There are some songs, -actually a lot- which will joyfully fuck up with the natural 4/4 tructure just to annoy lazy DJs. You _need_ to know your tracks. A software or a display on a CDj helps a lot. One just cant memporize 2000 track structures.
DJ Hapa, Thank you so much for this video man!! This is the kind of information/teaching I’ve been looking for since I’m now diving into DJING. Good stuff man! Time to go set my cues.
Nice vid very helpful I use scratch live n use similar technic I try to tell other djs learn you're music first because I see it all the time at the clubs when they really Don't know where to throw a song in or to take it out I take the time once I purchased a song to scope it out look for points in the song to take it out so I can never be lost in a mix
Hey dj hapa . I like this method. Any other colors you use and if you do how do you use them. Red 8bars yellow 4bars pink 16 bars. Very helpful and well explained video. Thank you . DjbigL
I get it sort of ,still alil lost. im still kinda new to dging. 9 months in. I can tell its gonna help me big time .I will watch till I get it. thank you .
This video was incredibly helpful, thank you! What exactly are you looking for when you count a beat? I was confused on some of the parts where you were counting on Serato.
You can adjust the tempo of songs to increase or decrease their BPM. This way you can match songs that don't have the exact same BPM. Would still advise mixing between tracks with similar BPMs.
SUBBED! got 2k dj gear and was missing the tables. They are coming so I will be able to practice and learning right! Thank you :) I.T by day, Noob Dj beginner @ night
wow that was great i had no idea how to use cue pts but this makes a lot of but i have 2 problems 1 i dont know how to count and 2 if i set cue pts does ser dj intro keeps my entire library saved w those cue pts or do i need to set the cue pts each time i do a new gig cause that would be impossible to cue up 5000 songs every time thanks 4 the vid looking forward 2 seen more stuff from u
But what is he doing with his hands? Because he touches all the buttons, but I have no clue what it is for. Besides that you still have to time really well, right? Because you should start the 8 bar on the left exactly on the same time as the 8 bar on the right? Is there a trick for that?
Open up Serato when your hardware is disconnected and then play whichever track you you want on Serato, then once you play it on the tracks there will be cue point boxes up top.
for a producer ,this beginner dj lesson has actually helped better my understanding. thankyou
This is the most helpful video I've found on this so far. Every other video doesn't help at all lol. Thank you!!
Some of us are actually born with natural rhythm its hard sorting through all the bullshit

Samantha Meholick i
Probably the most important video a beginner dj or even one that has been playing a while needs to watch.
This guy explains things so well in all his videos, thanks so much
Thanks man. From an instrumental musician getting into DJing this makes so much sense. I’m ready to work work work work work.
This has to be one of the best tutorial i have seen on creating cue points..nice!
Color coded cue points to reflect the length of the section: brilliant! I will start using this strategy right away. Thank you so much!
Beyond awesomeness your going straight to heaven for making this video with all your sins forgiven, absolutely amazing bro 👍🏾👍🏾
Nicely done.. Drummer for decades but new to DJ’n. Counting, no problem, but this makes mixing much easier.. Thanks for the vids.
To play a 3 hour gig this is gonna help me to keep from screwing up the mix! Thanks for your help.
I like the concept with color coding the queue point 4 bar yellow 8 bars red... I am still new to mixing, and this will be a big hep to me! Thank you!

very helpful! thanks DJ Hapa! 1 question though, is this only going to work with songs in same bpm?
You can adjust the tempo of songs to increase or decrease their BPM. This way you can match songs that don't have the exact same BPM. Would still advise mixing between tracks with similar BPMs.
This makes more sense. I would do intro, verse and chorus but this makes more sense
Very informative. Thank you DJ Hapa
thank you sooo much for this video, is the best video on youtube.
SUBBED! got 2k dj gear and was missing the tables. They are coming so I will be able to practice and learning right! Thank you :) I.T by day, Noob Dj beginner @ night
I have a question,on a 100% scale, how much % understanding should you have and how much % music taste should you have ?
How do you mix songs that both have vocals? any tips?
wow that was great i had no idea how to use cue pts but this makes a lot of but i have 2 problems 1 i dont know how to count and 2 if i set cue pts does ser dj intro keeps my entire library saved w those cue pts or do i need to set the cue pts each time i do a new gig cause that would be impossible to cue up 5000 songs every time thanks 4 the vid looking forward 2 seen more stuff from u
DJ PTNY D serato dj saves all the cue points you don't have to do it over and over 👍
How do you get the cue points to play at the exact same time? looks like they locked on together
Love your channel for informations advice bro.
To put cue points on one song is fine. To do 1000 songs is a daunting task.
Where can I see the rest of this videos??
Great video! Extremely helpful .Thanks man
Thank you so much sir and ur lessons really helped me so much thank you once again
This is the best tutorial i have ever seen, but i dont get the bar counting bit
airidas juozenas its 1 234.2 234.3 234.4 234.... look at d first no.
But what is he doing with his hands? Because he touches all the buttons, but I have no clue what it is for. Besides that you still have to time really well, right? Because you should start the 8 bar on the left exactly on the same time as the 8 bar on the right? Is there a trick for that?
no trick needed, you can adjust the songs after you press play, you just gotta see the bars and had the BPMs matching
so how do you know when cut the other track (mix out), do you just have to know the track really well?
Do you have to download the songs on Serato?
Even the word it's self understand you my brother
Great video! I wish you had a branch in nyc
I would love to know how to mix using serato itch on my NS6 can you please help I'm so new to this my ears are wet!
now i am in a good mood
As a DJ who has to use serato buns ty so much
Takes so much prep which is a big problem if you have so many songs to deal with. You gotta spend time organizing a playlist and learning the songs.
Me personally The down beat where the vocals start then instrumental then I come in 2 verses and a hook
Learn it was very important to me. Thank's
You are just awesome!
this video is gr8 and helpful....thank you.
Yo is it me, or does it sound like Hapa's vocals tuned up on the pitch fader lol
where do you get pop music like this which has so many instrumental parts
Great video, understanding how to dj
Could you mix a 8 bar section halfway through a 16 bar section then?
Yep.
Hi thanks for the tips love it keep teaching us bro..
Well explained, well done 👍
Where can I find that color coding mentioned...
Open up Serato when your hardware is disconnected and then play whichever track you you want on Serato, then once you play it on the tracks there will be cue point boxes up top.
I loved it! Thank you. :)
Please do more of these! ;)

Nice video but I have a question: can I use serato with my Hercules air S ?
Here is the list of compatible hardwares, others won't work
serato.com/dj/hardware
yes you can.
The Jogvision is the only Hercules controller we currently support.
Wheres the next part ?
When mixing between two songs, will I always have to have them be the same tempo?
Cameron Hills
You can also play something double or half as fast
Good technique to come from house to hip hop 130bpm -> 65bpm
Major Key Alert 🔑
OMG this video was dope...thank you
thanks !!! coloring..wow
you a god, thanks dude.
i appreciate this dearly ive been adding cue points wrong
and how can i find those 4 or 8 bars
you have to count, its actually not 4 and 8, they are 16 and 32
th-cam.com/video/fFcml2J5ElE/w-d-xo.html
Is it me or his voice pitch is higher on this video than the first part?
