    Just to be clear, I am no mechanic! I was having the same problem on my 2014 Patriot. Heating at 3/4 quarters. I changed both thermostat in about 45 minutes thanks to this video. I also added super coolant bottle. Now, my gage shows below the 1/2. Thank you for this video and great job explaining in detail.

    That engine bay looks so clean! Mine is a 2010 jeep patriot and it’s almost 15 years old so mine has gotten sooo dirty and yucky

      @737mechanic water pump? Wouldnt the engine overheat if the pump was bad?

      @@goblue6499 Yes, If it is only a lack of heat issue then the most likely cause is the blend air door not opening or closing all the way.

    is there a reason why a person couldn't just change both t stats and re-use the housing?

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes you can do that. The reason most people change the entire housing is because it isn't much more than both thermostats and you get a fresh housing.

    A 12 year old car w/ original thermostat, it was probably time for a new one. I change mine at 10 years.
    Can you do a review on that electric wrench??

    Can you just buy a gasket for the temp sensor without buying the sensor?

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The gasket is just a simple oring so you can probably go to the local parts house and ask them to match up an oring or you can buy the sensor here for $12 amzn.to/43X1ZKU
      you could also buy this o-ring kit and pick the correct size o-ring amzn.to/3xxtKxG
