In this let's play series we will build a highly detailed realistic zoo set on a mountain side in beautiful forested surroundings. Okay I actually love the name, Anima is appropriate for sure, and I think it's just a fun benefit that it's like Animal Zoo, I think it would encourage visitors to discuss as they learned a new word, and for sure the zoo maps from the info booth would include a blurb about the name!

Loving the format of this video and can't wait for the next episode! Having you talk us through the inspiration and layout at the beginning was very helpful, and you did a great job bringing those elements into your build. The added elements of greenery provide some nice pops of colour and I love the natural lighting inside of the building. Good division inside between the entrance and exit as well, even though it won't be functional in Planet Zoo. You've also given me lots of inspiration with your parking lot for the entrance of my own project, so thank you!

i personally really like the name Anima Zoo, it does seem a little silly knowing animal without the L, but honestly i didn't think of it till you said and even now i still think its really nice! rolls off the tongue well and looks good!!

(And sorry for the big text, but here we go)
As you asked for some ideas, I was thinking here and got some that maybe you would like! (All of them for some South American, mostly Brazilian love hahaha)
1) a recommendation for inspiration: the Inhotim Institute in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is the biggest open air museum in the world and it's also a botanical garden. As it is in the brazilian highlands maybe you can get some inspiration there for like things in hilly terrain hahahaha. Theres local fauna there but the idea is more for other kinds of entertainment in the zoo. I think it would be neat if there were some sculptures sprinkled in the zoo
2) Brazilian animals: from the brazilian "savana" (which is called cerrado) there are some great options - the lobo-guará (maned wolf); the tamanduá (giant ant eater); the onça (jaguar, which also fits in a rainforest biome); sloths; and Capybaras! (For them i would really recommend for inspiration the izu shaboten zoo in japan, they found out that capybaras like hot springs and is delightful)
And also from the rainforest a big cage with parakeets is AWESOME, i once entered one and it is beautiful, we could give them some fruits!
3) finally, even though we have other great options, as the mountain biome is one that you are looking forward to building i think that the Andean Condor, the bird with the biggest wingspan in the world would fit right in!

to match the theme of keeping a bit eco-friendly with all of the greenery roofs and planters, you could add solar panels for the electric instead of a generator + i think solar panels look really nice on roofs! (may not be functional and still need generators but would look really cool if possible)

While I like speed builds just fine, I really enjoy these kind of long form videos a bit more because I find hearing the entire thought process behind a build so inspiring! Great video, can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Late comment so don't know if you'll see this, but on the gift shop - might I suggest switching out the watercolour style signs for those dark metal ones that are in the base game (think you actually used the gorilla). They'd fit right in with the contrasting colour scheme and the modern style. Maybe run them as though they're standing atop the shelves, think that would look nicer than the current placement which is a little hodge-podge IMO.
Anyway, lovely build and video, looking forward to seeing this zoo develop.
I really like the format, with the slow-paced backgroundmusic and just showing bits and pieces of the build and a tour of the finished product. Hoping this format will work out for this series. I think the entrance area looks great and I find the low-key vibes much more appealing than some kind of grand entertainment-park like welcoming. Reminds me of the one in my sort-of-hometown, which has just a ticket-hut on one end and a rather basic house on the other. Really interested where you'll take this in sandbox, compared to the beginners guide.

Well Few, you have once again managed to get me sucked into Planet Zoo, not a bad thing for sure :D Like others have said, I really like the format you've used in this, and I'm sure future videos. Your imagination and creativity never cease to amaze me, not to mention your amazing skill. I'm really excited to see how you do the terraforming in this zoo. I've tried several things and can never seem to get things quite the way I want them. (Your Bat Cave episode was very informative btw.) Just one question really. Why aren't you using any props or mods since this is a Sandbox build. Personal choice I'm assuming. I'm also assuming this is one of the builds you referred to in your last Beginners Build video, but you know what they say about assuming LOL Very excited for future videos in this series. Just awesome as always!!!
Thank you!! I chose not to use workshop assets as I kind of want the achievement of building everything myself.... but I may back track on that when I become short on time!! And I've never used mods in Planet Zoo as they are quite notorious for breaking saves and I'd rather not have the risk. There isn't official mod support for the game so it's very open to issues, and I've kind of never felt I really needed to! Looking forward to building this series too, glad you enjoyed it!

You mentioned you were not happy with the gift shop. I'm not an expert but one thing that may add to it is a few video screens with random animal facts or facts about the Zoo itself. Just an idea! Love your videos and your accent as well very soothing. Have a great day!!

I can now see why building Zoos can take so long, looking forward to seeing this grow! Definitely agree on restricting movement through the gift shop door. Could you just disconnect the path the goes through the gift shop door? Or can you set the entrance gates to be one way and have the exit one on the interface between gift shop and outside world?

This is going to be a fun series! I believe the lion at Belfast is one of the very few barbary lions left! I think for your mountain area it'd be really cool to have a Himalayan area with snow leopards, red pandas, Himalayan brown bear ect

Some information about the zoo, from a local - the zoo is operated from the local council, there is an entry fee, but it comes from the residences rates which is why there is a run down aspects. There isn’t enough money to redevelop the zoo but it has received some grants to breed some animals like the red squirrel. It has a brand new lion enclosure, petting farm and coffee shop. There is donations packs but no direct donation bins. This money was used to improve habits. The lions are extinct in the wild which is surreal to see.

Great work, but why did you decide to do a hyper realistic style of building? It is impressive but different from your normal "let's play" style. I enjoyed the older style more, but just curious why the switch. I'll continue to watch :)
Thank you! So the main reason was that this is a zoo I've been building for fun in my freetime I decided to record in case I wanted to make any more content, so wasn't originally recording it to make into videos! But I also find that because things take literal hours to build in planet zoo it's very difficult to do my usual style as per Cities, and wanted to try and stay away from too much speed building as there's a lot of that in the PZ world already. But appreciate your feedback and will definitely take it on board, I'm not leaving my old style behind by any means, just felt this worked for me for the way I had recorded this series!

Okay sorry long comment lol. Anyway as someone from the Arabic peninsula (Oman) it always makes me sad to see people think we only have camels and it’s only a desert but we have a lot of mountains as well, yes we do have camels but we also have a lot more animals that live in mountains like, Arabic leopard, caracal, rock hyrax, Arabian tahr, striped hyena, arabian wildcat, Nubian ibex and sand cat. These are some that I can think of that live in Oman. Would love to see some ❤️
There's a actually quite a few dry/arid animals in Planet Zoo now so we shall definitely add some to the zoo (and ironically probably not going to have camels as I find them a little boring! but will definitely have caracal's and sand cats at the very least for sure!)
