Hey listen up please For one week I tried to be friends with him as he wanted to be friends after several breakups But now today I realise that maybe it's not my cup of tea to stay friends because that's just not how or what I am. He expressed me the reason for breakup today and I understood it and now I accept it totally cause I nevr wanted to be the one to chase at the first place. Initially, he said it was because he didn't want to be around me.. When we do see each other, he asks questions about my weekend. I know that at times he hates staying out. His work is very busy/intense at the minute..I fear that as we don't see each other too much he is happy with his new routine...What do I do next?
He left to stay with family in another state indefinitely. Maybe when he comes back in a few months, which he needs to so for work, he will see the changes. This, however, will be 9 months since breakup. Isn't that to long?

You can ask him out, if you changed a lot he might be interested and opened to spend time with you.
What if you have to talk to each other because you have a son together? (21 years old and independent by the way).
