True! But keep in mind in Cypher 1 they were very young, they were still developing their skills, in Cypher 2 & 3 they're much stronger, and Cypher 4 is more of a swaggy "we made it" anthem. Trust us… at some point the language barrier won’t even matter anymore because a lot of ARMY feel like their Korean is what gives the song meaning. I’ve seen other groups try to make English versions of their songs and frankly most times it sounds off and doesn’t go as well as if did before. (While some BTS members do have some songs translated to English, it’s pretty good overall). But it’s not something they do a lot. I mean just the fact that they can even add in the English along with Korean so seamlessly is why we give their lyricism such high praise. Once you check out songs like ‘Ddaeng’ which is a rap line diss song, you’ll see why we say this. RM literally plays around with English and the word ‘Ddaeng’ in Korean multiple times using different meanings that even native Korean speakers couldn’t fully grasp. Word play, poetry, you name it, it’s like it’s second nature to these guys. They’re geniuses, we’re not even playing about it. 😁💜🔥
Please don't let not understanding Korean stop you from incredible music. Most of their songs are gonna be korean. Music doesn't always have to be what it means but more how it makes you feel. Also if you read the lyrics one time you will understand. For you guys I would recommend watching the the MVs first because most of the MVs have a deeper meaning and the dancing is insane you don't wanna miss. And then you can watch again and read the lyrics Army doesn't care how long a video is. We prefer you pause and take your time 💜💜💜
Yoongi comes off as a bad boy, but he's actually super sweet. He was pretty angry when he made that mixtape. He's mellowed out a lot now. His music still goes super hard, it's just less angry and more meaningful. They're all friends cuz they got it out the mud together. BTS went through a lot together and it really bonded them. They're more like family than friends.
Suga and RM got a lot of hate when they left the the underground rap scene and signed with Bighit they were told that they weren’t rappers and sell outs this was Suga response to the hate however none of those haters responded back. Agust D is Suga spelled back wards and D is for his home town Daegu. It looks good to me. Suga isn't really the bad boy. He swears and speaks his mind a bit more but he's also a very gentle, kind, introspective person. They're all so nice and hard working. Army use a cat emoji to represent suga because he's like a cat. He sleeps a lot, scratches if you bother him, but is actually sensitive and gentle. Having said that, he doesn't take shit from others. He has a lot of tracks where he calls other rappers and industry people out for how they treat BTS. He will hold it in and then bury you in lyrics.

BTS really were treated like shit by the whole kpop industry for years because they were poor, from a small company, lacked connections and were seen as try hards because of how seriously they took their hip hop roots. BTS actually became famous overseas in North and South America and South East Asia BEFORE they became household names in Korea. It's the first time this had happened. They're a bit of an anomaly.

It's not about what role each person plays in the group. Everyone does what they see fit at the moment and what they want to show to the world, all of them are versatile in their art, both alone and as a group. If you want to see that versatility, you can watch "Arson" or "More" by J-Hope, so you can change your perspective on hobi :) Both RM and Agust D/Suga have "slow" songs or songs with pop or r&b, as well as the vocalists in the group can also make songs with themes quite far from "pop"

J-hope is the bubbly one, always smiling and laughing until you do something wrong, then lord help you✋Suga (Agust D) is a bad boy on stage and the biggest softie off stage, he might pretend he gives no fvcks but he's actually really kind and gentle.

For the 1st month after I started checking out BTS I felt the same about wishing to have some more songs in English but after a while you adapt and get used to hearing it in Korean and now I prefer them singing in Korean but it more authentic
i hope y’all won’t let the music being in korean stop u from exploring bts’s or other non English artists’s music. the world is so big and full of great music not in English. i’ve found so many artists that are amazing but don’t have a lick of english in their music. while i understand it’s overwhelming to have to listen and read lyrics to understand a song, it can kinda come across a little weird to say that you only wanna listen to english songs from a non English speaking act💜 i like your reactions and hope you’ll do more to get why we love these guys so much. i really think the rapline’s debut albums indigo (rm), d-day (suga/agustd) and jack in the box (j-hope) will interest you. rm has some cool features on there that you might like including anderson paak and erykah badu. he also has a song featuring wale from his first mixtape, rm, called change.
Juice World &Suga on a song called "Girl of My Dreams".. RM recenly released an album called Right Place Wrong Person, it debuted #1 top Rap album Billboard last May. If you like Tyler The Creator, some songs has the same vibes. It's quite experimental on some songs, it incorporated diff. genres, like jazz, blues, hiphop, trap, rock, indie vibes.
Try Outro Tear, it's the 3 of them together, just the rap line. It reads like a breakup song (and it's fine to take it that way) but Suga wrote it when they were considering disbanding. And bite your tongue about wanting their English tracks! Most English rappers you can't understand half of what they're saying either. Read the lyrics then go on flow👍 In terms of personalities RM is always very poised, he's the poet; J-Hope is sunshine, very playful and you can hear that he's a dancer in his flow; Suga is all guts, it's all raw pain with him 💜

