First tractor I drove was a Massey Harris with Continental grey-seal six cylinder and twin power. So much character and power when the governor cut in.
Archie Bunker...I LOVE that guy!! I was raised on a family farm in Northwest Ohio. The farm is long gone but, I still bleed Persian Orange! I have the two Allis Chalmers tractors that I grew up with (a 1963 D-17 and a 1974 7080) in my shop for restoration right now. Yes, they are the ones from our farm, I kept track of them and was finally able to bring them home to the 10 acres of the farm that I was able to buy! Even though I'm biased to Orange Power, I appreciate all classic equipment.
I love the M-H 200 series tractors. The sleek styling, roomy operator's platform, long hoods, long wheelbase, big 18 inch front wheels, big fenders, and big 6 cylinder engines make them real standouts in the classic tractor field.
Love the decal about green tractors. Our farm family in Eastern Kansas owns 5 MH tractors. None have moved in 40 years and probably should be removed or sold. 444, 333, 44, and two 33's. Love the sound of the Continental engines.
In the mid to late 1960's we farmed with a Massey Harris model 55 but I am not for sure what hear it came out. I actually did not like driving it but was a good tractor. It had a flat head 6 gasoline engine with a 4 speed tramsmission and over all it gave us very little problems. We pretty well wore it out and dad bought a 1965 Case 930 on LP because he couldn't find another MH that he liked or there just wasn't many good ones around any more. I don't recall for sure.
