    Thank you Sir! Love the pulling tractor talk and especially love the pulling videos from back in the day! This is back when real mechanics got BIG HP out of engines without the benefits of "off the shelf performance parts".

    They weren't called "poppin' Johnnies" because they were in synch! Amazing work on getting all the different stuff to work together, with a little voodoo on the injectors! 👍👍

    Thanks for sharing the video Bill. Neat tractor you have in Hazardous Material. Neat tractors you were pulling with back then. I never pulled anything but stock antiques Farmall and John Deere and the same with the modern ones too. Never had any money growing up like most farm boys. But we all had fun.

    Great video Bill! I’d always heard that turbos wouldn’t work on a JD 2 cylinder because the intake and exhaust pulses were too far apart to be able to build any boost (or something to that effect). You obviously cracked the code!

    Man I like your style!
    You remind me of a slightly older version of myself 😂.
    I can make things happen with not much, and don't worry, I did freeze frame and look up what was there... It makes sense for an uneven running 2 cylinder.😅
    Thanks for sharing, keep up the story telling.
    Much appreciated,
    J.F🇨🇦

    The cylinders don't fire in unison, not even at 180 degrees rotation of the crank shaft, similar to a Harley engine. Looking good Bill ! I like the Viking spar pump for about anything with oil , hot oil , fuel oil , hydraulics , it's available in 5 and 8 gallons per minute delivery. It is also used on N14 Cummins as a oil pump mounted on the outside of the engine,Detroit Diesel as a fuel lift pump, hydraulic pump for dump bed trucks and semis.

    Always interesting to see the power that can be achieved in these old beasts whatever the color. Makes me wonder about the longevity before they morph into "self-destruct" mode. Ahh...the beauty of scrap pile engineering.

    I wonder how hazmat would run against the modern big bore 2 cylinders we’re running nowadays. Been running my 7.75x9.75 Murphy’s block 70 against a couple Oliver’s running turbo 5.9’s at 4000rpms…. And my 70 has been at the top of the pile 3 of the 4 times we’ve squared off, with the other being a 2nd place finish.

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226
      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Brian! It would be no contest, Hazard wouldn't come close. Our 6.25"X 8.25" aspirated 720 diesel would almost always beat it. At the time it was built, it was just a cheap way to be competitive and have some fun! I'm sure I didn't have over $2,500 in it, just built it out of stuff I had laying around. Keep on Pullin'!

    I have a trencher with a wisconsin motor and it is a TJD. It fires like a 2 cyl john deere. They also made a motor I think its a THD that was also 2 cyl but it fired evenly but it had huge counter weights to offset both pistons being up at the same time. Guys make new cranks for these 2 cyl tractors but I assume there is not enough room in there for counter weights that big but could you install the counter weights on the outside?

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226
      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you could fit them inside, I've always wanted to try to do a crank like that but never took the time.

  • @TheJohndeere466

    I would guess the small tube in the exhaust is a pipe coming from the reserve air tank and there appears to be a valve in this line so when the boost gets too high, it relieves the excess into the exhaust to help drive the charger.

      @@so.md.dirtfarmer2226I heard of old guys doing that years ago on 6 cyl tractors probably because the turbos they were using were not the right for the motor. One guy I heard that from was Dave Haley that used to pull an AC D21. He also pulled the tractor Haleys Comet. You may know the name.