Suga is not a bad guy. in the group or solo he just raps with so much conviction and passion. and his personality comes off cold and standoffish, but he's. totally the opposite. I always be thankful for the way that BTS started in the music industry as the underdog and being broke. because that hunger and passion is what came out of that.

Honestly dudes I find it funny how you guys are wondering how they are friends because they are different but if you get to know them you'll see that they are similar in some ways to with all due respect you're looking at it like a boy band and thats not what these guys are. These guys lived together for several years and have become as close as brothers however these are seven artists individual who choose to come together as a team and rule the world. When it comes to bad boy kid big brother those type of labels apply to every one of the seven. you see you have to keep your mind open and let go of that boy band State of mind they all do everything singers rappers dancers produces composers songwriters the only thing is they each have their specialties. rm is the leader which basically means the one who plays go between to the members and the company. he also is the boss whatever he says goes. Although he doesn't use that power very much. The oldest is jin is he is a vocalists who is very handsome they call him the visual suga is the main and best rapper of Bts he's also the producer out of the members in the group. Jhope is a rapper but his role is dance leader so he works with the choreographers to learn the dances first and then teaches the other guys. He's also the best dancer. Jimin is one of the main vocalists and his specialty is contemporary dance so basically he's ballerio he's also a black belt in taekwondo and another one I forget what but you don't want to mess with him.😂 V is also a vocalist can play the saxophone his stylei s more jazz. Last but certainly not least is the center of the group the youngest and lead singer Jungkook he he is the lead singer in the center of the group for a reason he's hands down the best vocal in the group he is also very kind-hearted and very strong where as most of the other guys are into martial arts or JKs is boxing. I know they look young they are fully grown menthe ages range from 27\ 28 to 31\32 ( in South Korea it's common not to count the first your born so the ages can be different then in America.) all seven members recently invested into the military for 2-year mandatory military service until 2025 however the oldest member to go in first jin has already been discharged and the second member to be discharged this month is j-hope. The rest of the members will be discharged in June of 2025 of the ones who could went in together

Each of the three BTS rappers have different sides to them. - j-hope's darker side is seen in tracks like Arson and More - RM"s hard side is in songs like Joke and his soft side is in tracks like Wildflower - Suga goes hard in a lot of songs like Daechwita and Haegum. But he's an incredibly diverse producer of various sounds, and his melodic song Amygdala is one of my favorites (it outlines some of his comeup hardships).

It's BTS-pop not in the K-pop category like Suga said in AGUSTD,I believe that Suga is the most talented rapper ever, he isn't embarrassed to show his emotions or his real self,and his special delivery,the way he can be so soft and so aggressive at the same time is so captivating
J-hope has a more melodic rap style. Even when he's going hard it's not like Suga and RMs style. And in the collab with J Cole he really didn't showcase his rap skills because J Cole is his muse/Idol. They all have mixtapes that came out early in their careers that you can find on Spotify and Apple. I've been in the BTS fandom since 2018. I was a teenager when rap began. No jokes LOL. So I'm pretty familiar with the different rap styles. I heard you guys speak about needing to know what they're saying and that's true to get the gist of the song but once you know what they're saying for me I just vibe to their cadences and the music. I hope you guys continue to explore the rap line and BTS in general. They've made a lot of good music and the earlier albums are more R&b rap. I would encourage you to do a album listening for like their first four albums. I wouldn't say you would have to dive into their Japanese albums. Trust us… at some point the language barrier won’t even matter anymore because a lot of ARMY feel like their Korean is what gives the song meaning. I’ve seen other groups try to make English versions of their songs and frankly most times it sounds off and doesn’t go as well as if did before. (While some BTS members do have some songs translated to English, it’s pretty good overall). But it’s not something they do a lot.
I mean just the fact that they can even add in the English along with Korean so seamlessly is why we give their lyricism such high praise. Once you check out songs like ‘Ddaeng’ which is a rap line diss song, you’ll see why we say this. RM literally plays around with English and the word ‘Ddaeng’ in Korean multiple times using different meanings that even native Korean speakers couldn’t fully grasp.
Word play, poetry, you name it, it’s like it’s second nature to these guys. They’re geniuses, we’re not even playing about it. 😁💜🔥

