. So you can have different results based on the spot you click on the photo before taking it. Personally i would leave the phone on auto so it makes an overall exposure and i would edit it after if i want something different
@@DIYBuildandRepair please try increasing the exposure and point the phone in to the sky for astrophotography. After you do that do the same 30sec at the sky but this time dicrease exposure by a little bit.
Try not to hold it, either set in on the table cameras facing down, or put it on a tripod at night. It will not go automatically to 30, you have to max it manually. When its on 10 sec exposure if you click on the arrow on the top of screen and you will have other options in the bottom part of the screen, one of them is the exposure time, there you can max it out
Ok I’m going to research it but I don’t understand what you use it for. What does a 30 second exposure do for you? Thanks if anyone answers me. Much appreciated.
Mostly night photography, you will get much better results at night like this if what you try to take pictures of does not move (still objects). If you have cars that move thw final result will be just the light trails. It is used in astrophotagraphy if you want to photograph the sky at night. If you take pictures of moving water this will give it a nice effect and lots more things, you can get creative with it once you play with it and start to understand what it does.
Hello, I am trying to chane an exposure to 30 seconds on Iphone 14 pro, but Maximum that its shows me, its 10 seconds, any tips or with ios 16 and Iphone 14 its impossible?
You should have it. If you open the camera app, set the phone on the table to cover the camera, on top left next to the flash the white symbol should turn yellow and a number of seconds should appear ( for example 5s ), in the middle under the notch should be an up arrow, if you push that you get a number of settings on top of the shutter button, second symbol should match the one next to the flash from top left, press that and you can select a longer exposure time. If you do not have that it might be that the non PRO models don't get long exposure, but i do not think it should be the case.
It's the default camera app, this is not manual mode, if you don't have the phone on a tripod or as steady as it would be on a tripod it will not let you use 30 second.
@@Bloxy_CAT I don't own an iPhone 6 so i don't know if this is available on it, but for more than 30 seconds you will need a third party app even on 12 Pro Max. The phones camera app will only give you max 30 seconds only on a tripod or something to keep the phone perfectly still.
You need to have the phone on a tripod, if it detects movement it won't do 30 seconds, only 10. Even the slightest move will take it back to 10 seconds
It should be, as far as i know it still gets updates so you should be able to do it on 11 Pro aswell. I don't have any type of 11 so i cannot say for sure but in theory it should be possible. The result will not be as good because it has a different sensor but it should be able to do long exposure.
@@Ptrxt In theory as long as the device still gets updates anything new should work on the device as long as it is software related, if it needs a specific part ( LIDAR for example) and the device does not have it, it will not work

Thank you for the tutorial, i looked for this and i learned something new. Thank you :)
I don’t understand what you have pressed at 1:09. And my camera doesn’t have that grid. How to do it?
At 1:09 i did not press anything, the grid you can activate from Settings-Camera-composition-grid( there is an On/off toggle)

Does iphone 13 have this too?
The Pro versions sure have it, the non pro ones i don’t know for sure, they might not have this option.
