You forgot one more rule. ALWAYS KILL SECURE. Never allow one ship to even survive at 100 health assuming that other players will kill him. Always make sure that he dies regardless of how many people are shooting him. Cause any surviving ship even at 1 health can still shoot back, cap, spot and fire torps your allies.
I like the way you explain especially about the plane loss part. After watching your clips, I started playing carriers and now my karma is 0 (from 50+). xD
I have three tier 10cv’s and I still found this informative, for example I didn’t know about the thirty percent damage reduction. Keep up the splendid work old chap!

Then before I start attack I hang around enough to tag fighters then rush over to friendly ship and their AA demolishes them as they're HP is very low. Then I proceed to attack a now angry BB. Best is when I get enemy cv/bb fighters tagged and destroyed by friendly AA.
Had a few times my kaga got deplaned when bottom.tier against 2 x Halland, des moines, sov soyuz, a nevsky, 2x petropavlosk, Jean Bart and a Minotaur just to top it all off. Been having these kind of AA hell games a lot past couple of months.

I’ve played wows for ages but never tried cvs so these really help a lot. I’m struggling to find much info on aiming/targeting ie when to start attack, where to position reticle, when to release payload etc for different plane types/nations. Really little good guides on this
Love your cv academy series! Learning a lot of things already while grinding my way through bot games till I finally unlock T6 cv and start playing against real people. Bot games are such a mess and I usually just use them to learn how to aim but you don‘t learn anything about the game really.
On the 30% dmg reduction during drop: around half a year ago, I read (either on forum or reddit) that it is actually bugged and the 30% reduction only applies to the last flight of a squad. Could you confirm if this is still the case? I wish I could provide you with the link to that but seems like there are too many CV threads to single it out from Google result list:/
Settings, Controls, Alternate Interface Mode: ON. I also recommend heading in game and adjusting minimap settings. In Game, Press Minimap Cogwheel bottom right, Check Last known position markers, Check Ship names

Midway class with their blue camo color scheme (default) and Implacable with her collection special camo (red one)

It's applied to all attack squadrons in the flight

How do forget predropping squadrons??
Do you think predropping is an effective technique for saving planes or would you avoid it?
I feel like it's a must for me when playing at tier 8. If I'm not reckless I tend to have some reserves for late game.