Yoongi comes off as a bad boy, but he's actually super sweet. He was pretty angry when he made that mixtape. He's mellowed out a lot now. His music still goes super hard, it's just less angry and more meaningful. They're all friends cuz they got it out the mud together. BTS went through a lot together and it really bonded them. They're more like family than friends.
Suga and RM got a lot of hate when they left the the underground rap scene and signed with Bighit they were told that they weren’t rappers and sell outs this was Suga response to the hate however none of those haters responded back. All seven members come from a different part of Korea, none of them from Seoul where they met and trained together.
So yes, it's pretty hard to imagine they are so close. J-hope and Suga come from two areas of Korea that are historically, culturally and politically in conflict with each other. Yet these two are each other's biggest hype men who write and perform gag songs together (watch a live clip of "Otsukare" for a peek at a shockingly goofy side of them).
One of the members was scouted off a city bus to be an actor, and had no singing or dance experience at all. The company trained him from scratch just so he could join the group (Jin, who critics call "The Silver Voice"). Another tried to quit but was begged to stay by the members (J-Hope). One failed a singing competition try-out, but was asked to join BTS anyway (JK, the main vocalist). One member was just at an audition to support a friend, and was asked to give it a shot by the scouts (V). Another was hired as a producer and tricked into joining the group. They promised him there would be no dancing (SUGA). One member thought he would audition but had only aspired to become a backup dancer someday. A teacher at his school encouraged him to think bigger. The company agreed with the teacher (Jimin, the one whose voice you can never get out of your head). The leader forgot the lines to his own song at an audition, but someone there saw his potential and sent him to Big Hit. They signed him on the spot and built the group around this 16 year-old literal genius (RM, who has an I.Q. of 148).

It looks good to me. Suga isn't really the bad boy. He swears and speaks his mind a bit more but he's also a very gentle, kind, introspective person. They're all so nice and hard working. Army use a cat emoji to represent suga because he's like a cat. He sleeps a lot, scratches if you bother him, but is actually sensitive and gentle.
Having said that, he doesn't take shit from others. He has a lot of tracks where he calls other rappers and industry people out for how they treat BTS. He will hold it in and then bury you in lyrics.

the way i describe them is if wutang had 4 singers and 3 rappers, conscious rapping r&b smooth vocals think nelly and kelly or ashanti and ja rule the rapper and r&b or pop singer collabs of the 2000s. thats bts. they dont always stick to this formula they switch it up but typically the rappers will be on the verses the singers on the chorus.

BTS actually became famous overseas in North and South America and South East Asia BEFORE they became household names in Korea. It's the first time this had happened. They're a bit of an anomaly.

And with RM he switches a lot between English and Korean on most of his songs since he's fluent, so you can honestly listen to most songs by him if the language barrier is an issue but they have English subtitles on most of their songs that have Music Videos to close the gap on the language barrier.

