      Thanks. I've had some absolute bargains over the last two years. Got some amazing little tents for £20 and under. Just got to keep checking Facebook and be quick when one comes up!

      Thanks. It's a great place. Loads of different ways to walk it. I chose an easy route with very little ascent!

    Well done on promoting the Valleys as a walking area. I agree with you that they are overlooked and are as wonderful as the more famous hills to the north.

      Yes. The diversity of views and the different types of walking all make it a special place. I've really enjoyed exploring them the last few years.

    Loving the videos Kev! Liked this one especially as my home town is Nelson and spend lots of my childhood up ' Sneggy' mountain. Thats the nickname for Senghennydd! Anyway keep it up mate!

    Yay’ the orange wonder! I’ve not used mine this year yet but I love this tent. It’s actually quite thick inner material. I was really impressed with the quality of it. I paid £60 for mine but it’s still worth it as it was unused.

    • @TheWalkingKev

      £60 is still a bargain for the quality of the tent. First time I've used mine for a long time and it made me realise what a great little tent it is. Still looks great at night as well!

    There are loads of valleys trig poitnts I haven't ticked off and have to say Kev you always peak my interest with these little miners lists, well done. I went on your website to see if it was on there but for some reason my pc blocked the site as unsafe, not sure why as have viewed it many times before ? I remember fancying that vango years ago (my fave colour is orange) but never got around to actually getting it - and there you are doing your usual bargain boast...you can go off people you know..lol. As ever, good watch. atb Al

      Cheers Al. I had the SSL expire on my website the other day. I've been updating the certificate today so should be fine in 24-48 hours. I've got a backlog of new routes to add as well!
      I haven't had any bargains for a while...

      Thanks. I honestly think most wild camping can be done in budget tents. This kind of camp is perfectly safe with any gear as long as you're warm enough.

      Thanks. Really helpful.
      I've done one night camping so far on beach.
      Next month 3 nights in Lake District.
      I need to plan because I'm hoping to cover so much, starting with Scafell Pike. Most of the places I go is Brecon Beacons, It's hard to beat.
      Keep your vids coming. 👍
      You have a very nice relaxed way of explaining things.

      @@JamieHarding5 thanks, appreciate the kind words. I've done a couple of coastal camps and loved them. Obviously done a few in the Beacons and lately been doing a few in the Valleys. Hopefully be back out again this weekend.

    Enjoyed this mate. Like i said over on insta that this is right above me and wish i camped there now but definitely will do soon. I’m surprised with what you said about it being common land as we have always understood it being owned by a local farming family.

    • @TheWalkingKev

      Maybe it is, I could well be wrong! I know a few hills around me are commons but I've probably imagined that this one is!
      Always feels weird that hills can have owners. It's a great spot to camp, I think it's nicely aligned so you get lots of mountain views and sea views.

    Just catching up on your videos Kev
    I use budget tents my first being the Vango Nevis which I used on its first night in pouring rain and it was brilliant, my favourite is the Vango Hydra which is semi geodesic and absolutely solid, bit weighty but totally reliable
    Good to see you using the Vango

    • @TheWalkingKev

      Cheers Jeff. I do love this little Vango.

    A spoonful of peanut butter in the pot noodle makes it a bit saucier IMO.

    • @TheWalkingKev

      Not something I've heard before! I don't think I've ever eaten peanut butter 🤔

    • @theecanmole

      @@TheWalkingKev I use peanut butter to protect myself from midges and sometimes for chafing. Apparently peanut butter can also be eaten with slices of bread. I'd check Google first before you try that.😀

    I find it difficult to believe tour daughter is a "Welsh speaker", when I, as a non-Welsh-speaking Englishman, have no trouble with it (albeit after a few years living in Wales:- Rough guide to pronouncing 'Cefn Eglwysilan': Kev-an Egg-loy-sil-an.

    • @TheWalkingKev

      It's just a new word for her and she's only 11! And I asked her last year when we walked it together. She's not a big fan of speaking Welsh around me as she knows I don't speak it.
