Always great to hear from fans. This show was so ahead of its time for Nick. We (along with You Can't Do That..) established the "edge" for Nickelodeon. It set us apart from those do good Disney people! Marty (Hern)
Marty Schiff OMG! I LOVED this show. My favorite. I always loved Hern’s/your segments. *Your desire for a wife who could pound nails with her bare fist *Burger creation... throwing it against the wall for “The Italian method.”🇮🇹 *The best one? Hern was doing a story on “How to share your toys” and he is so angry to do it and laments on the way,”This is the dumbest..” and how he thought he would be the first reporter on the moon. When he saw the monster (the sister’s brother who was a monster) he was like,”Whooa!!!” I also loved when he was under water looking for mermaids and just breathed the air coming out of his nose. I used to crack up watching this show and you were a huge part. And yes, I agree with your quote: You were part of the show which launched/built Nickelodeon.
I knew it was only a matter of time before we made it to TH-cam. The role of Hern and Out of Control was the most fun I ever had going to work. We ran so many times that my kids MUST refer to Nick as the "Network that daddy built" or they get punished. Glad to see there are still fans out there. Marty
you know how you feel like there are only a few of us left who remember shows like this... well you are one of them. thanks... brought back my childhood.
I am 29 now, but holy smokes. This brings me WAYYY back. I was like in 1st grade when this might have been on!!! And that cartoon guy in the gray suit-- I completely forgot about him!! It's been so many years since I saw this stuff. TH-cam is a time machine I tell ya!
I remember watching this on Nickelodeon as well as Today's Special and You Can't Do that on Televsion! There were OOC episodes where Dave ends up floating in space and Hern makes a banana/bologna milkshake with a chimp.
I loved this show so much as a teen. :) I loved the different ways they put together the title of the show. And I loved Diz the best. Her funky clothes, her crazy attitude, her long fingernails, and that sound she makes. Thank you for bringing back this episode. :)
OMG, I used to think about "hurry ups" all the time growing up when I was in class. There are still times to this day where I think, "man, I could use a hurry up"--I swear this exact thought still runs thru my head-and I'm 27!
My gosh, I haven't seen this since it aired when I was eight years old. It's scary how I anticipated several of the lines. I also remember wanting a hat just like Hern's, with the "press" tag and all. Wow, wow, wow. Thanks for posting. :)
Of what I remember, there was Diz, Hern, Dave, Waldo, Angela, Ha-Ha, The Animated Guy with the Grey Suit. There could have been more, but I don't remember.
Oh my god.... I watched this on Nick when the channel was in its infancy, I think I mighta been like, 5 or 6 years old at the time, and still playing Pitfall and Centepede on Atari.
This show ran on Nickelodeon from 1984 to 1985 with reruns until September 28, 1991, and again from January 2 to March 14, 1993. This show needs to be aired on Teennick's "The Splat", an improved version of their "The 90's Are All That" block for classic Nickelodeon shows, mainly from the 90's with a few 80's and early 2000's shows thrown in the mix.
I used to love this show, so did all of my friends (we were about 5-8 years old). I keep hoping someone will post The Uncle Hogram Program skits from Turkey TV!
One of my favorite shows! Even after all these years it is still HILARIOUS! Back then Nickelodeon really had some good shows. (Mr. Wizard, You Can't Do That On Television, Ren & Stimpy) Today the network is a joke; nothing but garbage. Hey Marty, thought you were GREAT as Hern!!
Why won't Nick release all of the classic Nick shows from the 80's and 90's, I think it will make them a fortune. I know I will buy and I will watch nothing else but. There's nothing on tv now and days to watch. We had the best childhood shows in the 80's and 90's. They taught us something and entertained us without dumbing us down and making us materialistic and vain like today's kids shows. No wonder our kids are so slow, materialistic, and, kind of dull.
