    Wow! Don’t ever apologize for being thorough, other guys tend to skip through fine details, I’ve learnt so much from you because your detailed. Thank you, please keep making great, informative videos for the erevo 2.0. Your the only reason my truck is still running. Cheers brother.

    Trevis,, I just bought a EREVO 2.0 about 2 months ago and it has been a BEAST!! I recently broke a pin in the diff for the spider gears when I tried climbing up the front porch. I watched your video on how to remove them and its a good thing I did. The front had no diff lube in it and the rear had just a little bit more. I rebuilt them and filled them with 50k diff fluid. It prolly would of taken me a week to do it without any instruction,,, so I just wanted to say thanks to you,,,,, your video was BY FAR the best and most informative. Keep the vids comin,,, i just subscribed!!

    Thanks for taking the time to create this video, it was great to see the process. The E-revo seems a little more involved to work on compared to my other RC's.

    I agree with your first initial thought I would’ve assumed that the contour side would’ve went towards the gears as well for yes lubrication purposes, but also possible clearance issues for debris that might possibly be in there. Seems like with the flat side right up against the gear, it would mash more debris if there is some in there into the gear rather than let the fluid in thereto carry it out and away

    Big Thank you !
    I'm building RC Cars about 10 years now and normaly know what to do. BUT it is so much better to watch your videos before starting the work. Specialy when it is a littlebit difficult like the E-Revo because it is very different to other Truggys/Trucks . Also your Ideas and toughts are brilliant. I liked the video where you did your Setup with your selfmade Setupplates. My english is very poor but I hope you understand what I was writing haha. I understand each and every word in your videos what I can't tell about other TH-camr. I took my time for this comment like you do for your videos. You work very clean an every step is good to see. So please don't stop !

    The one side of the retainer is machine ground to ensure flatness and good finish and contact against the spider gear. The better surface finish through grinding makes less chance of any galling. Does it make a difference, probably not.

  • @InTheDogHouse3DPrinting
    @InTheDogHouse3DPrinting 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @9:52 it looks like the pushrod is bent. All of the diffs I have built over the years are pretty easy to fill up. I have noticed on the Revo's that after you initially add the fluid and turn the spider gears it will suck a lot of the fluid under them. So you have to be careful when you fill them to make sure you have enough in the cups before putting them together.

    mineral spirits and a ultrasonic cleaner otherwise did the same. you might want to put the parts for replacement gaskets and washers. its $4 at your local parts supplier. just change the seals when you do this. they swell up over time and MUST be replaced.

    So for dry lube you might want to try wax chain lubricant. Dirt won’t stick to it. Water won’t wash it off. Surface must be completely clean. No oil residue. So completely degreased and dry. I put this on my bike chains and it last a really long time. And you can just reapply it from time to time.

    My metal gear/ diff has wobble when in the case which causes friction at one point in the turn when it’s all together, is there any way to fix this?

    • @upgradedrc3697
      @upgradedrc3697  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can be fixed, but it is hard to pin point the problem without hands on . It could be a lot of things. Did you shim your pinyon. Is your housing worn out, are your bearings good, etc etc.

  • @leaguecarrypro
    @leaguecarrypro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You still like that vanquish grease? Used self right aka self destruct 2 days after I got my e revo 2.0 and it blew the front and rear diff. This was just the other day so it’s also the updated “max spec driveline”. Just wondering if that stuff would help extend the life of the gears over the stock grease or at least generic grease anyway, thanks!

    • @upgradedrc3697
      @upgradedrc3697  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, definitely it's a great product. I've been using it for 2 years now. The big thing is maintain the gears and redue your grease 1 a year or more. And don't ever use the self righting button. That will destroy gears very fast.

    You don't need to remove the whole front end, you can open the front different up by removing the skid plates, and steering assembly then remove the bottom pins on the lower arms then you can remove all the screws holding each half of the bulk head together then remove one m3 screw from the front that holds the anodised blue aluminium bulk head brace then get the brace and push it foward and then you can just lift up the half of the bulk head then you can get at your diff

    Trax-ass lied to you. My rear diff is so strong that I can spin the entire drive train with one wheel... the front diff just diffs and spins the opposite wheel in reverse. The rear differential has much thicker fluid given the huge disparity in resistance.
    .
    Also, my front wheel always diffs out while my rear hardly ever does. I think I'm going to run 100k weight front and rear since I don't plan on ever using swaybars. If I had to guess the rear is 50k and the front is 30k since the front feels like it has nearly half the resistance.
