- Last night, a woman claiming to be the real-life Martha, lawyer Fiona Harvey was interviewed by Piers Morgan after the hit Netflix show Baby Reindeer was released last month. Some have called the interview irresponsible, but others say she has the right to tell what she says is her side of the story. Is it right to grill Martha, the real-life stalker from the hit drama Baby Reindeer?

@@elleema8357 Of course she shouldn't (if she ever was). But they shouldn't normalise blending facts and fiction and linking them both to a private individual. They now have a moral duty to clarify what was real and what was fictitious. But I doubt they will.

About the series, I watched the first episode without knowing much about the case.
Later I found out that Richard Gadd PLAYS HIMSELF. I am not sure I want to see the rest, I find it off putting he plays himself, I don´t trust him.

I think people in general are too quick to buy his story, hook, line and sinker. He seems very iffy to me.

I have looked that way defending myself when someone is bombarding me with accusations. too. And he bombarded her with questions...one after another.

Is she mental saying it's not exploiting Harvey? Piers Morgan thinks she's guilty i.e. also mentally ill, and he chose to grill her in front of a large audience, for his own gain. Simple.

I still give her the benefit of the doubt until the evidence comes out but so far The woman couldn't hold one coherent truth together to save her life😂 She only met him "6 times" yet she sent him about 10 emails but she never explained where she got his email from if I was being accused of stalking that's the first thing I'd clarify, she done a "regular law degree" but when Piers repeatedly asked what she got she didn't know what he's talking about, she managed to keep detecting that she's Martha from the comedy show he done years ago when he wasn't successful but why would she know or even remotely assume he's talking about her when he talked about a woman who stalked him, sent him 41k emails & assaulted him? It's an admission atp, same with Darrien why would any man assume he's darrien unless he acc did SA him? & the list goes on.

He made her the centre of his autobiographical show, so many years later, because the audience loves a story about a deranged woman, especially if they can bully her in real life. It sells.
The shtick about him being motivated by her "need for help" is so blatantly false. How many years have gone by since their last interaction? She was a convenient prop to exaggerate with fictitious elements like criminal convictions she didn't have.
Sorry this lady with the lipstick is so sick, Pierce his interview was with someone 'if proofen true' what is actually pretty easy to find out, who's life is completely destroyed. How void of any empathy do you have te be to not see that.

I am a former broadcast journalist and it was completely irresponsible to interview her without her counsel or rep present to help her navigate this intense grilling from Piers. We really need someone or an organization to keep the internet safer. We need a new set of rules as its apparent even seasoned broadcast journalists who should have taken an oath to serve the public and mankind at the highest level of integrity would side step this responsibility as Piers did.

Why not? Netflix & Gadd have made a mint. Fiona was not charged nor went to prison. If Gadd lied about that what else did they? They should have just said it was based on a true story & not a "true story". If they've defamed this woman I hope they get sued.

It was a very interesting watch her interview and hearing her side but at the same time I can’t stop thinking that if it was a man stalking a woman and assaulting her we wouldn’t be putting him on a stage to tell his side

She got paid a lot of money to be on the show, and she sold her story in paid journals, people weren't sure if she was really like Martha, but by going on TV everybody now knows the TV show was factual
How much was she paid? Do you know or are you just speculating? Also how much has Richard Gadd made off all this, but that's ok isn't it? Fiona hasn't been convicted of anything as far as we know so she is only an alleged perpetrator - not a convicted or charged perpetrator and that's quite unlike what the show portrays
I believe she said she was paid 250 £ so not exactly a lot of money.
