I don’t think so? It uses a guitar or other instrument plugged into the instrument input to figure out the harmony parts based on the chords being played. It then adds those to the vocal from the mic. You can try sending your question to the TC Helicon people.

I’ve been trying to contact helicon but I haven’t got any luck, do you have a way to try running recored music through it see if it works ?
