No. He is a dedicated talented musician performing on the King of Instruments merely as any qualified and well-trained organist should do. Let us look forward to more interesting performance by this very talented, professional organist. He is worthy of much respect.
Dr. Albert Schweitzer used to say that the organist that master this six triosonatas has little more to learn about organ playing. And you can play them by heart!! Your talent has no limits!
This is tour-de-force. Congratulations. And yes, this is chamber music played by one person. And in a perfect setting - acoustically dry environment that lets each of the three voices (instruments, we can say) speak easy and with a crystal clear voice. And perfect and wise registrations. I could always imagine individual instruments, not the organ, and that is how trio sonatas should be. Great, great, great!!!
Marcos Leite, Pianist.
I think you're phenomenal. Performing all 6 trio sonatas so beautifully, and from memory, at such a young age, seems like an impossible feat to me, but you've proven that it's not impossible. You make what is extraordinarily difficult seem easy, which is a sign of true mastery. And the whole way you carry yourself makes it obvious that you don't think of yourself as being extraordinary, which might be the best part.
As I watch on my laptop with super headphones I feel I must stand and applaud such a magnificent performance. Thank you for blessing us with your gift.
@liebermannjan Your response, Jan: Noblesse-oblige *Grace* ...in person! Man I wish I could be a quiet observer in the meet-and-greet after a concert, where a Germanic Switzerland, and a Germanic Hessen person shake hands. The Swiss person says a "Stichwort" and the Hessen guy lights up and let's fly: "Und das bist du!" OR "Und das sind Sie!"--depending on the situation. May well be the beginnings of an epic friendship. I hope so!! Love you, Jan. As a fellow organist and Sapiens. Mark (Slc UT USA)
"God is in the details"
A 18 anni, poi.. Davvero bravissimo, una luminosa carriera ti aspetta
Jan. Well done. Excellent. Pedalling first class. Your vivace's and allegros show you reaching into these masterpieces and having the innate fun. Now. Where do you go from here? Who and where? Ambitions and hopes. Should be v high.
I've been captivated by the 3rd Mov of No 6 and listed to a lot of other performances on you tube. I've heard this peace many times before but it's never gripped me before like Jan's performance. I've realised it's because most organists significantly underplay the pedal part. Jan's is the only performance that elevates the pedal part to it's full excitement, and balances it properly against the keyboards. The keyboard stops need to be restrained so they don't overshadow the pedal. Jan has done this to perfection in No6M3. I can't stop listening to him!
Rholala Jan .... once again it's absolutly magic. Thanks to you for thoses perfection. And you don't play it to fast. Its ❤❤❤ de can hear every notes. Merci

Weiter so!
Very good performance. ou show exceptional talent in this performance. Everyone is excited about your playing from memory. This is nothing spectacular. It is the way a recital should be played. No other performer for violin, piano or other instrument carries music by the book on stage. Only recent organists too laxy or to stupid to memorize their music play from written scores. Join the ranks of the real professionals, Jan, you have earned this position of honor and respect. Let us now hear you bring forth a wider spectrum of music. Master the English and French particularly the symphonic composers and you will be truely great. I particularly enjoyed your little smile and chuckle at the end as you pressed the "CANCEL" button - I DID IT!!!!. Yes, indeed you did and well done to you.
This performance should be sufficient to do that. No need for repition. If this is not good enough, perhaps such as Biggs, Fox, Swann, Lamare, Pinkham. Elsasser, Schriener, Mdm Alain, Cook, Howes, White and a few other notable performers like such. You might also listen to this young man's interview regarding comments on why he (and other instrumental performers) memorizes music. That alone should suffice. Funny how the ignorant, jealous or unskilled challenge a comment with "Let's hear you play it..." What would my performance prove regarding his performance and his comments. What does that have to do with the professionalism and effect on the performance of those who DO take the time and effort to memorize their music. Too bad you didn't listen to his comments about memorizing music. I suppose you would ask him to perform it to prove the point. Oh, Wait - He DID perform it. Why don't you listen to him. @@donstoner4725
A truly great performance. Watched it live. You have a great talent for the organ Jan and all from memory. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. James.
I think I was about 18 when I learnt the first Trio Sonata. I never learnt the other 5. Maybe in retirement I'll go back to them. Thenk you for such a stylish performance.
1:21:05 Beautiful. More elegant and precise than a water mill, more elegant than the expert hand of an embroiderer. Everything so precise and well articulated. It would be nice to be able to listen to it in a large baroque church. Thank you!
YOU SAID - "...In a large baroque church." Churches are NOT baroque. Saint Jacobi is a GOTHIC architecture, not baroque. Schnitger is the name of a builder in North Germany. He and his sons built a specific type of organ suited for the Lutheran service in some highly resonant buildings - both large and small. They have a crisp sound. Silberman a builder of the same period, built organs in the south of Germany. They had a sound and tonal architecture much more suited to the general music of the day and are generally capable of rendering MOST of the pre -1880 music with reasonable tonalities to what the composer intended to present. The Schnitger organs are not capable of authentic rendering for anything but music written in the baroque era. Not that they were too badly scaled but that they were specific in their tonal design.@@Basal89
Magnificent performance. Jan your timing, tempo and sweet and delicate touch are astonishing. The organ is perfect. Shows the small large organ in a small hall beats the large large organ for Bach. I'm ranking your performance above the great Helmut Walcha! You allow the music to come out!!

Jan Liebermann understands Bach perfectly! Thank you very much!
This is truly astounding playing and musicianship. Bravo. If only non organists could grasp the depth of difficulty, memory and musicianship required.
But we can and do
Not only by heart but simply from the heart. What a simplicity, clarity and sensitivity.
