The gasket is just a simple oring so you can probably go to the local parts house and ask them to match up an oring or you can buy the sensor here for $12 amzn.to/43X1ZKU you could also buy this o-ring kit and pick the correct size o-ring amzn.to/3xxtKxG

Excellent explanation and camera angle. Very thorough. 10/10
Best video so far
Thank you very much, this video helped me a ton. Very well filmed not shaky cam so it’s easy to follow. I appreciate it very much god bless
That engine bay looks so clean! Mine is a 2010 jeep patriot and it’s almost 15 years old so mine has gotten sooo dirty and yucky
A 12 year old car w/ original thermostat, it was probably time for a new one. I change mine at 10 years.
Can you do a review on that electric wrench??
I will do that.
THANKYOU
is there a reason why a person couldn't just change both t stats and re-use the housing?
Yes you can do that. The reason most people change the entire housing is because it isn't much more than both thermostats and you get a fresh housing.
@@737mechanicI just went and it’s 154 for the whole housing vs 40 for both sensors. 😢
@@krystalt3374 This one is $32 for the entire housing and thermostats.

@@737mechanicthank you!
My 2012 Patriot intermittently has overheated twice in the past two months. Do you think the t-stat is the problem
That or water pump.
@@737mechanicOr both as i just discovered on my 2.4L 2014 Patriot latitude.
Can you just buy a gasket for the temp sensor without buying the sensor?
The gasket is just a simple oring so you can probably go to the local parts house and ask them to match up an oring or you can buy the sensor here for $12 amzn.to/43X1ZKU
