    I did a detailed research on Hybrid cars and specifically Toyota Hybrids and this is what I found out.
    Hybrids use the electric motor to drive the vehicle, whilst the petrol engine supplies power to the electric motor when needed and supports a generator to charge the hybrid battery too.
    Some hybrid cars only use their electric motors to support the engine during acceleration and cruising where the electric motor cannot power the car on its own. In the self-charging Toyota Hybrids, you can enjoy pure electric power for up to 50% of your city journeys according to Toyota Hybrid Experience figures. At higher speeds or when overtaking on the motorway, the petrol engine and electric motors work together to give you a strong boost of power.
    Toyota pioneered hybrid technology with the Prius in 1997. Today, as the hybrid leader with over 15 million hybrid cars around the world. Priuses have been known to run without any battery issues for up to as many as 400,000 - 600,000 kilometers which is impressive for any car!
    It's a fact that the Toyota Fielder Hybrid is built on the same battery as the Toyota Prius Hybrid which has been a very reliable hybrid car with longevity in its battery performance (over 15 years now). Corolla Fielders have been known to be very reliable cars and Toyota has put effort in making sure they retain this valuable history.
    There have been very few cases of failure of Toyota Hybrid batteries mostly arising from collision that damages the hybrid battery. So people buy hybrids in peace. That's where the future is.

    My two sence is it will depend on one needs prefer hybrid for long journeys and non hybrid for short trips and use and if the pocket allows you then have both depending on your usage ✌️🤑

    Ercik, I also noted that Honda Insight and Civic hybrids can move even without the hybrid battery. But there are some car models which cannot operate without the hybrid battery.

    I really think you have misled people on this one because Toyota hybrids are the cheapest to maintain, you may need to do a little research on Toyota Prius. That vehicle is like a bicycle, only the routine maintenance required plus the brake pads never die, you can go ages without switching them. Changing the hybrid battery might be costly (Ksh 50,000) but that would probably be after approx 3000,000 km on the dash, Bottom line... Toyota makes the best hybrid vehicles and they are super reliable, usidanganywe

    • @magdalinewachira
      @magdalinewachira 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Toyota Hybrids are very reliable just as non-Hybrids have. I think the used research was based on a few days ago cases of failure but fact is Toyota Hybrids last long.

      Hio ni stori ya kitambo boss,when hybrids were new in the market we had mechanics who weren't conversant with hybrid technology so when a hybrid battery drew a fault u had no option other than replacing the entire battery pack,but nowadays more and more mechanics are slowly versing themselves with hybrid systems so instead of replacing the entire battery pack u just replace individual faulty cells thus reducing the cost quite significantly.
