My jaw hit the floor when she started singing and I realised, after listening to her on Spotify and now live for the first time, that she really does sound like that.
@@marrow94 Agreed on Timefighter. She has so many great songs but it's Timefighter that I listen to the most right now. What a jam, and the lyrics are so true.
I feel validated somehow that Timefighter is probably my favorite song (at least like, 80% of the time) of hers and Julien also requested it. Thanks, JB.
@@jacobblizard2413 Hey Jacob! Love your work with Lucy. You provide the perfect background for her voice and songs. Kudos to the rest of the band of course! Keep on rocking guys
@@GrnutSniper Hey! the song is in g minor/B flat major. when it's just bass drums and vocals, it's g minor and b flat major chords, then when the guitars come in it goes Gm, F, Eb a couple times. the chorus is Bb, Eb, Gm, Eb, Gm, Eb, Gm, F, Eb and then the rock out section is just Gm, F, Eb, with one rogue B flat in the outro instance. There's some funny business during the first solo w chromatic passing chords that i have played so many times i don't really remember what to call them. more or less Gm, D/f#, F, C/e, Eb and replace the C/e with a d major the second time around. sorry for the rambling answer, and thanks for the kind words about the guitar playing :)
Overrated precious indie twaddle. The Juno soudtrack already happened. I hate the new indie. All this Courtney Barnett, Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus stuff is so bland and self conscious. Matador records is on a mission to sign every super white early twenties girl dressed in Urban Outfitters with a Fender Mustang and a composition notebook full of sappy poetry. At least Liz Phair had some attitude.
I'm always really curious to ask this when I encounter an opinion that runs completely counter to mine. What album have you listened to most this month? I promise no judgement. I'm just hoping for some insight.

she is mad underrated, Jeez...
I'm generally over 'underrated' comments, but in this case, I don't think Lucy *could* be overrated?
"Night Shift" is a fucking anthem.
Lucy: "You don't have to be sad to make something worth hearing."
Also Lucy: "Fun fact: Julien Baker's playing later."
00:45 "Addictions"
04:39 "The Shell"
09:34 "Body to Flame"
15:56 "Timefighter"
19:57 "I Don't Wanna be Funny Anymore"
23:46 "Night Shift"
30:49 "Historians"

Legend👏🏼👏🏼
the thing i like most about i don't wanna be funny anymore is that she is funny, she is cute, she is smart and she is an artist
i would die to see lucy dacus cause i just know heaven is just her singing idc
I think this is my very favorite version of Timefighter that I've heard. The 5% extra violence in the guitars really sets it apart.
I saw this song live and the guitars were breathtaking!
@@rawbanana7687 I'm jealous. I'm really hoping to see them live for the first time in Chicago in October.
@@alexstewart839 Did you go to see her at Park West? I saw her that night and then the next day in Madison. She and her band were amazing.

This rocks more oldschool than anything new I have heard in years.
i love her so much, lucy dacus just touches my soul
I can't express how much I agree with you. Listening to Lucy wraps me in a timeless stream where I just exist.
I love her voice so much. What am I saying, I love everything about her music.

This might me the 5th time i watch this. Lucy is amazing
wow the violin and guitar on Body to Flame was incredibly impressive great way to hear that song for the first time
I wasn't sure how they were going to capture the beautiful orchestral passages in the studio and was amazed how massive it still feels
The last song went straight from ears to my heart. I don't even remember any of the lyrics.
i love when that happens.
Stunning. & what a band too! We're blessed.
Love Timefighter! What a track.
Far and away my favorite album this year. Love this!!
amazing album, so glad to finally have a live video...someone w something to say.
great live, the guitarist sounds amazing
thanks :)
@@jacobblizard2413 Would it be possible if you could tell us the chords on timefighter? absolutely love the guitar on that song
They sound amazing live, better than the albums

love this so so much, just wish she didn't keep getting interrupted by ads :(
Agreed and agreed - especially the random placement of ads in the middle of songs rather than at least putting them between songs!
lucy you’re perfect so talented i love you hope you keep it years and years YOU FEKKING GO GIRL
Oo lawd she is so good
I've developed a big crush on her just by watching this performance
timefighter is badass
Thank you for making these videos!
lucy is so cool
She's such a cutie
She's so good
i'm pretty sure that Lucy Dacus is wholly incapable to write a bad song, even if she tried. thank you for your wisdom Lucy!
Goosebumps during Historians, holy moly.
Love her voice!!!

Where is CHVRCHES' show? We want it so much❤
CHVRCHES was not part of this event.
@@matthewallen1491 oh sorry, i was thinking this event was Pitchfork festival, where they are.
i`d love this...if it weren`t for my hatred of cymbals being splashed
theyre mixed too loudly and overpower the vocals during the louder distorted rockout passages, otherwise this was engineered really well
