These look fantastic. I'm in the process of printing out a Dwarf army. I'm an old Warhammer player so my initial inclination was to do individual bases with movement trays. But after seeing this, I'm starting to lean more towards multi-basing.
Great looking bases and paint jobs on the models. I'm getting into KoW and am in the process of multibasing an Ogre army right now. I've been taking tips and inspiration from a variety of videos including this one.
This is awesome! Scarecrows can only come in regiments though but having some in 'troops' will definitely help you build a legion if needed. Mantic should have a link to this on their webpage!
I'm a KoW newbie so that's a bit of a mistake my end, thanks for letting me know! I'll probably only play casual games anyway so I'm sure my buddies won't roast me for combining scarecrows and spectres for friendly games
Cool. I know from playing loads of Deadzone that Mantic don't always have models for every unit, so that's good to know re: doppelgangers 'counts as'. This talk of troops and regiments is making me keen on getting some games in now! I've watched enough KoW batreps to know I'll enjoy the game
@@NoProcrastinationMiniatures the Nightstalker and Northern Alliance races have a pretty full range save for the void lurker (I used a greater air elemental - check out it as it looks like something else lol)
Nice! They look cool. Yeh a nighttime victorian street theme is actually a really cool theme for these models! I used to be on the old mantic forums- didnt know about that KoW forum, will have to check it out properly 👍
Your minis look fantastic! Will you ever do a bat rep for KoW on your channel? Also as a side note... Mantic, get this video on your multibasing section on your website!
Thanks man 👍 I might do a very casual 'first play' type game, but I'm a total KoW novice so it really wouldn't be a proper 'how to play' and definitely not a 'how to play well'!
Thanks! Probably won't do a 'how to play' as I'm a KoW novice, but might do a 'first play' with the starter set models. It won't be a real tutorial though. There's a channel 'death by dragons' who has a series of how to play, I remember them being good for a complete novice
Great tutorial, nicely done, subbed. Just starting my KoW army, ratkin, went half and half with a friend on war in the hold. Supergluing the minis to the base, how do you prevent frosting or white patches caused by the superglue? Had issues in the past and don’t want it to happen again.
The Ratkin look great, I've got some veer-myn for deadzone but no ratkin yet. The best way to reduce that frosting is to get the superglue to set faster (using a superglue accelerator) or have some airflow across the area you're glueing which reduces the amount of vapour coming off the wet glue settling on the model which causes the frosting. If it's already frosted you could trying brushing on some matt varnish or matt medium (or lahmium medium) when the glue is totally dry / set (a few hours). This can get rid of it. I'd always try any of these things on one model initially to test the results first though!
@@NoProcrastinationMiniatures thank you, I’ll give that a go. I’m used to GW basing, plastic glue and no issues. I used some superglue on some Rumble slam resin minis, clear bases, and had mixed/poor results. I’ll look for an accelerator 👍
Hi, yes I've done more of the Northern Alliance and have videos planned for those- was hoping to have them done by now but my hobby time has been spent playing games badly! Coming fairly soon hopefully
@@NoProcrastinationMiniatures that will be great as that is the faction i am building first and am struggling to make them interesting yet fit in with the rest of the army

Thanks for the feedback... I've also recently bought a load of the new mantic ogres!

@@NoProcrastinationMiniatures not a mistake at all. Scarecrows are also commonly used as doppelgangers - one of the most fun units in the game!

Looks great 👍 I went with a Gothic london look for my bases, with cobblestone streets and lampposts
That sounds awesome, have you got any pictures up on Instagram or somewhere?

Great paintjob. Great bases. Very good look overall.
Thanks!
Great video as always. I like the option for unique bases but I also like the regiments from GW. Look forward to a game soon!
Wow! Those look super awesome! Congrats!
Thank you 👍
Really useful video to watch, will you be making a video on how to play?

I've found epoxy glue better for clear bases. Clear bases show up even a small amount of superglue frosting worse than anything else
have you done any more models for these two armys as i would be interested to see how you painted them also

Amazing work, ugly critters at their best.
They're pretty scary!
