    Hello, my Mom's good friend was our registered nurse. Her daughter was a registered nurse to. This daughter married a crop duster who was now working in Mississippi. One summer they sent their daughter to be with her Nurse Grandma. When it was time to pick her up to return home. Crop Duster father turns up at the local grass field airport in a red & white PS- 18. It was the first airplane that I ever touched. I was impressed by how little of it was actually there at the airport. I could not believe they were going to actually fly from Texas to Mississippi in that cloth airplane. They succeeded.

    Probably just me, but I found it interesting and actually helpful hearing you call out your inputs.
    You can't see what's happening at the aircraft specifically with surface controls, so hearing you call out what inputs you're giving, helps to see the correlation of input commands to the aircrafts actions.
    Its a small detail, but great to hear in an RC flight video. I'm sure its just a engrained reaction you have, as full scale pilots do the same.🙂

      Thanks for the comment! I TRY hard to do a good job of communicating while flying. Admittedly, it does take a lot to communicate all the details, but when properly executed, I hope this helps people to see and "feel" the controls of the plane, while watching the response of the plane too. This is a way for people to size up planes from their own position, and not just take my word for it ;)
      Appreciate the feedback!

    At $279 with the floats, this thing is a deal. The big tires make it perfect for the desert environments where I frequently camp. And I love the black/white color scheme and graphics. It's too bad they're all sold out. I'm on their notification list. I'll grab one when it's available.

      NOOOOOOOOO! This is a GREAT plane, but they will be back, and if you do decide to back-order one, you won't be disappointed. It's a great choice. If you have to wait, the 1.7m is a better option, and it's still not HUGE.
      However, if it IS out of stock, have you considered the similar Husky bit.ly/32lxCCu OR Timber bit.ly/3OjD6jf (1.5m Turbo Timber EVO?)

    Quick question, I am still learning and I already invest on a good Spectrum transmitter because I like the planes with the safe option from Horizon, but I do like some of the FMS planes, so the question is, which is the option for me to order a FMS plane and bind with my Spectrum transmitter and activate the safe option? Thanks for the answer in advance

  • @benldr

    Can be let out of the tires to make them slightly softer or switch to foam tires? Also how does it compare to the Funcub NG?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I believe you can fill the air through a valve, similar to that which would be found on a basketball or football. I think it's called a needle valve.
      I have no idea about the Funcub's performance since we haven't ever worked with it. The Funcub is a super light plane, from what I understand, and it's really expensive if I recall correctly. Are they even made anymore??? Sorry I can't answer this part.

    • @benldr
      @benldr 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BrianPhillipsRC the Fun Cub NG is the Fun Cub Next Gen and it has more power with similar wing loading. It's about $450 new I believe. I'm not sure how available replacement parts is the only thing.

    Hey Brian I absolutely love your channel man I wish I had 10% of the planes and jet you have😁 I have a question wondering if you could help me out....ok I fly fpv quadcopters and I still love flying my planes however I'm looking at getting a radio that will be great for both....I love the radiomaster tx12 cc2500 even though it sucks for protocols I just love the size and feel it fits nice in my my hands however radiomaster has came out with the boxer and I was thinking of getting the 4in1 version and then just put an elrs module on the back for my quadcopters but here's my question....would it be a perfect radio for rc planes and jets in case I want one with retracts and flaps leds ect ect....I have had my eyes on the nx8 for awhile but I don't want to have to haul 2 radios to the field to go fly....sad thing is there are a dozen rc planes and jet I want but are bnf and I don't even have a radio for them😫 I have a sensei sts that I will never EVER get rid of because it is the only plane that I have seen with drop doors! I don't even think they make rc planes/jets with drop doors anymore and being able to fly over my son and his friends and drop candy or those lil parachute guys is so AWESOME! LOL they love it but with the faa cracking down on us drone guys sub 250g is my sweet spot now with certain exceptions 🤫....so would the boxer meet my needs with rc planes with retracts/flaps flaperons/ safe as3x /vector....I would love to get your feedback because honestly I would truly value your opinion....not that there isn't other good rc reviewers out here but hey....if I wanna know how to throw a football I'll call Tom Brady if I wanna learn about rc planes/jets I'm calling Brian Phillips 😁👍🏽✌🏽

    I totally watched the whole 2hr vid on the unboxig & setup and both flight vids. Not that I needed to for a simple build, but it was enjoyable, was a great format, great personality and there's always golden nuggets of info to pick up.
    You've definitely got me sold on this one. Kinda disappointed it's not available till Oct. Any insights to why such a long delay? Might they be working on some upgrades?🤔

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, and I agree, disappointing, since this is a GREAT plane! You might seriously consider back ordering one, if you want to make sure you get your hands on it. I know they're running some specials on 1.3m, but to be 100% honest with you...I LOVE the 1.7m, and kinda on the fence about the 1.3m - they're just NOT the same plane. Ususally size doesn't make THAT big of a difference, but it sure does on this plane!

      OR
      bprc.me/CZ_Cessna150 (In stock as BNF)
      bprc.me/CZ_Cub (In stock too!)
      I know the later are a LOT more money, but to be perfectly, honest, the Carbon Z Cub and Carbon Z Cessna 150T are AMAZING, while the 1.7m PA-18 is very dang good...

      @Bluesmurfpilot ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrianPhillipsRC great, more options to choose from 😏. I came from 1st seeing the 1.3m in another review, which inevitably brought me to yours and then your 1.7m. Yeah, I don't think the 1.3 is for me. Its cute for sure, but I'm looking to find a balance between when I get into large scale jets and something to learn on, have fun with (besides oval circuits, that STOL is pretty sweet, more so for you dont need a long runway aka:grassway). Thx for the reply and links, I'll check out them out. Cheers!!

      It's excellent, but much less refined...and it's bigger ;) The TT Evo has more features, and for this reason, if you're trying to split hairs, look at Landing Gear, Lights, and BNF vs PNP - these will help you make your decision. I LOVE the 1.7m PA-18!!!

    The price of the 1300mm RTF is so mucher cheaper when you add on the transmitter and radio. I had a trainer cub years ago and sold it. I'm looking to get back into the hobby and I want the 1.7m with the ability to run flaperons or use the ailerons as speed brakes. Im not as worried about have safe or reflex. Whats the cheapest way to get these added extra abilities without spending $500 on the radio and receiver?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There ARE cheaper radio and receiver options out there, if you want to look around. We've had good luck with LemonRX receivers in the past: bprc.me/LemonRX
      There are other radio systems out there, we just aren't familiar with them. I started out using Spektrum, so that's what I'm comfortable and familiar with. And Spektrum is popular so it's easy to get help, whether from someone at the field, or people here on TH-cam.
