- Can a pile of scrap Ford OHC Pinto parts provide what is needed to build up a running engine for minimum cost?
I have uses for a running engine however I quite fancy the challenge of a budget build.... How cheap can we go?
See part one here..... • Scrapheap Challenge......
Really enjoyed that. Thank you.
Coming along nicely 👍
Same block & numbers with screws in my 1983 Capri 2.0s 5speed.
2222 is cosworth selected as ford used the best castings for the cossie engine on a 205 block but some end up as pinto engine
Really enjoyed the recent content, keep up the good work. Merry Christmas
Such a great series! There aren't many videos on the ol' faithful pinto. I just cracked into my 73' pinto and found .060 pistons, going to cherry pick it out and take a look at the bottom end. These videos give me great confidence I can make something fun out of this cleanish block for pretty cheap with time and effort. One question, do you have any guide on identifying the different pinto heads? I'm not 100% sure the head on here is a 2.0 any more, now that I found the overbore.
I have no doubt that that engine will be a++++ when finished ❤❤
Very nice from you to share your knowledge. Thanks for that!
Looking good 👍 you need to find a dyno willing to collaborate!
Thanks mate.... and it would be interesting to see what horsepower the scrap pile produced 🤔 🤣
Just wondering , wasn't the Pinto used transversely in the Transit? Just wondering if that is what the X denotes? Are the screw heads actually screw heads on the numbers or are they actually a cast rendition. As the block idents were screwed in on some of the masters. T5 is the grade of casting.