This episode happens to be among the only ones I remember, due to the parts where they 'hurry up' school and where Dave eats the flaming taco. Man, if ever a show could he labeled as 'perfect'...this was so well-crafted and had so much to offer that when I compare it to the fare of today, I want to burst into tears. It's the kind of show I'd do if I was in the biz, hehhehheh.
There was actually a great set of outakes from that segment...for some reason I couldn't deliver the line "get a shot of those toys boys" to the director's (Larry Sulkis) satisfaction!! I'm really glad to see so many OOC fans out there...it was one of the best experiences of my career.
I came here almost at random (looking for a clip of a mysterious actor called "the Stick"), and I immediately recognized that zany title screen. I doubt I've had even a single thought about this show since 1989 or so, when I was 5 years old! Amazing.
Ah, love it!!! They should change Nick at Night to show this along with "You Can't Do This on Television" and "Double Dare" ...stuff for us big kids who are growing up and growing nostalgic...
I LOVED this show!!! I thought Dave Coulier was so hot, and Diz was my favorite character. I used to make that squeaky noise of hers all the time. Funny funny show. Thanks for the memories. Now I can show my kids. :)
WOW. Now this takes me back. Since they re-ran these so often, the whole thing is embedded in my brain even though I havent seen it in 20 years. Amazing. That said, I'm amazed at how unfunny most of it is. HOWEVER...the singing taco verged on greatness. Especially, the tender ballad "What's In A Taco". Thanks for posting it!
One more thing... I watched this, You Can't Do That on Television, and Pee Wee's Playhouse religiously back then. This explains why I'm a CRAZY Singing Chick!
Yo this was classic, used to love this as a youngbull. Nick was the shit back in the day. The absence of shows like this & good cartoons are part of the reason why kids aren't kids these days.
Anyone remember another character on this show, A disgusting lout named Herb Verbert? And speaking of other original shows on Nick from the late 80's, Bonus points for anyone who remember their weekday afternoon tween talk/variety show called "Don't Just Sit There!", which debuted in '88 and ran for maybe a couple of seasons at Best. There was a live house band made up of kids our age or a little older. And the hosts were Wendy, Allie(*Siiigghh), and B.J. my sisters and I watched religiously.
Ah yes the good ol Hurry Up....I wonder why they didn't use it more often. There are some things I wish would Hurry Up! A lost diamond in the treasure box known as...."The GOOD Nickelodeon shows!"
Thanks, I haven't seen Out of Control since I was a kid. This brings back memories. I really enjoyed seeing Dave, Hern, and Waldo & especially Angela and Diz. I gotta say, Diz sometimes drove me nuts because of that screech of hers, but she's nuts, but I like her anyway. When I saw Angela's reaction when she that dinosaur, I laughed my head off! Angela's cute, but she's dumb! Seriously.
It's amazing how when I was a kid, I didn't even realize this was a show geared toward kids, since of course, I was one. Now that I'm older...wow, what a difference! The exaggerated acting is laughable.
OMG - I remember this show ! And I had no idea that was Dave Coulier pre-FULL HOUSE - lol And that crazy chick who would make that weird scream. Sounded like a whistle - hehe
Actually "What Will They Think Of Next" was hosted by actor Joseph Campanella. They used cartoon drawings to explain clever and/or unusual inventions. I would be amazed if anyone can post an episode of THAT obscure show!
i was just telling someone at work(who is under 30!) about this show, Couldn't remember the name though. Can you post more of these shows please if you have them? This show was awesome! kinda like monty Python for kids.
Always great to hear from fans. This show was so ahead of its time for Nick. We (along with You Can't Do That..) established the "edge" for Nickelodeon. It set us apart from those do good Disney people!

Marty
Thanks for being you! The show was and is priceless!
you know how you feel like there are only a few of us left who remember shows like this... well you are one of them. thanks... brought back my childhood.
I always remembered this show and Dave doing his little "Cut it ouuuut" thing.
i used to do the cut it out thing to my daughter when she was small
I am 29 now, but holy smokes. This brings me WAYYY back. I was like in 1st grade when this might have been on!!! And that cartoon guy in the gray suit-- I completely forgot about him!! It's been so many years since I saw this stuff. TH-cam is a time machine I tell ya!
