Good choice. I went with Thorogood boots after watching/reading dozens of reviews of work boots. I was sick of buying new ones after a year having them leak or split apart. I'm at 1.5years with my first Thorogood and am absolutely pleased with them. They were also the most easily broken into boot i've ever worn, no foot pains at all.

So comfortable right out of the box. If your a boot guy, look up on TH-cam here about their factory. They tumble the hides which is why the leather is so soft.

PS: make sure you are wearing white socks with your work boots so your feet do not sweat
I'm a union carpenter. I'm on concrete for 8 hours a day Monday -friday. I've had my thorogoods for 4 years now. As long as you take care of them they will last you. Once the soles get worn out get new soles. I clean mine about once a month. The toes are probably going to wear out fast with your line of work.
Toes do wear fast. That is how mine failed with the toe wearing thin and ripping out. I have switched back to redwings and have a pair of rockroosters for backup. I do like the Thorogood tho.

if you have a nerrow foot then you need like a 7D and 7EE wider boot the d is for narrower feet i didnt know that for years and flopped around like i had duck feet when broke in
Thorogood is hands down the most comfortable boot out of the box. No break in period at all! But they dont last very long. The cpl pair i had only lasted me 6 months top doing union glazier work. Comment for the algorithm!
Sometimes a little bit bigger size of boot is better because of the way our feet are shaped due to the shoes these days, the pinky toe is further back and not protected by the steel toe
Bro.... Timberland Pro with composite toe. I'm over 50 and been doing concrete since 17. I've never had boots last so long! Seriously! They'd probably last longer if I oiled them... It's my fault I don't take care of them more. I've turned 8 different people on to them and they are 100% happy

Redwing is a solid choice, tough to break in sometimes, though. I just gave away a pair of RW's that I've had for 30 years. Just condition them and put them to work Monday, if you wanted. They were from the era you didn't break them in, they broke you. They could make for a rough, long day.
I'm sure those boots are great but if you ever want to splurge and buy by far and away the greatest work boot ever made get yourself a pair of Nick's Boots. I was actually given a pair maybe 30 years ago and then bought 2 pair after that. I literally still have all 3, luckily the boots and me are retired but you will not believe how superior they are. I would walk acres of land a day, many homes in all phases of construction and after getting Nick's boots, my feet never hurt again. You can say I'm crazy but I have no reason to lie. Yes, they are very expensive but if you are going to spend years of your life on your feet in construction, etc it will be the best money you ever spent. I tell anyone who will listen, you just have to try them to get it. Cheers!

You should've got some die hard boots, they're the same boot for under $100, and yes there real leather, I do asphalt work and they take a beating with the 325 degree heat and last a few years, only brand I've found that can take the heat, been a fan for over 25 years.
Those wedge sole Thorogood boots are so comfortable, they'll wear fast though, and they're not cheap. you gotta take care of your feet though, once they're frigged up, there ain't no fixing that. cheap shoes just ain't worth what you save in the long run.

thorogoods are good entry level boots once the plastic welt starts to crack and the fabric linner inside rips you will start to try on better boots
