MONEY SAVING KOI POND BLANKET WEED TREATMENT
This week we try to save even more money of Blanket weed treatments as the growing season starts. Using Clover Leaf Blanket Answer I try to reduce the dose right down to a 1/4 dose from the stated amount on the tub.
It will take some time so lets see how it works on smaller doses..🤔😉👍

I've gone for clearwaters blanket weed goop as I've a sturgeon. A blurb regarding cloverleaf was: "if sturgeon are present we would recommend Anti Blanket Weed instead as a precaution against de-oxygenation which can tend to occur."
Build a pergola over the pond I did this years ago and it stopped straight away.I don’t like putting chemicals in the water it causes more trouble. I don’t put anything in mine.

Had a little bit of blanket weed last week. Treated once and it seems to have been caught in time. Definately didnt have as much as you did.

Hi Andy no blanket weed for me still too cold I always used barley straw in my old multi bay filter used to get it free from a local farmer ( bonus) 😂

Due to my ponds water temperature not getting high enough to put the blanket answer in I bit the bullet and got a lot of the blanket weed out manually as it was starting to get quite thick. I don’t mind a little bit but it was like green curtains under the water!
Amazing how it stripped all the nitrates out of the water though. My nitrates were only reading at 5ppm (the first mark) on the API test kit anyway but since the blanket weed grew they’re now firmly 0ppm. The other pond plants are growing now though so hopefully the nitrate reading will stay at 0 and the blanket weed stays subdued 🤞🏻
On the plus side the water is crystal clear 😎
