    I only used petroleum cause I ran out of grease, I usually just use automotive red or black grease. there are a total of 4 bearings in each diffs. if you use thicker oil in the front it will give you more rear end bite and same the other way around. Glad I could help. Thanks for watching !

    I've had to replace both my diffs in my ERBE (in a years time) and both times it was that damn innner pinnion bearing that came apart and took out the ring and pinion gears. Next time I think ill maybe try some higher quality bearings

      yeah its always that bearing beneath the pinion in the diff, as if the rear drive shafts puts so much stress on it that it tears apart that stock traxxas sealed bearing. get some ceramic bearings and shim the diffs, and you got yourself an extremely durable diff

    what kind of grease did you use for the Bevel gears?
    and is Petroleum Jelly is good for the bigger gear.
    in the Traxxas manual they say to use Diff Oils, you did not use them any reason?
    i ask this as my Front Diff on my Erevo brushless was leaking a thick oil.
    I failed to notice which bearing it was leaking from, so i might replace all three bearing from the Diff Case.
    Thanks for the video.

    i think my rear diff may have gone ou. it still goes pretty good but its making this popping noise. well now it rolls then locks up at a certain part of the rotation, definantley not the spur or pinion or slipper. whats your thought?

      The HOT ticket is to replace the front pinion bearing with a BUSHING!No,really!Just seal it with a felt or foam spacer to keep the dirt out! I have blown 3 diffs and the front bearing always fails first.i.imgur.com/Txgzi7U.jpg
      Also,do NOT use the Teflon washers,use steel shims.

    Hi, how can I tell if the diff is gone, I have a clicking noise on my e-revo brushless when accelerating, originaly thought it was the wheels rubbing, but after checking these can't find any signs of rub, THANKS

    • @Moyersteven1
      @Moyersteven1  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Clicking, yes the diff is gone.

      RC Logic I always get scared taking it apart that much. I have changed axles and a-arms just not that in depth. My Erevo clicks when it is in reverse only. If it was the Diff shouldnt it click in both directions?