Thank you. Just thank you for finding and posting this. I always wanted to see an episode again for old times sake.
I remember watching this on Nickelodeon as well as Today's Special and You Can't Do that on Televsion! There were OOC episodes where Dave ends up floating in space and Hern makes a banana/bologna milkshake with a chimp.
Aw man I remember this show. I had to be like 4 or 5 when I watched it. Great upload.
Oh my god!
I need this on DVD. This was a hilarious show.
i used to love this show, would watch it every wednesday at 8 (i think). Brings back memories, thanks!
I loved this show so much as a teen. :) I loved the different ways they put together the title of the show. And I loved Diz the best. Her funky clothes, her crazy attitude, her long fingernails, and that sound she makes. Thank you for bringing back this episode. :)

Yep. Same here.
I almost forgot about this show. Thanks for the post I love it!!
brings back memories. I miss classic Nick
i meant to say "it brings back memories" :)
Anthony Jenkins how old are you now?
My gosh, I haven't seen this since it aired when I was eight years old. It's scary how I anticipated several of the lines. I also remember wanting a hat just like Hern's, with the "press" tag and all. Wow, wow, wow. Thanks for posting. :)

happy7117 The animated guy in the grey suit was “The Critic.”
Fun-fact: Dave Voiced him.
Seriously, this was Nickelodeon at it's best! There should be an entire channel filled with shows like these. Call it "Nick Rewind"!
WOW! Thanks for posting this. It brought back long lost memories from my childhood.
Oh my god.... I watched this on Nick when the channel was in its infancy, I think I mighta been like, 5 or 6 years old at the time, and still playing Pitfall and Centepede on Atari.
I remember watching this show as a kid and when Full House first aired I was like "Hey, that guy who plays Joey was on Out of Control on Nickelodeon".
Yep. He was the host of Out of Control. Dave Coulier played straight guy to his more bizarre castmates.
Thanks for posting this. Brings back a lot of memories. I remember this specific episode!
I'm a 90s kid, so I don't exactly remember this show, but I really like it. This is what kids need today. TV with some actual substance.
Blast from the Past! This is a great show, and still makes me laugh.
THIS IS INCREDIBLE! takes me back...
This show ran on Nickelodeon from 1984 to 1985 with reruns until September 28, 1991, and again from January 2 to March 14, 1993. Josh...I would say "A" crowning achievement...and certainly one of the more memorable...in a lifetime of crowning achievements.
I'm having flashbacks of my childhood!! Thanks for posting this. Love it!
I used to love this show, so did all of my friends (we were about 5-8 years old). I keep hoping someone will post The Uncle Hogram Program skits from Turkey TV!
thank you putting it up. I liked this show.

Yes. I was Hern...and proud of it.
Marty
Is there any way I can purchase episodes of "Out of Control"?
you inspired me to take up the mantel of the press and create my own weekly newspaper. i had 3 subscribers. it lasted for 7 issues.
Wow, I remember this...takes me back.
Remember Garbage Pail Kids?
Dan, I still have the hats...there were only three...and my son has claimed them!
Marty
Holy crap, I remember this show!
Even though Jill and I were very close...we never did much more than share lunch on the set!
Marty
This is awesome! A full ep! Thank you!
There was actually a great set of outakes from that segment...for some reason I couldn't deliver the line "get a shot of those toys boys" to the director's (Larry Sulkis) satisfaction!! I'm really glad to see so many OOC fans out there...it was one of the best experiences of my career.
That would be priceless! I would love to see some of those outtakes!
I loved Nickelodean back then. Those were the good old days.
I came here almost at random (looking for a clip of a mysterious actor called "the Stick"), and I immediately recognized that zany title screen. I doubt I've had even a single thought about this show since 1989 or so, when I was 5 years old! Amazing.
he was on the first episode of ooc
OMG! i totally use to love this show. man it just shows you how much more sarcastic 80's humor was, plus i thought Angela Scoop was kinda hot
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!!!!!!! Made my day!!!!! So awesome to find this show here. Woot!
