    On the other side of the pond add a nexus pressure filter to a bakki shower. More bio you will have less trouble. And when you treat your pond for parasites pond will bounce back alot faster.

    I use floss to polish my water. Do you have a spare pump? Push a piece of pipe into to pump inlet. Usually about and inch and a half diameter and about 12/18 inches long. Drill loads of holes in it or cut slots with a saw. Blank the end off. I use tape. Wrap the tube in floss and secure to pipe with elastic bands. Dropped it in your pond ,and turn on. Direct water outlet as you wish
    Leave overnight and see!
    Easy and works brilliantly!

    There is no better mechanical filter than filter wool. the only downside is you need to change it often. but you get the clearest water.

    Just another day in the North High Winds and rain yesterday and cold today temp just 12c the good thing I don’t have to bother with green water as I have none however, I will put my normal quarter dose of Colombo Algisin into the pond which I do every 2 months which keeps the walls free from the green stuff.
    Next week Monday I will put some 150ml of Hydrogen Peroxide into the pond this softens the mucus on the fish body I will put Formalin into the pond the next day and Malachite Green 5 days later.
    I turn everything off for each day I put stuff in the pond other than air then everything back on other than UV.
    I don’t know if its just luck or my system works but I have never had problems with anything on the fish.
    I know a few people with fluke have used Formaldehyde and found it better than other treatments I have purchased some myself just in case.

    You always make me giggle Andy great vid again. I think I mentioned once before, I take the stance re parasites that prevention is better than a cure so monthly in rotation half dose formalakite, then half dose fluke sol the next month, keeps my pond free of the nasties. I also drop a pond ball in two monthly.

    Hello ! i've been following you for maybe 1 year and as i recently bought a house it came with a fish pond and i started to enjoy looking after this little pond. The problem that i have is the filtration system as it seems not to be very efficient. I bought a filter like yours but the V5000 version as my pond is not that big and i am doing some work on it at the moment to fit a bottom drain. what i can not figure out is what pump do i need and where can i buy one from. If you will be kind to give me an advice it will be greatly appreciated.

    • @KoiPondLifestyle
      @KoiPondLifestyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hiya, Glad you've been enjoying the videos. My system is gravity fed so the filter is placed at the same level as the water so my pump circulates the water and not drawing from the pond if it was a pump fed. I would suggest you visit a pond dealer as they should be able to work out your set up and volume required to turn over water per hour through your filter. Too much and the filters wont have time to process the water as it goes through. Too little and the water will not refresh the pond enough? Hope this helps a little. 😉👍🤔

    • @Davidj3
      @Davidj3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KoiPondLifestyle And to put a drum you need 2 bottom drains. 3 or 4 inch. Or not enough flow will be In filter and to push up to shower.

    • @marciabigg469
      @marciabigg469 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Davidj3 why do you need 2 or 3 bottom drains for a drum?

    • @Davidj3
      @Davidj3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marciabigg469 hi If you have RDF drum installed gravity flow style you need a minimum of 2 bottom drains. Because pump needs atleast 4 to 6k gallons per hour will be pulling water thru on the return side of the filter to waterfall or bakki shower. If you have it pump fed thats different

    • @marciabigg469
      @marciabigg469 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Davidj3 surely that depends on the size of pond? Seen lots of videos of people using drums that only have 1 bottom drain. Not everyone has a shower either and the ones I've seen pull from the skimmer over the shower.