For the 1st month after I started checking out BTS I felt the same about wishing to have some more songs in English but after a while you adapt and get used to hearing it in Korean and now I prefer them singing in Korean but it more authentic
i hope y’all won’t let the music being in korean stop u from exploring bts’s or other non English artists’s music. the world is so big and full of great music not in English. i’ve found so many artists that are amazing but don’t have a lick of english in their music. while i understand it’s overwhelming to have to listen and read lyrics to understand a song, it can kinda come across a little weird to say that you only wanna listen to english songs from a non English speaking act💜 i like your reactions and hope you’ll do more to get why we love these guys so much. i really think the rapline’s debut albums indigo (rm), d-day (suga/agustd) and jack in the box (j-hope) will interest you. rm has some cool features on there that you might like including anderson paak and erykah badu. he also has a song featuring wale from his first mixtape, rm, called change.
Juice World &Suga on a song called "Girl of My Dreams".. RM recenly released an album called Right Place Wrong Person, it debuted #1 top Rap album Billboard last May. If you like Tyler The Creator, some songs has the same vibes. It's quite experimental on some songs, it incorporated diff. genres, like jazz, blues, hiphop, trap, rock, indie vibes.
And right place wrong person is mostly in English, which may help them
Try Outro Tear, it's the 3 of them together, just the rap line. It reads like a breakup song (and it's fine to take it that way) but Suga wrote it when they were considering disbanding.
And bite your tongue about wanting their English tracks! Most English rappers you can't understand half of what they're saying either. Read the lyrics then go on flow👍
In terms of personalities RM is always very poised, he's the poet; J-Hope is sunshine, very playful and you can hear that he's a dancer in his flow; Suga is all guts, it's all raw pain with him

JIN is the first that was released (June 12, 2024), and he will be releasing a solo album very soon. J-Hope will be out in less than two weeks (October 17, 2024). Then we can look forward to June 2025, when the rest of the members will be released. They already have a comeback planned, and they resigned with their agency in 2023. Honestly dudes I find it funny how you guys are wondering how they are friends because they are different but if you get to know them you'll see that they are similar in some ways to with all due respect you're looking at it like a boy band and thats not what these guys are. These guys lived together for several years and have become as close as brothers however these are seven artists individual who choose to come together as a team and rule the world. When it comes to bad boy kid big brother those type of labels apply to every one of the seven. you see you have to keep your mind open and let go of that boy band State of mind they all do everything singers rappers dancers produces composers songwriters the only thing is they each have their specialties. rm is the leader which basically means the one who plays go between to the members and the company. he also is the boss whatever he says goes. Although he doesn't use that power very much. The oldest is jin is he is a vocalists who is very handsome they call him the visual suga is the main and best rapper of Bts he's also the producer out of the members in the group. Jhope is a rapper but his role is dance leader so he works with the choreographers to learn the dances first and then teaches the other guys. He's also the best dancer. Jimin is one of the main vocalists and his specialty is contemporary dance so basically he's ballerio he's also a black belt in taekwondo and another one I forget what but you don't want to mess with him.😂 V is also a vocalist can play the saxophone his stylei s more jazz. Last but certainly not least is the center of the group the youngest and lead singer Jungkook he he is the lead singer in the center of the group for a reason he's hands down the best vocal in the group he is also very kind-hearted and very strong where as most of the other guys are into martial arts or JKs is boxing.
I know they look young they are fully grown menthe ages range from 27\ 28 to 31\32 ( in South Korea it's common not to count the first your born so the ages can be different then in America.) all seven members recently invested into the military for 2-year mandatory military service until 2025 however the oldest member to go in first jin has already been discharged and the second member to be discharged this month is j-hope. The rest of the members will be discharged in June of 2025 of the ones who could went in together

Yeah so Yoongi/Suga/Agust D is the savage one of the rap line, J-hope/Hobi has sick flow and sense of rhythm, RM/namjoon is the philosopher. My favourite rap line song is hands down Outro: Tear, there is a great live version floating around out there on yt
Each of the three BTS rappers have different sides to them.
- j-hope's darker side is seen in tracks like Arson and More
- RM"s hard side is in songs like Joke and his soft side is in tracks like Wildflower
- Suga goes hard in a lot of songs like Daechwita and Haegum. But he's an incredibly diverse producer of various sounds, and his melodic song Amygdala is one of my favorites (it outlines some of his comeup hardships).

And in the collab with J Cole he really didn't showcase his rap skills because J Cole is his muse/Idol. They all have mixtapes that came out early in their careers that you can find on Spotify and Apple.
I've been in the BTS fandom since 2018. I was a teenager when rap began. No jokes LOL. So I'm pretty familiar with the different rap styles. I heard you guys speak about needing to know what they're saying and that's true to get the gist of the song but once you know what they're saying for me I just vibe to their cadences and the music. I hope you guys continue to explore the rap line and BTS in general. They've made a lot of good music and the earlier albums are more R&b rap. I would encourage you to do a album listening for like their first four albums. I wouldn't say you would have to dive into their Japanese albums. I would recommend these.