WOW.
Now this takes me back. Since they re-ran these so often, the whole thing is embedded in my brain even though I havent seen it in 20 years. Amazing.

Thank you for sharing! This was definitely a blast from the past!
man i used to love this show. i didnt know it was only 9 episodes.
I used to have such a crush on Diz. Hey, I was a kid in the '80s. I regret nothing!
He was. On the magic episode. My fav episode was Fashion.
OMG I remember this episode. Scary!!
This deserves to return in reruns at least, also You Can't Do That On TV
now-a-days they say that what they thought was a Brontosaurus never really exsisted. and it was my fave dinosaur too :(
One more thing... I watched this, You Can't Do That on Television, and Pee Wee's Playhouse religiously back then. This explains why I'm a CRAZY Singing Chick!
Yo this was classic, used to love this as a youngbull. Nick was the shit back in the day. The absence of shows like this & good cartoons are part of the reason why kids aren't kids these days.
hell yeah!! i was hoping this would be on here, one of my fav. shows as a kid..
Anyone remember another character on this show, A disgusting lout named Herb Verbert? Wait a minute, we can't hurry up recess!
who says that grown folks cant still watch cartoons??lol
It's amazing how when I was a kid, I didn't even realize this was a show geared toward kids, since of course, I was one. Now that I'm older...wow, what a difference! The exaggerated acting is laughable.
yes he was, he played hern
i use to love this show!!!!!
OMG - I remember this show ! And I had no idea that was Dave Coulier pre-FULL HOUSE - lol
And that crazy chick who would make that weird scream. Sounded like a whistle - hehe
Actually...it was Hern that was being chased around by a guy in a werewolf mask.
i couldn't agree more!
LOL! Turkey Television! Remember the skits they had with Hap Hazard and his ememy King Wino Von Fishlips!
I'd watch Nick rewind.
Nickelodeon really needs to do a Nickelodeon Classic based on the roughly 1988-1992 lineup...
I actually wished for a hurry up today. I'm 28. I 100% understand where you are coming from.
Dizzy Diz RULES!
Favorite show.
Actually "What Will They Think Of Next" was hosted by actor Joseph Campanella.
They used cartoon drawings to explain clever and/or unusual inventions. I would be amazed if anyone can post an episode of THAT obscure show!
or even a DVD set of this masterpiece .
OMG That is too awesome !!
Diz is doing a Lucille Ball impression, the animation is all lifted from monty python,
i use to watch this all the damn time
I remember my brother having those alphabet magnets and he had a lot of them. Whenever this show came on, we used to copy the intro.
LMAO! This brings back so many memories!
I would love to see an ep of Turkey TV. Also, Against the Odds would be nice.
Thats the only episode I remember.. LOL Funny how its the first one i found on YT
i think that was Diz McNally
El Cholo featured about 10 minutes in; still in business
So THIS is where Crichton got the idea for “Jurassic Park”
Damn i loved this show
Mailman,”Hi Brutus...”
🦕 Brutus,”Hi....”
True dat, if you don't remember this show or "You Can't Do that on Television," you really missed out!
Nice tie, Dave.
i was just telling someone at work(who is under 30!) about this show, Couldn't remember the name though. Can you post more of these shows please if you have them? This show was awesome! kinda like monty Python for kids.
There's a whole channel of episodes. Took a while though, but it's here!
Me Too!!!
I don't really remember this show, but oh well, I wasn't born until 1986.
I see someone managed to upload a whole episode of Turkey Television now, and did spot Uncle Hogram there!
Why, oh why, don't any of the streaming services have this!!??
DVD PLEASE!!!
11 people couldn't find the world's tastiest tacos.
I can imagine video quality of the surviving recordings is a major factor in a streaming services decision to host it.
It would seem like the right time and idea to do so.
And that's called winning a bet!
