REMOVING KOI POND FULL OF BLANKET WEED (EASY AND CHEAPER) 😉👍**IMPROVING POND WATER CLARITY👍😮

We take a look at how Blanket Weed removal can be cheaper and easier to remove, following adding only half a dose of the recommended product into my pond. Hopefully this will save me money, reduce the amount of product that wrecks the filters and increase the amount of applications in one tub, I need to add whenever Blanket weed is actively growing in my pond.😉👍
I've already proved a half dose will remove the blanket weed if you catch it early enough but will it remove it when its well established.🤔👍

You'd notice a hige difference with a decent particulate filter such as a sieve or similar.
I've also been feeding primarily on Hikari Wheat Germ Formula and NT Labs Probiotic from start of September and its making a massive difference to water quality. Fish are loads more active also.

before i had the nexus and my pond was run on box filters i used to use tea towels that i got for like 30p each. changed every 5 days or sao and they used to clear the pond right up. especially with green water

That stuff looks like Terram. We use it under block paved drives sometimes when the ground is rubbish. Never thought to use it in my my pond..... Until now :)

Ive tried most blanket weed treatments most seem too destroy it all plus the good layer of algea on the pond to quickly which can lead to water parimeter and filter problems so i use blagdon pond pods they remove chlorimide and heavy metals aswell 1 pod every 2 weeks works great and costs next to nothing

Nice one!! will be trying this myself like you say the uk weather is odd. My pond is in full sun all day every day but is clear. Iv got a huge filter it’s over kill for the pond but was cheep so it came home with me.
Iv got grass carp in the pond as well but they are definitely not a fix the problem with blanket weed!

Hiya, thanks for that.😉 yeah full sun is a pain hence my use of the large brolly I can use as a temp shade that seems to help. I had a couple of grass carp but they just got used to eating the food for the other fish instead of the blanket weed...🤨😉👍

To me, mho is if your going to keep Koi and know they are going to be happy then something a little more natural is key. Seeing these Koi pools (not ponds) is like looking at a sterile stretch of water with nil interest. Th my mind you need plant life and the pond life that goes with it.

Unfortunately my drum takes this out in 24 to 36 hours. So i am trying columbo blanket weed treatment. I attack it when it is just over an inch long as this cuts down clogging up of the drum.😂

If you would like to end your blanket weed problem? get two or three floating baskets, polystyrene ones are best! add a little pond soil and plant with ordinary garden Mint!!!

You have to remove the reason to the blanket weed instead of using poison. you have too much energy in your water. maybe your filter is too small. never had weed in my 27000l pond with 30 koi

Hiya,
The wording on the tub destructions say, 'Safe for all pond fish. The pond should have a good level of Oxygen saturation, especially if you have Sturgeon or Orfe'. Hope this helps. 😉👍

mine took like 3 weeks the only annoying thing is it blocked my bottom drain, shut my flow down till it started to clear :(

Mine blocked the drain last year. I think I was luck it was still attached to the side so was able to get it out again with a broom handle..
